With big news on the horizon, here's a little round up from a very fun 5 years in London! Sorry the video is a bit shorter than normal! This has to be the hardest edit I've done to date, and I'll be honest at one point I didn't think it was going to come together. Hopefully the next one will be from somewhere warmer... 00:00 - Intro 00:45 - So what's going on? 01:24 - The last 5 years 03:03 - O...

The drivers are more aggressive towards cyclists however. From ireland and race over here. Can be quite dangerous sometimes. Enjoy it and try join a club. Loads of loops around that you’ll learn from club mates
Visit the MCG
Make sure to cycle from the city to port melbourne alongside the tram tracks (route 109) and then you can continue along the coast either direction. One of my favourite cycles, usually pretty empty.
I really love my Kev. The Curve ethos is truly amazing! After meeting a few of the Curve crew on their UK tour earlier this year it is clear that they live the passion and culture that is seen in all of their social media content. I am happy to buy into and support a fantastic brand and everything it stands for. Hopefully the brands presence in the industry can grow in the UK and around the world. With you on board I look forward to watching more Curve RUclips adventures! All the best on your new journey!
Yeah it’s a hell of a machine! And the team really is top notch! Real honour to be part of it!
Great vid. Planning to visit my daughter in Fitzroy in January so can I rock up and hire a bike for a day or more? I usually walk, run, gym and swim when I visit but would love to explore more on a bike while there.
Drop the team a message via the website and they’ll able to help you out!
Good stuff mate
Cheers boss!
We're kinda full though..
Soz 🤷🏽♂️
Try buying a house though $$$$ 😬
Try London!
Awesome to here, welcome to melbourne 🎉
bro the content game just gets better and better
Thanks bro!
The drivers are super nice? In Melbourne The drivers are super nice???
Try London 😂
@ Born in streatham, grew up in Brixton, Tulse Hill and Peckham, came here in my late 20’s. It’s a different kind of angry driving here
I love my Melbourne
Albert park would have been a nice scenic ride 👌🚴
Yeah it’s mega!
Welcome mate! Enjoy the food too! Try Super normal and Gimlet (for a special occassion).
Lol, road past my area, I recognize that last clips path 😅
By the tres looks like you wen to Altona beach
Yeah feeling a bit jealous now! 😍🔥
yeehaw broski! looking sick!
Cheers dooooooood 🙌🏽
Saw you did this ride on IG, good stuff. Next up give the Yarra Trails and the Belgie ride a crack!
They’re both on the list!
NOOOOOOOO!!!!! NO MORE!!!!
Tissue for your issue?
Interesting to hear an outsiders' take on our bike infrastructure. We complain about it a lot, while many of us have nothing to compare it to. You know my neighbours kid used to wear a superhero costume when he rode his bike as well. His was a Superman one with the cape and one day while riding up and down the driveway the cape got caught in the freewheel gear which then started pulling his head backwards until he could no longer look forwards or continue pedalling. The bike had training wheels on it so it didn't fall over when he stopped moving, instead he was left hanging on to the handlebars for dear life while balancing on the seat unsure what to do, so he started calling for help. Because the costumes' cape had caused the neckline to become very tight across his throat he could barely let out much more than a squeak so he also started ringing the bikes bell. Sitting in my lounge room watching TV, I initially ignored the bell but as it became more urgent I also started hearing his tiny cry for help. After nearly ten minutes curiosity got the better of me, and so I went outside to see what was going on. I tried so hard not to laugh while I began to untangle him, but the look of terror on his face as he stared up into the sky, frozen in place on this bike was all too much, and so I was in tears by the time he was freed from his predicament. A few years later I caught him being mean to his sister who is just a year older than him, so I reminded him of that incident to knock him down a peg or two. The sister immediately said, "Omg is that what happen to your Superman cape?". Apparently he had gone home after the incident and not said a word to anyone about what happened and refused to talk about why the cape was in the kitchen bin.
Sweet ❤
Cool to see Melbourne documented from a new ridets perspective. But man, you haven't even scratched the surfice yet! You wait till you really start exploring the world class route. Anything in particular you want to see/try?
Deffo got plenty to see! Especially up in High Country!
@OllieJonesMod search for Strava club called "Northern Groadies" They have some great rides starting at Hurstbridge (train station stop which is easily accessible from the city). Proper hidden gem gravel riding. Otherwise, head up to bright but that's more of a week away trip
Hey, just found your channel, welcome to Melbourne!! Not sure how long you're here for but have a look at peaks challenge in march and around the Bay in October. Two of the biggest events in Victoria 👍
Thank you! Yes already looking at the peaks! Looks like a crazy ride! I’ll check out round the bay to! Cheers!
Cool to see what the Melbourne scene is like! What mount are you using for the camera?
Yeah it really good! Expect much more coming soon! Its a K-Edge Wahoo mount with a camera mount underneath
Nice one mate
Thanks dude! Plenty of exploring to do that’s for sure!
