It was supposed to be a 2-day ride up through Wombat/Lerderderg/Upper Loddon/Goldfields but due to technical problems, we ended up cutting it short. Will try again in a couple of weeks.

Day 1 - Training

The first two days of the ORS event are training - starting back at the basics of how to pick up a bike (cause you're gonna drop it), body position, balance, throttle/clutch/brake control. It was wet this morning and tested my skills in muddy conditions. I'm loving the 450MT for this and am getting a lot of jealous looks from the big bike riders. :-)

Mate of mine also snapped off his starter switch. I might look at making a guard for mine.
Yeah - it seems a poor design as it's raised relative to the switch block and easy to snag something under it. Not like switches on other bikes where you can't do that. I'll provide my local dealer with feedback about this - hopefully they improve this in future models.

Hi. How does the CF feel on those sorts of rides? I’m on a DR650 at the moment and I’m wondering if your bike does it easy or if it feels like hard work. Thanks
I find it a very easy bike to ride in this style of terrain. It’s (obviously) lighter and more nimble than a big ADV bike - I also have a GS1250 which is incredibly capable but more work in the technical stuff. The CF is really well balanced, feels planted on the faster flowing sections, and has a fun amount of power which is why I replaced my CRF300 Rally with it.

related to Geoff Eldridge by any chance? anyhow.....great sum up of the bike in the description and seeing it cruise easily at 112 was good to see; i just placed an order for mine today; Two weeks and it should be in the shed getting a thorough pre-delivery and a get-to-know-you day; seems China has hit the nail on head with this bike; i haven't read a bad word about it anywhere.

It will be interesting to see the long term reliability of these bikes. They look very promising.
long term reliability is a mystery with all new bikes...i've seen brand new KTM's blowing smoke from the first moment they are started; i've seen brand new WR Yamahas with engine failure in under a 1000K's....brand new $25K Harleys with broken gearboxes within the first month; not trying to sell this little off-roader but i haven't read a bad thing about it anywhere.

I'm really thinking about putting in an order. I think this is the bike that will get me back into riding. Great visuals, Your joy comes through, but sorry, I find the music way too intrusive. Intro and outro with engine and exhaust on the ride for me. Have a great time. Happy riding.
