Appalachian Rail Adventures
США
Добавлен 19 янв 2021
Experience the historic trains routes over the great Appalachian Mountains! Here at Appalachian Rail Adventures, we showcase all sorts of trains that travel over the steep grades including CSX's Cumberland, Mountain, and Keystone subs as well as Norfolk Southerns Pittsburgh line, and of course the Western Maryland Scenic Railway. Over the next few years more locations and railroads will be included in addition to the above mention's rail lines. Thank you to all that have been here so far, and we look forward to many more exciting things to come. This channel will transition from the previous channel name (Chasing Trains in The Appalachian Mountains) with some video intros still under that name.

Tankers are one of my favorite trains to catch! Nice catch
Great K5HL
Far Out!
Nice video man! What camcorder is this?
Cool.
Cool.
Where is the next 30 minutes from this site?
Awesome!
Wow!
Nice video.
Nice catch.
Epic catch!
Great catch.
Cool catch!
Great catch!
Beautiful. By the way, is this "Roddy's Sag"?
Good day!! Music!!!
Nice.
Awesome! Love tanker trains! I remember catching this train heading west in Germantown back on March 2nd 2024
4:54 Hear the metal
There is something about cargo trains i like
Cool! Was this today?
No, over a year ago. Sadly it has not run sense this day.
Bw nice if we had the location......
It does have it. North branch, MD
Tower trains, also known as econo stacks.
It still has the same horn but it switched to the amtrak texas eagle and sunset limited
Those are flanges making noise not brakes..
Quick train! That cut of grain express hoppers was interesting. It isn't often that those get randomly moved onto a mixed freight train.
Finally, a great train video where the train is rounding a curve and no railroad crossing in sight. Thank you!
Dumb people be like: WeRe Going To WaR
Wow! When was this video taken?
I'm not entirely sure, within the last year, when a lot of dash 8 and 9s were reactivated.
GREAT VIDEO!!!!
K5H horn?
Sure is, sounds great!
And nice Es44ac-h
NICE DPU
Awesome catch! He is definitely MOVING
That’s a new GE bell.
Oh, okay, the pacing just sounded different compared to most modern engines on CSX I've heard. I'm not to familiar with horn and bell types on trains.
It never ceases to amaze me how the taggers are able to paint the whole side of an auto rack without getting caught. I do admire their artistry, though.
Where is this at????
Hyndman, Pennsylvania on CSX sand patch grade or csx keystone sub.
That’s a ES44AC a ES44AH has steerable bogies
Did not know that, thanks. I did notice a typo. It was supposed to by ES44AC-H.
@@AppRailVentures Your fine just helping a fellow Railfan out!!
S W E E T .!!!!
Nice video and good work on the narration as you didn't talk 24/7 like some other folks do. I'm headed out there in a few weeks and I was wondering, about how many trains roll through there per day? Also, is this the type of area that you can chase trains or do they go too fast?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! If you intend to take videos of trains, it is kind of hard to catch up to the train at another location unless its going slow or you skip many in between locations. usually, most trains crawl up the grades so possible but when they descend the grade on either side its very hard to keep up. If your just talking photos you can defiantly catch it many times. Train traffic varies each day and can be quite slow sometimes, a train every few hours. It all really depends on how smooth traffic out of Cumberland and Connellsville is moving. Daily trains include- I-115, I-116, I-135, I-136, I-018 M-276, M-277 L-169, L-170- These are essentially the M-331, M-332 M-369, M-370, M-421, M-422 P-029, P-030 Extra Possible trains not daily B-769, B-770, B-773, B-774 G-110, G-111, G-243, G-244 C-742, C-748, C-751/ E-742, E-748, E-751
Awesome K5HL
Beautiful 1st gen K5HL
Nice video! Is it hard for trains to go downgrade on the keystone sub?
It can be depending on many factors, locomotive power, weather conditions, and train type. Also crews have to be quite experienced to bring a train down the mountain easily.
Awesome thank you for the info and keep up the videos!
Nice
Great video. I like the map that you included here. I've been trying to find maps to be able to put in production like this that I have planned in the future. Again great video.
Yeah I had to create maps from scratch as I couldn't find any legitimate ones. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
Good stuff, new subscriber.
Use to watch from up on the platform when my in-laws had a house just across the tracks They have since moved she hated those trains I wasn’t fond of her but When we went to visit that spot was my immediate go to 👌🏻
