Project ADAM
США
Добавлен 31 авг 2020
Project ADAM began in 1999 after the death of Adam Lemel, a 17-year-old Whitefish Bay, WI, high school student who collapsed and died while playing basketball. Adam suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), in which ventricular fibrillation occurred, a condition in which the ventricles cannot pump blood into the body. Defibrillation, or an AED, could have saved his life.
Adam’s story along with similar sudden deaths of seemingly healthy youth launched nation and worldwide efforts to place AEDs accompanied with “Heart Safe” programs in schools in the early 2000’s.
Today, Project ADAM is a part of 15 children’s hospitals across the country supporting Heart Safe School initiatives. Our program outreach has been responsible for helping to save the lives of over 140 youth and adults in schools, making our mission just as critical as it was in 1999.

Great 👍 video, I'm glad that I found this one!
Use the AED
This made me cry...I am very glad that this project took off running.

He asked for CPR to begin without checking for breathing or a pulse first lol.
Oi
30 chest compressions and 2 breaths is what should be done, and if you're not breaking ribs your not deep enough
Why not rescue breaths? Was this during covid lockdown. A lot of preschools don't carry AED.
@esmeraldapooner751 Within the last decade or so, they have realized that rescue breaths are not inherently neccessary. As such, they have done away with teaching rescue breaths. This is because there is still enough oxygen being taken in through passive respiration during chest compressions. The technique they have started teaching is Hands Only CPR. It can also take an untrained person longer to complete those rescue breaths, which takes up valuable time for chest compressions. However, for a child or infant, you should still do rescue breaths. This is because the reason they are in cardiac arrest is most likely respiratory in nature, which means they were not breathing adequately before their heart stopped. The reason why an adult is in cardiac arrest is most likely cardiac in nature. I hope this clears up any confusion about the way things were done in this video!
i know first aid CPR as i learn how to do it in ST John ambulance event

I pass my aed and cpr certification thanks showing this video
Same i pass CPR
😢😢😢😢😢😢💔☝️
Nhhhnhgjffdhyhh the same!💎
First: Why should the female do the compressions if the man is closer and probably stronger? Second: why keeping the cloth on during cpr?
70% of people who receive chest compressions fracture lungs so a man would most likely be too harmful

can i do CPR with my friends at our church
Yes
OMG.

I am just 19 years old but i experienced cardiac arrest last month.Suddenly i was feeling very lightheaded and dizzy and then after 1 week i woke in hospital pinned up with wires.
What about your left arm and hand? Something strange the days before?
@@ilkiwiyes but earlier I didn't taken it seriously
OMG 😱
Save a life in 5 easy steps.
1) you need to do an dr abc assessment before you commence cpr because he may have collapsed but could still be breathing in which case doing cpr would do more harm than good 2) defib pads are in the wrong position (need to look at the instruction on the pad) 3) people who have had an actual cardiac arrest don’t usually start talking to you when you get a rosc
Thanks for pointing this out, I was just about to
what do i do if i don't have an aed😰
Search it up
Contiue Chest comperssion and mouth to mouth 2 breath and 30 chest comperssion
Or if someone's touching their chest while clutching it that means they're about to have a big massive heart attack or a minor heart attack
ច
What is the role of the mask in this process???? I didn't understand what Richard and Sarah were talking about.

Congratulations Betsy and jangle
Especially knowing the scene is safe it does not take 20 seconds to start chest compressions! You're checking for breathing for UP TO 10 seconds. In a non drowning or paeds situation and knowing the scene is safe, it should take 12 -15 seconds to start chest compressions! Because in a drowning situation you do 5 rescue breaths first.
Yes he did because of the AED

Wow
How caridac arrest happens.
Cardiac arrest can happen for many reasons. One that I know if is a heart attack. So, you know how you have blood vessels all throughout your body transporting important oxygen and nutrients to all your organs and muscles? You need this oxygen in order to continue working. Your heart also needs oxygen in order to pump properly. If that supply of oxygen to your heart gets stopped or blocked, your heart muscles won't have enough oxygen to be able to continue pumping properly. The pain experienced during a heart attack is the muscles of the heart beginning to die off. When a significant amount of heart muscle dies, you will go into cardiac arrest and collapse. One thing that can increase your risk of a blockage forming is a diet with high cholesterol. Too much can cause a build-up of cholesterol in your arteries. Think of it as being like a pipe, and every time cholesterol goes through the pipe, a small bit is left behind. Over time, that "bit" is going to get thicker and thicker. This causes heart disease, and raises your blood pressure (because the blood has to squeeze through a tighter space). If a blood clot forms in your blood, it is much easier for this "pipe" to get blocked because it already has less space. There are other causes, such as certain drugs, or side effects from certain medicines, that can trigger a clot to form and cause you to have a heart attack. Cardiac arrest is essentially when the electrical pulse in your heart stops working as it should. Your heart's pacemaker sends out an electrical pulse from your brain telling your heart to beat. As a result, your heart could end up in a rhythm that's not normal. It could be spasming and not pumping your blood properly. Eventually, it may stop moving at all (asystole). When you use a defib on someone, you are essentially stopping their heart's electrical activity in the hope that it will stop, and then start pulsing again as normal. Compressions can help get the heart beating again, too. When the heart is in flatline (asystole) you can't shock, but you can keep doing compressions in the hope that the heart will start up again. And of course, you can go into cardiac arrest if you get electrocuted and it goes through your heart, makes your pacemaker go haywire. Hope that wasn't too long!
It’s so fake. The acting is not that good

Not enough recoil on the mannikin during CPR. Just saying.
It says people with learning disabilities are more likely to have cardiac arrest. I believe that.
I hope it never happens to me
