June First
Добавлен 28 июн 2018
June First Severe Weather Research was a project that I created in 2018. From a young age, I've had a passion for severe weather, and in particular tornadoes. On June 1st, 2011, my hometown was hit by an EF-3 tornado, that left a 39 mile path of destruction and 3 people dead. It was the most influential day in my life.
Tornadoes are the most unpredictable phenomenon in nature, and is one of the most destructive. The mission of June First is to use engineering methods to study severe weather. It is crucial for the tools of weather research to advance to make breakthroughs in the understanding of severe weather.

DAMAGE ANALYSIS: Mayfield, KY EF4 Tornado
And basing it solely on engineering, its going to be subjective from surveyor to surveyor. Its like they pick and choose how granular they want to go to achieve the rating they desire, The DI’s are there per their own rules, it drives me nuts.
Absolutely. It should not take loss of life and severe damage to a major metro to earn an ef5 rating. The thing is, even over an open field a high end tornado is still damaging something, that could be forensically analyzed. So I think there us a certain degree of not caring about the accuracy of the ratings. And you also get a lot of people that believe the NWS ratings are exact and are absolute. Anyone who has researched them really knows othewise so its preaching to a crowd that doesnt care to hear it anyways.
Nebraska just had a giant Tornado go through, Two, actually. The first one was the largest and i was really surprised when it was class EF4 later. I have a friend in the neighboring city streaming on Kick at the time and when we looked into the amount of damage there was, it was tragic. again: I was really dumbfounded that it wasn't EF5.
If I where to make a newer Fujita scale I would go back to the OG with just windspeed, i would make an f6 rating of (>290) and so the el Reno is the single strongest rated tornado by both the scale and me :)
what map has the tor paths?
Haha, I thought you were saying Vegeta scale, not Fujita scale. I think it would be amazing if Weather reporters screamed out "It's over 9,000!" when reporting F5 category Tornadoes.
They will soon change the tornado ratings, not because it isn't very accurate anymore, but because it would allow them to push climate change hysteria even more...maybe we'll start getting like 10 EF5s a year soon enough, gotta keep that taxpayer money flowing
It’s 2025!
I completely believe that it became a ghost town for the consequence of what they did to the tribe
I didn't know about the Enterprise and the name means so much more now as I watch way too much Star Trek lol. As an Australian and weather nerd I also love that weather meant it wasn't sunk at Pearl Harbour. Thanks for the awesome video from an ally in the South Pacific ;-)
Happy 2025
um, Japan didn't have the army to conquer Australia They just wanted to cut it off so AMerica couldnt use it as a base.
I think the reason for being damaged and no damage in the same collected area that the damage is taking place in, well this is because of multi-vortices it's like having a whole bunch of super, super, fast tornados tightly wound into a slightly slower wider tornado, kind of like a barrel bearing 🌪️ 🤯
I saw the hacklburg tornado first hand. Saw the damage it did and the distance it traveled. It makes no difference what they said its strength was. It was devastating Killed 72, and covered 102 miles in 2 hours and 35 min. Jeans fell across the Athens area from the wrangler jeans plant some 60+ miles away. It was a monster as it crossed the Tennessee River and had dissipated at that point since it began. To those who losses loved ones, it doesn’t matter. It was a killer.
Hot take, we need to do away with the Fujita scale entirely. Instead we should move to a scale based on all the impactful elements of a tornado - (estimated) wind speeds, track length, width. Something like ACE in the tropical cyclone world, with classification ratings assigned in brackets based on a composite score of those elements.
I would of just gotten a few rachet straps for your top carrier
I personally beleive that ef5 rating arn't given out because the govornment is trying to calm peoples nerves in SOME way. because is they had tracks of many ef5 ratings, some people who are immigrating may see that as a deterent. However, im not amarican, so i cant really say.
I still feel the Worcester Ma. tornado of 1953 was purposefully "lowered" to an EF4. The damage, however, represents EF5 damage. Local meteorologists feel the same way.
How to chase storms safely: 1. Don’t
Mother nature was rooting for the US
Hypothetically if a tornado similar to the Joplin EF5 blew through open fields & plains destroying little infrastructure would it be a EF0/1? But essentially the issue comes down to how we interpret the damage?
