Nice!
I was there! Great show!
Ty for upload it, this song is so underrated
That looks fun :)
thank you!!!
I uploaded a video from earlier in the lap. Even though I created the overlap on the straight and I didn't get room into the corner I don't think you did anything wrong. ruclips.net/video/3jRPtDZQ0nY/видео.html
I appreciate that and I agree. The difference being that I did not move over on you on the straight. I did take the line at the corner which I'm entitled to do as per Paragraph 2 ("An overtaking open-wheel car or sports racer should have its leading edge of the front tire up to at least the lead car’s trailing edge of the front tire (within leading car peripheral vision) before the lead car begins its turn in.") and Paragraph 7 referring to the Vortex of Danger. The key difference between the incidents is that the first takes place on the straight where the leading car moved over after overlap (counter to Paragraph 5). In the second incident, the overlap did occur on the straight, but I did not move over until the turn in point of the corner at which point you had not presented the leading edge of your front tire with the rear edge of my front tire (as per Paragraph 2). I do appreciate the discussion and you taking the time to share your perspective.
If this is meant to be some kinda inclusive thing...err maybe not with that particular err, person
Saw them on Tiny Desk love this song 😊
At 0:35, before the chasing car overlaps the lead vehicle, the lead vehicle has clearly telegraphed an intention to run a tight line into the turn, and the space the cashing car believes is there is bound to disappear. At no point does the lead driver alter his line or attempt to block the passing car. Its a mistake I've made myself. You go for a gap and it's not there when you get there.
According to Appendix P, Paragraph 5 of the GCR: "...if the overtaking car gets even a small overlap next to the lead car, the lead car must give the overtaking car room to race, and can no longer move across the track."
@@robertedmison9558 Paragraph 5 is talking about passing on straights. He just held his line. It never changes. He is clearly headed to the apex long before you overlap. SCCA GRC Appendix P Paragraph 7 "Trailing car, do not take a shortcut to the apex. If you do, chances are the lead car does not see you. When overtaking, keep out of the Vortex of Danger. It is too late to pass. The hole you see is closing rapidly, you are in a blind spot, there will likely be contact, and it will be your fault." I'm not sure if you remember, but I was right behind you on this lap and almost pulled the same move on you going into Cottons. When I realized we were going to crash, I locked up and spun out.
@@nhambayi First off, I'm glad that you're familiar with Appendix P. I wish that more drivers were. Yes, Paragraph 5 is referring to the overlap occurring on straights. Paragraph 7 is referring to the overlap occurring in corners. I contend that the lead driver did not hold his line. Not only did he continue to move right after the overlap on the straight, he moved slightly left prior to that at the 0:25 mark. Perhaps you and I simply disagree on what constitutes a straight. I do wish the driver would have protested me and we could have had the officials rule on it. If you and I happen to get ourselves in the same situation, I'll encourage you to protest me as well. Here's a link to another video with 2 passes with the same driver. The first is the same situation as this one and the second is in the corner with the positions reversed. Both occurred without incident since we held our lines and left each other racing room. ruclips.net/video/uY-gKE12AyU/видео.html See you out there!
@@robertedmison9558 Firstly, I hope this does not come off as a personal attack. Just 2 guys taking passing. Holding your line is maintaining a consistent and predictable line for the given situation. This doesn't always mean straight. If you look at frame 0:32 #9's brake light is on, and he is pointed at the apex with his right wheels are just off of the rubbered-in line to the apex. None of these things change all the way until contact. Once he has committed to a line to the corner without you on the inside, he is not obligated to make sure you have room. Here are 2 examples of where I try to beat a slower car to the apex of a corner. While the corners are different, the concept is the same. An overlap created IN a corner doesn't entitle you to space. ruclips.net/video/L6sCqttHpRU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Y0TY2uaBh8Q/видео.html And how I should have done it: ruclips.net/video/Y0TY2uaBh8Q/видео.html
@@nhambayi I don't take it as a personal attack at all. For me it's an interesting topic and any effort to get drivers on the same page is time well spent. The less damage, cost, injuries, and drama, the better. I wondered if we also had differing definitions of "holding your line" and it seems we do. My interpretation would be to run a diagonal line across a straight with a car next to you and causing contact, is not "holding your line". To me, "holding your line" is not simply keeping your steering wheel centered regardless of your angle to the track surface. It's following a path parallel with the track surface. For example, if I'm 7 feet from track edge, I must maintain that distance to track edge if there is a car next to me. Figure 4 in Appendix P outlines that pretty clearly to me.
feels like ocean damn good pirate!
Oh dear......
Very nice racing.
I wish i was there
