The Minecraft Movie Trailer is TERRIBLE
Welp, there goes my childhood...
A Minecraft Movie has just dropped it's first trailer, and everything that could go wrong did go wrong. In what's pretty much a rant video, I go over all the problems with this trailer, as well as a slight bit of optimism, although the odds of this turning out good aren't very likely.

    I'm think the reason why some people don't like trigger warnings is because they think that people has gone soft nowadays, and they need to tough it up. Plus, the other reason why people criticize about 'trigger warning' statement is because of there was widespread agreement among critics that warnings are “infantilizing.” Many express the view that “[w]e should be treating our students as adults,” and that “students should assume agency and talk to their professors about any personal needs.” Others express concern that trigger warnings undermine education by focusing attention on personal reactions to course content instead of teaching people “to use analytical concepts in order to comprehend difficult social phenomena.” The theme was echoed by many respondents who think warnings reinforce “students’ tendency to make ‘the personal’ the primary domain for understanding.” however, still others worry that the use of warnings, with the implicit promise that folks may “opt out” of engaging with certain material, reinforces the notion that “education is a consumer experience, and that the consumers (the students) get to decide whether they like the goods on offer.” The overarching concern expressed by critics of trigger warnings is that they will make it difficult or impossible to discuss “sensitive” topics. They fear that people, in their anxiety not to offend others, will simply decline to address certain issues or express certain opinions, especially if they’re unpopular or controversial. Also, I'm agreed with you that almost every point that you saying because if you have shows for a example: The Boys, people knows that this series is not for kids, it's for adults only (now sure, they do put a little disclaimer before the show starts) but that doesn't mean the series was ruining people who wants to watch it. So, overall, at the end of the day people need to do their research on the rating and what kind of film is going to be before seeing a movie and not get offended. So, still I'm definitely agreed with you on this one, though. 😌💯

    For me my favorite action movie is Mad Max: Fury Road, adventure is The Mummy (1999), Sci-Fi is Alien, Animation is The Nightmare Before Christmas, Romance is Moulin Rouge!, Comedy is Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Horror (my favorite genre) is Hellraiser (1987), Thriller is Parasite (2019), War is Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, and Western- I've sadly seen very little westerns. I'll say Blazing Saddles. I do want to comment on your statement about the Human Centipede being only about shock value, as I disagree with that. I highly recommend the Dead Meat podcast episode where they review The Human Centipede to get a bit of a better idea of what is going on with that movie lol. Otherwise, I enjoyed this video, keep it up!

    • @MovieTalk-2
      @MovieTalk-2 2 месяца назад

      Hey, that's an awesome list! I completely forgot about Blazing Saddles, and Monty Python is an all time classic, so I definitely respect that! As for the Human Centipede argument, I realized after editing the video that maybe it wasn't the best example, so I'll admit that I was wrong for saying it. In hindsight, a better example would be A Serbian Film (which actually could've been great if the director was trying to actually make something good of it) or any of Lucifer Valantine's films. One day I want to make a video talking about how he truly is the worst filmmaker working today. But honestly, back with the topic itself, I love your list. I even considered putting Fury Road in there, or making it a tie, before ultimately just going with The Raid.

    The only reason Stuckman is getting so much buzz is cause of his channel and loyal viewers and followers. Outside of that he's such a sellout and phony. The last thing the film industry needs is someone who doesn't believe in genuine film criticism, he is not a movie reviewer. Well it's a good thing that he's been open to explaining that he isn't about film criticism anymore. The hate that he's gotten about his choice is nothing more than idiotic. He's not acting like he's a critic anymore. He's OPEN and has always been open about how he's only here to celebrate films. But, the sad thing about it is that he's the only person left who foes movie reviews on RUclips... wait, what's that? Other people do movie reviews on RUclips too? If you don't enjoy how he does reviews anymore, than you don't have to cry and act like it's the end of film criticism as we know it. He isn't a sellout, he's just not going to be bashing peoples work, then ask why they all the sudden don't want to work with him. There is absolutely zero reason why any of this criticism is needed

    • @32lilbruce
      @32lilbruce 3 месяца назад

      @MovieTalk-2433 A real filmmaker is not going to work with another filmmaker because they gave their film a negative review lol. Real filmmakers welcome constructive criticism. How can they improve if they don't have it? And He's not acting like a film critic anymore? Go look at all his video thumbnails, "MOVIE REVIEW "on 95% of his videos my guy lol. That's being disingenuous. There is every reason why the criticism is justified against him. When you don't call out bad filmmaking, bad films continue being made. Let that sink in.

    • @MovieTalk-2
      @MovieTalk-2 3 месяца назад

      @@32lilbruce Again, I go back to the idea that he's not acting like he's a film critic. You will never see him say that he's doing a proper film criticism. Plus, there's a difference between giving feedback and being a critic. He's just simply allowing others to give the criticism. He's just there to talk about movies he enjoys. Everyone who knows who he is understands that. Just because he puts "Movie Review" on his videos doesn't mean he's looking at the film like a critic. It just means that he's creating a review of the film he enjoys and talking about what he liked about it. Like I said before, there are other people out there who will criticize a movie. That's just now what he's about anymore. It's not that he's refusing to call out bad filmmaking, it's just him not wanting to bash other people working in the same industry. There are critics out there that do that. He's just a filmmaker who's celebrating films with his audience.