Hi
Rest In Peace To Those Who Lost Their Lives 💔💔💔💔
Yep. Because of the one 2 years later. This is nearly forgotten. (except for those that were affected the most)
This is the shit that got Brain Thompson shot.
6:24 that doesnt make sense, the debris was picked up by the tornado and sent flying into the house by the tornado, so shouldnt that make it the tornado's damage because the tornado had caused it?
Fourth!!
Im third, but you should like do more of this stuff
I spent a few days in Yazoo City after that tornado as a security detail with the sheriffs department
My family actually were caught in the May 3rd tornado in Norman (or one of the storms that night). I remember everyone having to huddle up in the bathrooms at the baseball park because we were at the little league games and my brothers & I were so annoyed at being stuck indoors then we hear a freight train go by and all the adults just got super, super quite. We stayed quite for a long time (I'd say hours but kid brain, y'know? It was probably only minutes) and all we hear is this raging storm outside. Then we lost the lights and we hear another fright train go by. I think we were in there for like twenty minutes and the MOMENT the adults recieved an 'all clear' I remember people just boiling out of the bathrooms/ shelters and speeding home. It was a really wild night. The only time I ever remember my parents putting us in the car and not immediately buckling us in before getting in themselves. They just sort of shoved us in and then shut the door. They still teach kids about that storm as a like 'boogey man of torndaos' AFAIK. We just colloquially call it "The May 3rd"
Good video man, just wish you left out the moral preaching at the end. We all get it, tornadoes are fundamentally bad. We aren't interested in them because we think they are good, we are all aware of its destruction.
I’m second 🎉
I'm going to chalk the saying up to "Rule of Cool." Someone heard it, repeated it, and it just spiraled from there.

Matatan Ribirin H-S.👉🤫👈. Tornado 🌀🌪️
The new scale makes no sense, if a F2-F3 tornado hit a billion dollar factory it would be considered an EF5 since they seem to care mostly about the $$ in the new scale.
rolling fork shouldve been ef5
Do you go to OU
This tornado was correctly rated as an EF4. Reply if anyone disagrees.
Great video! Just FYI Delhi, LA i pronounced as Del-hi, not Deli
I always thought the movie twister described the EF5 the best by calling it “the hand of God” i believe. An EF5 destroys everything in its path, many tornadoes do, but when people hear “it’s an EF5” you get a pit in your stomach and just know that means it’s bad. I hope anyone who has seen or been effected by those strong tornadoes has found peace in the aftermath, it’s not something I’d wish on anyone
It would take something doing Jerrell level damage to be a 5
My friend, who is full Creek, said "Anytime something goes wrong in the white man's world, they make it our fault and make it into a movie". I didn't see it until he said it, the common tropes of cursed lands and burial grounds, and how prevalent they really are in all forms of media. Sounds like maybe the filmmakers were just fulfilling the trope.
So the welch ok bible and freeman girls will never be found 😢
Titles is stupd asf ,ofc we will see another one goofball
0:44 I thought it looked a Necromorph form Dead Space
What hurts my heart the most is the black communities damaged by these tornadoes. The reason why this outbreak is unrecognized is probably because of that. Those poor people.
Anyone who dares to trust living in a trailer/mobile home should absolutely invest in 2 things: a NOAA all hazards tone alert weather radio with S.A.M.E. technology (Specific Area Message Encoding) so that they can receive precise warnings for their location and preferably one county before their own so they have plenty of time to get to shelter. I have my SAME set to alert one county to the west, northwest, southwest, and south. That way whatever direction these dangerous storms approach from, I have advanced warning. It's stupid to set these radios just for your own county as you may not get the warning in time to get to shelter. You also need a FEMA approved storm shelter that meets or exceeds NSSA standards. A trailer, as tragically demonstrated here, provides ZERO protection from a tornado. Even straight line winds from a severe thunderstorm can roll/destroy a trailer/mobile home. If you don't have a storm shelter, you'd be better off to get down in a gully and shelter there if you don't have a storm shelter or anywhere else to go. Apart from a weather radio with SAME technology and tone alert and a properly constructed above-ground our underground tornado shelter, smoke detectors need to be installed in every room. Trailers go up like dry tinder boxes, so you need as much detection and warning as is possible.
I was watching Storm Chaser Brandon Copic, Who was in the area when the Tornado hit.
