It’s Ill inois , not ELL inois. Rockford is my hometown.
a blodgett oven. the king of pizza joints all across america. 7:00 mins. in.
My family spent several vacations in South Haven. I remember the resorts like Fidelman's. There used to be cottage rentals near the beach. The beach on Lake Michigan is great. The penny arcades are long gone. There were nice old fashioned hotels like the Biltmore that are just a memory.
Great show and very informative.
I love Redwing! Had my SLK280 on display at the car show yesterday. Redwing was hopping and it was so much fun.
lgbt dump with a useless downtown, unless you are being repressed by the government there is no reason to go downtown, maybe if you need new hair stains or nipple rings but other than that what a lgbt dump
Nice town🏬 🏖️
Thoreau climbed Barns Bluff…..a little known for fact. He traveled to Red Wing late in his life to deal with health issues. He did not write about Red Wing in any of his published books, but his brief experience in MN were documented in diaries and journals.
John, my wife and I were the couple from Cedar Rapids that spoke with you on top of the maritime museum in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin last week...we really enjoy your show and look forward to watching this one about Cedar Rapids...😁
3:09 Anybody know where exactly on 7th Street Rick's dad's music store was? I remember when Toad Hall was at 7th & Broadway...
Omg, epic dronne-talk to you soon-John! ✋
awesome ! I lived there too....grad from Rock Valley College !! Belvidere's Cruise night ! lol
It isn't the original Groundhog Day place though, the real Punxutawney is sadly being shadowed by the movie.
A long story why it’s called pickleball.
Raccoon motel in Davenport!? Nice!!!
It’s a great city if you like the risk of being shot at. It’s got hoods more dangerous than Englewood Chicago and that place is a war zone
😂
Actually, that's my mother's account (for some reason) but I just wanted to say that I've been out of Decorah too long! Graduated from Luther in '76 so all I recognized were the shots of downtown, the Vesterheim Museum (which I never visited), Luther and Whippy Dip, oh and Dunning Springs. No more Capon factory? Well, it's been a long time and a few reunions. Always love that town--beauty abounds.
2 minutes in, is this about Decorah, IA or Wisconsin?
When I was a kid back in the late 70s - early 80s, the Allen Bradley clock tower was colloquially known as the Polish Moon. This was due to the large amount of Poles that had settled on Milwaukee's south side.
From Escanaba, this was great, except not all of us like Escanaba in the moonlight..
Where are some great places to fish? Coming up with my family and looking for kid friendly spots to shore fish. Great video, very excited to try Dobbers!!
We been watching this video for quite a while now and it seems to be froze stuck with a postcard picture. Nobosy is commenting either and we do like to read the comments. OK. FIRST as they say. Ill have my granddaughter check the settings. My wife says she was messing with the back of the computer or maybe that cat bit the cord again. We do enjoy your show
Fantastic episode - thank you for showcasing our community!
I’m literally eating the beef from the meat shop while watching this video
I was born and raised in Austin and I never knew about the pearls.
I have lived there most of my life and I believe it’s the most beautiful little city if you ever get a chance I would visit the place amazing
Grew up here. My father was an original employee at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works. Used to get Turkey Dressing sandwiches at Jack Savary's on Dodge. He gave the recipe to my mother and to this day, 1 Turkey is dedicated towards this Dubuque Iowa delicacy. Have yet to find someone who doesn't like them. Was taught right and wrong in this Town.
I would add New Holland Brewing to the list of places to visit. It's one of the original craft boom breweries that put Michigan on the map.
Lifelong resident of GR here. That was great to watch, I never knew of Max's South Beach Hideaway before. Fantastic overview of my city...it's funny you mentioned the Pantlind Hotel as a movie set because it actually was for a movie called, "The Steam Experiment", starring Val Kilmer and Armand Assante. There was about a 4 year period where Hollywood used Grand Rapids as a backdrop for many movies. "30 Minutes Or Less", "The End Of The Tour" and a few movies by 50 Cent.
I love South Haven such a peaceful town ..was there last week .. Hopefully I will be coming back soon😍The Sunset is Amazing ‼️❤️🙏🏽🙌🏽✝️
Lovely neighborhood and vintage building. Would love that unit in a 2 and 2 (for a higher price of course).
I personally would find your videos way more enjoyable if you didn't stop at every place and interview people.
Look at those low low grocery prices 😮
"iTs VeRy DiVeRsE" it shouldn't be it was founded by Germans. That's the trouble with Chicago, every "ethnic neighborhood" isn't the ethnicity it began as. Swedish, German, Bohemian, Polish, Italian, Greek, you name it, it changed. There's diversity then there's chaos.
i loved the part about the crime
******************** What cord do ALL string instruments have in common??? ***************
U didnt say what an ARTSIAN WELL IS? ?
Growing up there it was great, some politicians decided to import gang members unfortunately. Won't move back !
He filled a small venue in a county highly supportive. Stroked his cult. Didn’t even know he was visiting as he’s a nothing burger to the general public. Waukesha rocks!
Waukesha is such a cesspool. 2/3 people are the worst America has to offer.
What he calls the "viaduct" is usually called the embankment. It carries more than the Green Line of the L. In fact, the L wasn't operating on the embankment until late 1962. Before that, it ran at street level along the south side of the embankment from Harlem to Laramie (in Chicago) where it had a grade up onto the iconic elevated structure the rest of the way into Chicago. What WAS on the embankment was the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad which ran freight, long distance passenger trains, and commuter trains. The long distance passenger trains are now Amtrak. The commuter trains are now Metra. And the freight now is the Union Pacific which acquired the C&NW.
This Tim snopek with Abe Van Dyke it's just a dumb joke these guys just want attention‼️‼️‼️‼️
Looks good. And they have spread from Springfield to other towns in central Illinois. Food looks good.
It's like traveling from the comfort of my chair.
Love these shows and I also listen to podcasts.👍
My hometown!
Loved every episode and am catching the "Around The Corner" shows again. Thanks for all.
No pickles were harmed in this video. I still a stupid name. But let's celebrate Festivas for the rest of us and play tennis. Hey, where'd tennis get its name? 😂
So really . How much overt racism have you seen in the last fifty years?
This is for the woman at Leigh's Winery!! This is what ur talking about!
