    Hello DeepSkyShed, I think it's great that you're sharing your Siril scripts with us. Personally, as a beginner in Astrophotography, this has helped me a lot. Especially when it comes to processing in Siril. :-) A question about the LRGB scripts. Do the photos have to have the same exposure time on all channels in order to use the script? I'm specifically interested in the darks. For example, L=60sec and RGB=120sec. I would be very happy to receive an answer from you. CS and best regards Achim 🙂

    Hello! I've been enjoying your channel a lot lately-thanks for sharing the Siril scripts! I've been experimenting with them and found this video particularly informative. Your approach to the generalized hyperbolic stretch is fascinating, and it’s clear you could spend hours refining it. I need some guidance on a project: I've collected data on M16 over several nights and want to apply the Hubble palette to it. However, when I use your lights script, I notice a significant loss of data and sharpness. Despite stacking all 1,200 images without errors or rejections, the final result lacks detail. Do you have any recommendations on how I can preserve more details in my images?

    • @DeepSkyShed
      @DeepSkyShed 4 месяца назад

      I will price it up but the thing is that there are various ways of controlling the cost, for example there are some bargains to be had in the second hand market and I probably wouldn't start off with the solar kit as the quark is around $1000. My main reason for showing that is to show the quality of the optics and the future potential for upgradeability of this hardware. Also you don't have to have an ASiair, you could use a laptop with Nina but I will come on to that later. Approx new prices are: for the guidescope and camera $250, main camera $600-800, (there are a couple of options) , star adventurer inc tripod $740 and ASiair plus $299, scope $933 currently selling with a free camera rotator worth over $100. Is $3K approx more or less than you thought?

    I'm new to this hobby. I'm using a C8 SCT, AVX mount, ASI071MC Pro, Starizona 7.1 focal reducer and Celestron OAG with ASI174mm. Looking at astronomy.tool CCD Suitability calculator for OK Seeing Bin 1 my camera falls into the upper green zone so it is approaching over sampling. Poor Seeing is definitely oversampling at Bin 1. Bin 2 for OK Seeing is the middle of the green zone and Poor seeing is upper yellow zone so undersampling. I seem to always use Bin = 1. So I probably won't be drizzling since most of the time I'm in a Bortle 4 area. So I should try the Sampling tool in Siril. I haven't tried dithering yet as I'm still trying to get PHD2 (NINA) figured out. So if you can't drizzle you should at least always dither while image capturing? Thanks

    Thanks for this interesting video. I’m very much a novice with astrophotography but have had some good results with my SeeStar and processing in Siril. I’ve started to use the Save All Frames function in the SeeStar and stacking in Siril using the SeeStar script. When comparing the final image between the Siril stack and the stacked results direct from SeeStar I do not see any image improvement from the additional work required to do a Siril stack. That’s all just background, but what your video put me in mind to ask is; in a situation where there was insufficient data to get a reasonable image, would it be worth duplicating the light frames and creating stack 1 and a stack 2 and then combining the stacks as your video shows. In other words if I have 100 light frames and make stack 1 and then use the same 100 light frames to make stack 2, would I end up with a better final image after combining stack 1 & 2 ? Although this would seem like cheating, would it give a better result?

    • @DeepSkyShed

      sorry for my delay replying, I missed this comment. No, what you are suggesting wouldn't work, each sub needs to be unique. You would be adding the same signal and noise so it would all get 'louder' but the ratio of signal to noise would remain the same.

  • @PhilW222
    @PhilW222 4 месяца назад

    Great to have this option. The only potential issue that I can see is if you try to produce a megastack from stacks with very different sub numbers, which may lead to a noisier result as the stack with fewer subs would be over-weighted in the result (not sure I’ve fully explained that but I hope you can see what I mean).
