Believe me, don't go after them, instead of that, you can go camping near the Lake Eternal instead. Don't move around too much, instead of that, abuse the "exit to menu" button and keep teleporting between two spawns: Aspen River and Robert's Lodge. Keep moving around and checking for an actual prey that you can see instead of their footprints. Trust me, I've only played this game for 2-3 hours but I've harvested 22 animals, which are 4 moose, 5 coyotes, 13 deer. 9 gold, 4 silver, 9 bronze. Another tip: Do not look for footprints that are below very fresh, not even fresh, avoid searching for galloping footprints too! Update: Just got 2 moose, 2 coyotes just in 30 mins, proving to be a very effective method! Do not aim for their head, won't work! Instead, aim for the little spot that is behind their two front legs, that's where their lungs, heart should be in!
