Landang is a processed tapioca flour derived from native palm tree we call BURI or BULI in the Visayan Regions of the Philippines.
It is the main ingredient of the traditional Visayan delicacy Binignit which is usually prepared during the Lenten Season.
The process of extracting the flour from the tree is very tedious that requires a lot of people even a community from the harvesting of the giant palm trees to the cutting into slabs , drying and pounding the dried slabs to get the powder or flour from the trunk of the Buli Tree.

I think people should take back this delicacy where it belongs, in Cebu! In Bacolod this is called Pinasugbo, clearly a reference to Cebu. If you google "Pinasugbo", it will say it comes from the Western Visayas, which is arguably correct. It should be marketed vigorously as Kunsilba and an original snack from Cebu, otherwise it will lose its identity on the public stage of the internet.
