Hello! That is so wonderful that you are considering moving to Madeira 🤩 We love this paradise. In our experience the stray dogs and cats aren't so much a disturbance. They might come and be curious and say hello to Kobe, but they usually walk away really fast too. Most of them aren't very impressed by seeing another dog. I do however feel very sad for many dogs that are neglected by their owners. On our walks we have come accustomed to them, but I do always double check to make sure the owners have their gates closed. Those kind of dogs are not very friendly as you'll come to see. We personally have taken care and fostered some stray and neglected dogs, and put out food and water for them as well. So no worries about the stray dogs 🐶 And the cats only come close when you give them food 🐈‍⬛ Hope that is helpful to you. There are many dog parks to go to and friendly dogs for them to play with. We actually went by cargo ship from Lisbon ;) The company we used is called GS Lines. Great experience, and much nicer for the dogs than a plane, as they can stay with you on the ship the whole time 😃 You can get your own private cabin. Definitely recommend. Enjoy your travels to Madeira!

@@rorster36 Wonderful! I hope you find something you like. We absolutely love it here. We went with a company called GS Lines. It's a pretty long journey, but for us it was totally worth it. There's a deck where you can go out for some fresh air, and dogs can do their business there. However, don't be surprised if they don't. Ours didn't do anything the whole trip. The captain informed us that this is very common for well trained dogs, as they see it as an extension of the house. We definitely recommend GS Lines, as they take great care of you, and even provide delicious food freshly cooked by a chef in board. They even managed to provide yummy meals for a vegan like me. Good luck on your house hunt and move!
