Will do my first season in a snowcat in december, this was really informative! Thanks a lot!
hi, thanks for the video and tutorial. I find that kicking the tiller over to the finished side just a wee bit makes a difference as well. Depends on the conditions obviously...
Curb & gutter is deadly.
Wow!! Nice job!! You’ve done that a few times …..
Thanks for the video. Would it be possible to do one on spring freeze thaw grooming and how death cookies are formed, how to avoid them etc. ?
Where is this?
Where is this?
good grief bro. at least learn how to run a cat before you post a vid. noob strikes again lol.
Sitting on the balcony watching the groomers at Steamboat and my curiosity was peaked . Very cool .
Ever thought about using a drone so we can see the whole machine at work while you’re doing stuff in one spot anyway😊
Know what we really love? When you don't groom at all!
Excellent explanation. Going into my first season operating cats and videos like this are super helpful
Do you have winchcats? To solve this issue?
Bladerouy
Its called a CATALANCHE and yes they are a little spooky when you experience your first one , especially on a snowmobile trail with mountain on one side and "Air" on the other !!! Popping tiller in reverse helps also good video by the way thanks !!
With the alpine tiller probibly the easiest way is to vary your depth of cut which opens or closes the face and changes the angle of attack of the tiller which in different conditions will eliminate the mound , backing off or adding down pressure via the rotary dial also can alleviate the problem, depends on the snow and precise use of the blade helps a bunch ,Carrying a roll and feeding the tiller snow can affect outcome as well, all depends on temp , compaction and water content !!! Good video thanks 👍
You know he’s a rookie when he doesn’t even know his machine thays a prinoth bison tier 4. You don’t sit in the middle of a pisten bully and nor are there blades like that. From me running both machines in the park ik a bad operator when I see one lol
you sound like a real pro
@@billythorburn7507ya been winching and running for quite a while lol
thats a tier 3 Bub@@jpxc1329
@@jpxc1329good operators are respectable and doesn’t insult others, you are just insecure about your own performance hence you have to be a dick to others.
U should back down the run instead of turning on the run make a big hole and mess every time
great video, one day i want to become a groomer :). Please make more vids like this, also what are windrows? Im guessing thats the ridge left behind after your pass?
I have had a few slides, just stay straight and you will slide with the fall line . By the way you have two different manufactures in you title PB as one and Prinoth as an other
SO?????????? is this a PB or Prinoth ??? you have two machine's in your discription !
Swedge cable is stronger.
As a second season groomer, I found your videos very useful. I particularly liked the problem and solutions aspect. Actually seeing the effect of opening the chamber or slowing the tiller speed on the product sure beets experimenting. A suggestion for an episode would be on different snow conditions. Working icy or wet snow conditions would be helpful. Thanks.
Pretty good advice and those were pretty good passes. We usually skip pass on stuff like that, just try to leave a riggie about two feet wide then it's easy to clean up. I think your setup of where you drop in is pretty important also. It's hard to fight those instincts but keeping your tracks moving is key. We call it a controlled slide, I think the manual says something about when your ground speed is faster than track speed ??? good work /:^)
Wonderful to have strived to achieve such incredible skill! God Bless and keep you safe Thanks 🎉
Just watching the magic is satisfying, hard to realize how INCREDIBLE it is to experience! Thanks 😊👍
Thanks to superior groomers like you an arthritic 69 year old can incredibly enjoy skiing! God Bless thanks isn't really enough!
Beautiful thanks 😊👍
nice video, I spent hundreds of hours in a Bombardier MP 400+ winch cat back in the day. The biggest difference I see is in the boom design and cable routing. The controls are very similar
Always knew groomers were INCREDIBLE and made our skier lives great! Now with hearing explanation and seeing visually incredible skill AND knowledge how to get the most out of equipment. Like the incredible intenseness needed to be a Blue Angles pilot! Well done thank you sir God Bless all groomers besides just saying thanks 😊👍
Spoiler: He did, in fact, make it flat.
Idk if I call it flat but he got the jump and ridges knocked back down
storm mode probably is a by pass for air filter in super powdery snow.
Have you done a video on top things an operator should avoid doing? Situations that should always be avoided?
Great suggestion! Thanks for the comment.
2.5 flips 🤣🤣 love it
Gah wish we didnt use our 350 for back country skiing… i loved that cat so much
You said that you didn't like Pistenbully with steering wheel. Have you driven the Pistenbully with stick control? How was that?
I have not driven the PistenBully with a stick control, I was hoping they would get one here to try, but it looks like it won't happen. Thanks for the comment!
Nice video, this cat looks a bit like the older leitwolf i use to drive and i loved that one I started driving the new leitwolf x this year with the new cab and i have to say its a gamechanger compared to the older models The new touch screen makes everything much easier to navigate, and the new joystick is really nice
Thanks for the comment! This is only a demo cat, and it sounds like we're going to get a brandnew Bison for next year. The touch screen will be a major improvement.
You seems to get a lot of snow, which resort is this?
I'm at Pebble Creek in southeast Idaho. This has been an unusually snowy winter. Normally we don't get this much.
Great video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
I operate a bison S like yours full time, and my favorite rpm for it is 1450 rpm. allows the machine to develop all of its torque and the tiller to do a great job no matter the conditions. If you're in a snowstorm and want to fly fast, then just floor it.
Thanks for the insight, I'll try that out tonight!
Haha know your really cooking down the hill when blade knocks the top of a mogul off and all you see is a wall of white above the cab. I always used the foot throttle on the PB winch I ran, never dialed the speed control down.
Come on, man!!!....breaking traction for 10-15 feet is hardly a "power slide"!!! Make a video when the slide is a few hundred feet long....you managed to stay on the grooming line AND left a skiable surface behind you!! In a slide, even one as short as yours, throwing the uphill track in reverse is a sure way of leaving a mess behind you AT BEST and a very possible way of detracking the machine AT WORST.
Thanks for the comment, you inspired me to make this video! ruclips.net/video/IzIfXpwCDTc/видео.html
🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈😳. At least your trying
Every one should start with. Old smoky
Not berma. Snail trail. Of overlap and tiller swing. Rookies 🙈
Good content. Subbed. Keep it coming.
Thanks for the sub!
What ski area is this. Driving me crazy.. I can usually identify them.
I'm in Idaho at Pebble Creek, not too far from Pocatello. Thanks for watching!
@@totheedge1138 ahhh, I’ve seen the area as I’ve driven by! Thx for solving the mystery. Good snow year for you. P.s. I’m obsessed about being a snowcat operator…but, I’m 67. In Great shape, tho. Do you think some ski areas woukd hire me and train, at this age?
Awww, cute babies!
How not to love these cuteness???!!!
Thanks for keeping the BR350 alive!
