Snakey boi, it was a joy to witness your winning performance live. That was one time the judges got it right, but nothing happens before its time. You rose like a Phoenix from the ashes brother and that victory was, and still is, testament to you and your team's resilient spirit. As we know very well, there is no testament without a TEST (at least not a convincing testament). Through the pain of your mom's recent passing, followed by the experience of your family's home being gutted by fire, was the conviction refined. I empathized with you buddy, and I also waited. The sword was being tempered. The diamond was being shaped. And instead of questioning God, you chose to ask yourself (because you are still Trinbagonian last time I checked) "What yuh need again?". INSPIRATIONAL!!! My favorite line "Embrace your highs and low" has so much credibility and significance to me because it shows your strength mentally and spiritually, as I'm sure the song itself does to those who know you personally. Its where it came from and the time that it did. That Diamond Jubilee performance was as good as any winning performance in any calypso arena, not taking anything away from the other contestants. And this nation building song is up there with the greats such as "Ganges and d Nile", "Nah leaving", "Portrait of Trinidad" etc. One of those songs I listen to a few times before moving to another selection. Congratulations again brother! Keep up the great work!
