So sad that the technology doesn’t meet up to the brilliance as in the visuals and sounds are so dirty. These are two gems

I love Jacob collier, he has massive talent and I like what he did with this song. Bit I think Chris sings it exactly as it should be sung.

They are both geniuses. Collier is a musical genius, of course, but he doesn't write songs like Chris Martin. They both put their minds and hearts into their art and we love them for it.❤

While still acknowledging JC's wonderful ability, still, I think of Claire Boothe-Luce's quote, that; "Simplicity is the height of sophistication."

Jacob can fold the music and twist it every which way because of his mastery but Chris is totally wrong in naming him Mozart as if he is “better” please Collier overplays and despite playing with total mastery and playfulness he loses to soul and meaning of the music. Music is about truth and distilling emotion and when you over modulate you lose a sincerity. Chris is also wrote the song and collier despite his mastery of sound hasn’t written anything great.

I meant to say he loses the soul of the music by overplaying it and modulating it to hell

When you are able to write a song that, played back to you by someone else (ok, 50 times better 🙂) and it makes yourself cry... you are a spectacular songwriter! The performance of Chris is out there, as always, but the voice and piano improvisation skills of Jacob in this are out of this world. This is one amazing colaboration!

Look I love Jacob's performance, but I feel more when Chris sings it and get the feeling it's too much about technical ability when Jacob sings it. I listened to his cover of 'Hallelujah' and there too I felt the song disappeared a bit in the technical splendor. Love 'Little Blue' mahogany sessions though, profoundness and technical ability were equally matched there in my opinion. Feel free to disagree off course.

Chris has written so many wonderful songs that have touched so many people. I find it so beautiful that he was moved when Jacob sang his song back to him. This moment was such a gift for both musicians (and us who were blessed enough to witness it), even though he got a little embarrassed.

Omg this is beautiful. I know Jacob is crazy talented and in a technical sense perhaps it may be viewed as “better “skilled but it’s Chris who makes the hairs stand up on my neck and tears come ❤️ I’ll take Chris’ raw talent any day over over the top runs. Coldplay are just pure magic

I remember watching this stream when it was live. iirc, I think Chris stopped quite a few if not most of the songs they were doing because of how amazing Jacob's singing/playing was. I really wish Chris could have embraced and enjoyed Jacob's playing rather than feel what I can only assume was inferiority seeing as how he referenced Amadeus(amazing movie btw). For those that didn't quite get what he was talking about, it's like pouring in blood, sweat and tears into something that took you a long time to make and then watching someone else just come along and make it even better with little to no effort. There are some musicians who love that kind of shit(me included) but there also a lot who don't, and understandably so.
