Silverleden | 65 km Hiking in 3 Days | August 2024 [Swedish w/ Eng sub]
Silverleden är en led belägen i Hällefors kommun, i Örebro län. Totalt är den ~65 km lång och går i en rundslinga, där start och mål sker vid Hurtigtorpets motionsanläggning. Leden bjuder på många vackra utsiktsplatser och omväxlande miljöer, där gamla gruvor, hyttor och andra kulturminnen finns att skymta längs hela vandringen. Det finns gott om vindskydd och rastplatser, men leden är också klassad som svår - vilket Martin och hans kompis Oskar snabbt fick veta varför när de i början av augusti tog sig an utmaningen som visade sig mycket fysiskt krävande.

      Jag tycker den är väldigt bekväm! Den har tyvärr inga fickor för mobil etc, så sådana saker som jag vill hålla varmare har jag i sovsäcken med mig bara. Den är inte den minsta sovsäcken ihoppackad, men den tar inte särskilt mycket plats heller - jag tycker att den går att komprimera bra (jag har 175 cm-varianten) och får plats utan problem i ryggsäckens bottenfack tillsammans med kudde, underställ att sova i, necessär och sådana saker jag slänger i det facket också. Sedan är också packpåsen/kompressionspåsen gjord i rejält material, vilket underlättar packandet och så.

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 22 дня назад

      It depends on what type of conditions those environments will challenge you with. I would not recommend this tent if you're expecting harsh summit conditions; even though I love it, it's not that kind of equipment. I would though, recommend you to take a look at the Robens tents if you have them available to order in the US, they are better for harsh conditions and still budget(-ish) friendly.

      Thanks a lot! It is really pretty with the thick snow like that, it really is. That's a great question, actually, haven't really thought about it. I usually have thinner fleece gloves for sleeping, another pair of winter gloves for "working" (since they might get wet from either snow or sweat) and lastly a thick pair of gloves for when I'm just hanging out, since I need something to keep my hands warm then. As far for products go, I'm sorry to say I can't really give any good advice, you have to try some gloves out I'm afraid.

    • @fiskmasadventures

      That's a great question, actually. I think that I cut the bungee into ~30 cm pieces, so that when the bungee is tied into the loop, the "inner length" of the loop is about 12 cm or so (because of the knot and ends).

    Interesting mods, I guess I will use only the bungee rope on the ground sheet, the Cloud up 2 is copy of 3F UL Gear ZhengTu 2 Tent and those issues are not existent with mine original version, but faster staking of the groundsheet and aligning it easier with the tent is great idea.

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures Месяц назад

      Thank you! Yeah, it really makes a difference being able to staking out the groundsheet quickly, the bungee makes it so easy to tension properly. I don't know what the "corner ropes" are like on the ZhengTu 2, but having bungee on the corner staking points on the inner tent as well, makes it really easy to allign it afterwards.

    Tack för en trevlig film, håller med dig kring hur man ibland drar lederna. Känns ibland att man gör det enkelt för sig och lägger den över tråkiga cykelvägar och ute på mindre vägar. Jag för min del söker mig gärna bort från dessa, oftast hittar jag en trevlig väg som mer går i naturen och gör hela upplevelsen trevligare. Har full förståelse för att det säkert har en del med markägarna att göra med när man lägger lederna som man gör. Ett tips kring maten så brukar jag köra en del ramen nudlar/ snabbmakaroner och olika förpackningar med rökta korvar i olika smaker. Vikten på dessa landar runt det frystorkade, vilket underlättar när man är ute ett par dagar. Bra snällare mot plånboken med.

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 2 месяца назад

      Ja, jag kan absolut köpa att markägarna kan vara anledningen till att det ser ut som det gör på många håll, de har ju trots allt lite sista rösten om vilken trafik de vill ha. Finns det ingen stor mängd stigar i skogarna redan heller, så är det såklart enklare att belägga leden längs andra stråk. Men, upplevelsen blir ju därefter tyvärr. Smart lösning med maten där, jag ska ta och kika på det och testa lite, tack för tipset!

Tråkigt att du blev risig i kistan, det finns få saker som sätter stopp på en som just det. Really good mods, thanks! I had this tent, and I loved it. I am thinking of getting another Naturehike tent, and what I really want to make is extra pockets inside the tent. That is something that is really missing in this tent. The pocket above the door of the inner tent is too small, and also things can fall out.

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 2 месяца назад

      Thank you so much! I agree that it would've been great to have side pockets in this tent, the top pocket is not deep enough for things really. But, I also don't think it's a deal breaker - actually, you could get away with something simple like getting a soft collapsable water bowl for dogs, and put it in the corner of the tent after you set it up and put your stuff in that instead of a pocket - guaranteed to protect your things from possible water on the floor after a leak, too.

    These are amazing! I’ve just bought this tent based on your advice so thank you - I’m very excited to test it out whilst backpacking. But first I’m going to make your mods. Do you suggest putting the bungee loops on every anchor point (ie each guy line (8) (and even bottom skirt guy line (3) and the footprint & inner tent & vestibule)? What about adding rope tensioners to the bottom skirt guylines? Or replacing the guy lines with 4mm para cord -do you think that would be beneficial? Can’t wait to use it!!

