I was at this show, went with my friends when I was 17. Was up right near the front and Wayne rolled over me in the ball. Raddest show of my life to date. Wayne's ex wife Michelle took a photo of the audience that you can see me in, wonder if it still exists out there somewhere.

This album and In A Priest Driven Ambulance for me represent the next phase of their career after the more noise-rock based first 3 albums (Hear It Is, Oh My Gawd, Telepathic Surgery). Not bad albums by any means, but this album and Priest were when they became heavy psychedelic 'bubblegum' rock. All in all an amazing band with a fantastic career (including everything post Soft Bulletin).

Oh my God- Literally! Yahweh Jehovah brought this song into my life/consciousness today as I was cussing Him like a sailor in a fit of angst fueled rage driven by all the people whom have fucked me over which has resulted in very difficult financial circumstances at present. What a sense of humor the Creator has! Obviously this amazing song immediately/instantly defused my anger/rage and gave me a much healthier perspective on my circumstances. Thank you Flaming Lips! Add this song to those that have come to me from the mystic. Selah.

My friend and I brought the Pink Robot costume to the show. So glad to finally find this footage of this special moment in my life!!! Thanks for the filming and the upload! Backstory: It had been constructed the previous year as a Halloween costume. It was instrumental in allowing us to get up close to the stage as the Pink Robot had the power of Moses to part the crowd like the Red Sea as it 'chased me' thru the crowd. After a few songs it was too claustrophobic amongst the thick crowd for my friend who was wearing it (due to limited peripheral visibility), so we decided to send it crowd surfing. Amazingly the crowd pushed it up to the stage and Wayne took some time to comment on the level of 'freaks' who were at the show. We collectively shit our pants when Kliph donned it for the Yoshimi sing along. It was eventually retrieved at the end of the show and stuffed back into the backseat of my '95 Nissan Sentra for the drive back to Tucson from Phoenix. Later that summer, my ex threw it away after we broke up and I moved out. :(

I don't know Phil Gray, but I recorded this. I think a friend piggy-backed off of me, and that's probably where Phil got it. I recently digitized my master tape, and it doesn't sound a great deal better than this. It was such an amazing show!