    New Disney some bottom of the barrel Will Cash grabbing

    • @MovieTalk-2
      @MovieTalk-2 3 месяца назад

      I 100% disagree. There's a couple of things I'd like to address with that. 1. There is no such thing as a cash grab. Maybe for examples like the Playmobil Movie, but outside of that, there has never been a cash grab. Every single movie is designed to make money. There has never been a film where a producer or studio exec looked at the film and went, "Yeah, I want to lose money with that one." If the movie exists, then it was designed so that it could bring in a profit. 2. Outside of Wish, Disney still makes incredible films. Are they as good as, say, the Renesaissance Era? Of course not. But they are still great films, and Disney continues to make great films under both the Disney banner and the Pixar banner (Marvel is a more complex story, but still, they make good Marvel movies). They continue to make great films to this day, so I have to completely disagree with you on that. I'd love to talk more in-depth about this, though, if you're willing to have the conversation

    • @orangeslash1667
      @orangeslash1667 3 месяца назад

      @@MovieTalk-2 I disagree, Frozen is a terrible adaption of the Snowqueen, Raya and the last Dragon had a horrible message, Strange World was a box-office bomb for good reason Big Hero 6 and Ralph breaks the internet were meh. Encanto, Princess and the Frog was great, but Disney is no longer as ambitious as they were in the 90's.

    • @MovieTalk-2
      @MovieTalk-2 3 месяца назад

      @@orangeslash1667 I mean, I get the argument that Disney isn't in the same level that it used to be (it was called the Renaissance Era for a reason), but I think you're just cherry-picking. Let's look at Pixar's last five movies: Inside Out 2, Elemental, Lightyear, Turning Red, and Luca. Only one of those films, Lightyear, had mixed reactions. Maybe the Disney brand itself without Pixar hasn't made exclusively amazing films, but many of their films are still widely praised. You mentioned Big Hero 6 being meh, but the general audience would disagree with you. Same goes for Frozen and Rya and the Last Dragon. Just because they aren't in the era where every Disney movie becomes an instant classic doesn't mean Disney still can't keep that same charm that it used to have. And even with that said, I would argue films like Moana and Zootopia will become classics and on the same level as the films from the 90s in the near future. But I'd love to talk more about it if you're willing to have the conversation.

    • @orangeslash1667
      @orangeslash1667 3 месяца назад

      @@MovieTalk-2 I'm talking about critical reception, not box office success. Alot of people complain about the plot twist villain in Big Hero 6. Elsa from Frozen was originally going to be a villain, but because of Let it Go the whole story was rewritten to fit nicer Elsa. How is that good storytelling??? You don't rewrite the whole story for one song. As for Zootopia, RUclipsr (4shame) did a good job addressing the issues. Pixar films don't count, I'm talking about Disney in House.

    • @MovieTalk-2
      @MovieTalk-2 3 месяца назад

      @orangeslash1667 but why doesn't Pixar count? It's all under the same brand. Whenever you see a new Pixar movie, it's "Disney Pixar's (Movie Title)" The only thing I wouldn't count is Fox and Searchlight Pictures. Also, I would just like to point out that your point about Zootopia doesn't make a lot of sense. A single person? That's all? I could find a video essay about how The Godfather is a terrible movie. That wouldn't change anything about the general consensus of the film. And I do belive that box office and movie's reception go hand to hand. Look at Marvel. People started to hate the new Marvel movies, so what happened? The box office tanked. Then they release movies like GOTG 3 and Deadpool & Wolverine, and what happens? The box office explodes, because they're good movies. Whenever Disney or Pixar make a good movie, people go out to theaters and see it. Whenever they don't make a good movie, not as much people go out to see it. The box office is a good indicator about what people enjoy and what they don't.

But with that being said, it will be AT THE VERY LEAST a top 3 or 5 horror film of the year, if not the best horror film this year, and it will remain popular for years to come. I wouldn't go that far, but I'm curious as to your reasoning why you thought it was awful

      It did 4 million worldwide. It's gonna need to make $80M at the minimum to break even, but realistically, that number is closer to $85-90M

    Going from at least 8 months from when a movie was released in theaters to being sold on Vhs or DVD (I'm a 90s baby) to less than 4 weeks is defiantly not helping Hollywood! Last movie i watched in the Movies was the Time Machine from over two decades ago, and did that with a friend and his Father.

      Exactly. Hollywood is just erasing the need to ever see a movie in the theaters, because you just have to wait a little bit before you can just buy it on Blu-ray or Amazon. That's what I truly believe is one of the big driving forces to why there's been so many movies that have underperformed at the box office. There's just no reason anymore to actually go to the theaters now.

    Following the killer for the most part was very unique. Loved the kills. They were cool. I agree with you about the other characters. I wish they were fleshed out a little bit, but I get what the director was doing.