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 3 месяца назад

      Thanks a lot! Really glad to hear you found it useful, and you made a good choice of tent! I have only put bungee cord on: - The 4 corners of the inner tent as well as on the ground sheet - The two pegging points on the flysheet for creating the vestibule (actually three loops, but for two pegs since the door has one extra loop for securing it while closed if the weather is really harsch; I havent used that one, ever, but I did put bungee on it just in case, so three loops there). I don't see it being necessary to put bungee on the guy lines, since you can tension them anyway. The lower guy lines, the "skirt lines", DO have their own tensioners - but they are not like the others, instead the actual anchor point on the skirt is the tensioner; you just pull the guy line on it after you have pegged the small loop down. You can see at 1:32 on the right, how I have tensioned the lower guy line by pulling the string from the skirt attachment point. Regarding changing the guy lines to paracord, I can't really say. Yes the paracord offers some "stretching" which can be good when it's gusty since it's not ripping the anchor points, but it is also heavier and you need a lot of it for all the guy lines. The guy lines already attached are perfectly fine, and their reflective colors are such a bliss when you're out of the tent while it's dark and/or bad weather. I hope this helps!

    If I had to remember this video it would be about a bad camping location and nothing about the tent. That said I have this tent and as a fair weather inner, then outer pitch tent its good. Pitch it inner first in the rain then its a fail. My son used it in strong winds in the Scottish Cairngorms and it bent the tent poles. He said he would never use this tent again. This is a fair weather tent. Then it's fine. Pitching in the rain will mean a wet inner. Check wind direction before pitching. Bought the Cloud Peak 2. Totally different all in one pitch dome tent. Excellent.

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 4 месяца назад

      I would say the Cloud Up can definately take some reasonably harsh weather, but it's not a Hilleberg and that needs to be remembered. It can be put up outer first if you would have to, which gives some extra versitility, but it is definately more tricky and takes more time since you need to clip on the inner to the poles from the inside.

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 4 месяца назад

      It is definately a good looking tent! And I do think it is fairly warm - it has pretty good airflow, but it's also pretty small volyme wise due to the sloped sides. And, unlike the Cloud Peak it doesn't have a center-top vent where all the heat dissappears through.☺

      @@austieoutdoors9763 It does have much less room, yes, but I have not had big issues with condensation - the best way around it, is to secure the lower side guy lines far out, so the "skirt" is lifted by being pulled outwards. That creates pretty good airflow.

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 4 месяца назад

      The Spider 1 is a very nice little tent, for sure, small and practical. But, if you're looking at both, I would have to say that the Cloud Up is a better tent overall. Even if you look at the Cloud Up 1 rather than the Cloud Up 2, you have a better overall design than in the Spider 1; you have more guy lines for bad weather, and you have a much bigger and more practical vestibule with the Cloud Up.

      @@fiskmasadventures Thank you so much for your advice. I am trying to decide between the Cloud up 2 and the Spider 1. My biggest preference is side-door entry and thats why I love the spider so much. I wasnt looking at the Cloud up 1 simply because of the pole structure - I feel the full Y-shaped design on both sides of the Spider 1 & Cloud up 2 make it more structurally sound for windy weather which I often get in the Cape mountains in South Africa. But I understand the cloud-up 2 has more guy-line anchors and of course its more spacious than the spider, but that comes with the additional weight. Im not too concerned with additional space because I thought that the spider actually had a bigger vestibule, which is also out of the way when compared to the front-door vestibule of the cloud up, and I am a small guy so I could probably fit all my gear even into the spider 1. But my biggest worry with the spider 1 is the all-mesh inner, and the cloud up is half mesh/half fabric which I think will make a huge difference in making the cloud up a little bit warmer in the cold especially as I sleep cold. I of course have a winter sleeping pad (Thermarest Xtherm) and a winter down sleeping bag (Mountain Hardwear -3 comfort). Do you think the spider will still hold up in windy conditions? Especially as I plan to add a tie-down point at both ends of the spider where the fly touches the inner. I will mostly backpack with the tent, which is why the weight & size of the spider are important to me, but the cloud up 2 is not that much bigger/heavier. Its such a tough choice! From someone who has used both - is it just a preferential choice at the end of the day, or is the cloud up a much more versatile/storm-worthy tent when compared to the spider?

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 4 месяца назад

      @@brendonkassel6989 From the environments and such you describe you're using tents in, I would have to advice you to go with the Cloud Up- series in that case. While the Spider is really handy, and the side entrance is nice, the vestibule is smaller (both area and height due to the slope) than in the Cloud Up, and the full mesh inner makes it really drafty when you have wind. The bathtub floor is small, so the wind easily comes in from underneath the flysheet. Also, the guy lines on the Cloud Up makes that tent better equipped for harsh weather. I would, though, advice for the Cloud Up 2 rather than the Cloud Up 1 in that case; yes, it weighs about 300 grams more, but the extra inner space, as well as the extra guy lines on the sides, makes it worth it.

    should i positione the cloud up with the back or the front in the wind for a maximum of stability?

    • @fiskmasadventures
      @fiskmasadventures 5 месяцев назад

      I'd say you should put the back against the wind, so the entrance is facing away from the wind direction. That way you get the most narrow wedge of the tent facing the wind, and you can open the door and use the entrance normally since it's sheltered by the tent body.

      By hand. Attaching it to the fabric that covers the outer end of the top pocket, by "looping" the thread like when you're attaching an emblem to a jacket by hand (but only stitching in one spot).