Yes, Melbourne is a cyclists paradise.
Sure looks like it so far!
Welcome 😊😊
Welcome to Melbourne
Melbourne is pretty great. I hope you get to see Victoria too. The Prom. The Island. Etc. Loads and loads to see
Looks like great fun
Welcome! Great time to be in Melbourne, enjoying exploring the city!
Nice mate, honestly your hardest choice is deciding which rides to do. There honestly are bunch rides every single day of the week. Some head south and are flat and fast, others head north east for the hills. Depending on what you're after, im happy to send you some links for rides/routes around town. FYI they all beat riding back in the UK ;)
Leave gentrifiers
melbourne is in the south of Australia. ofc it has 4 seasons. these brits! :D
Hey welcome! Hope you love it here. I’ve been here 11 years and wouldn’t live anywhere else. Tip as we come into summer: make sure you wear sunscreen every day!
I’m stocked up don’t worry!
@ excellent! Enjoy!
If you're interested in trying some of the best coffee places in Melbourne i recommend: Patrica coffee brewers St. ALI Market lane coffee Path in north Melbourne
Oh yes! Thank you will add them to the list!
Is it hilly? Looking for places to move myself. Cornwall got boring.
no
depends where you are, the east in the further out areas is because of the mountains but aside from that its mostly flat
Compared to London, my initial reaction is yes. Compared to Cornwall, it depends where you are. Started to do a few rides and it’s really enjoyable riding. Will report back when I’ve been into the mountains!
@@OllieJonesMod i live in the far south, literally everything is a hill. i want to move to a flat place to get fit and then move back to a hilly place for mountain biking.
'All the rides here are so early !' 😂 .... I'll be up at 5am tomorrow, and out the door by 5.30 to make a 5.45 Tuesday morning bunch ride ! ...
Yeah this is something I gotta get used to!
"All the rides are so early", because if they aren't you'll get cooked in the sun!
I guess it’ll make more sense when it gets super hot!
Welcome to Melbourne brother!! Would love to get out on a ride with ya, and don't listen to some of these comments. Melbourne is awesome
Thanks dude! Hopefully catch you on the road!! 🤘🏽
Here are some great bunch rides: Tue: NRR, RFWYA Wed: NRRL, Pedla Pace Thu: NRR Fri: AC/DC Sat: Peak Cycles Kinglake, Bike Gallery Hills, Hell Ride Check out the Dandenongs too 😊
No idea what all those acronyms are haha! But I’ll be sure to check out as many as I can!
@@OllieJonesMod NRR is the North Road Ride, I'm not sure where and when they take off though. I think the L just means their long ride
Amazing I’ll look them up!
Is amazing to me anyone moving to Aus would choose Melbourne as the place to be
Why? Always ranked the highest of any Australian city in the "most livable city" world rankings. As a cyclist, the weather is great for riding, plenty of safe routes to ride on. Of course I'm biased, I'm just surprised and interested as to why Melbourne is considered so poorly by you.
@energylab6277 It’s so far a great fit for us!
Definitely feels more liveable than London! And so far what I’ve seen the cycling is great!
Agreed, of all the cities in Aus, melb is bottom tier (I live in melb).
You should probably move then 😂
Not sure why you popped up in my feed, but welcome to Melbourne. I'm sure Beach Rd may've been mentioned during the Curve ride?? If you want to get out with a lot of riders, so there should be a wheel or two to get on the back of, and you like a pretty flat route, Beach Rd is the way to go. I normally go on my own on a Saturday morning, but I rarely ride on my own.
Thanks dude! Yup cruised down the beach road this morning! Maybe catch you there 🤝🏼
@@OllieJonesMod Have a look at this from a Melbournite who moved to Queensland a few years ago. This is his love letter to Melbourne as he departed... (even your beloved Curve gets a mention). ruclips.net/video/Jpz2Rggk6d0/видео.html
Curve Belgie! .... I've had mine for 2 years (2018 model). Absolutely love it. Nice to see you over here in Australia ... Enjoy
Thanks! Loving it so far! And the bike is awesome!
Oh damn good luck with moving here, and glad ur liking Melbs, just remember that melbs is more superior than Sydney, trust me YOU WILL SEE, HEAR,TASTE AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE
F’ng traffic means early rides
Who’s gonna carry the bikes!
Coming to Mallorca?!
Won’t be for a while sadly!
Bro, cardboard box is the future. When I use my EVOC it's always drama, cardboard box and its gold errtime
Maybe there’s something to say they treat it better because it’s more fragile?
@OllieJonesMod I think its because its non descript, a bike bag is clearly for a bike, a box could be many things. Francis Cade thinks it's because they are easier to move and stack than odd shaped bike bags too. Either way never had a bike damaged or lost in a box, in my bag I've had both
