This is the last update on this project. Looking back, this work is sub par to my abilities now, but I'm still happy with the progress that I've made. Update on the test piece and a peek at the first project after a few rows. This was made on a hand made loom. I put together some scrap pieces of lumber and a picture frame, and it actually worked. Tension control was terrible, but it gave me something to work on while I decided that this was something that I liked doing.

Greedo is a 5 year old Bearded Dragon. He loves strawberries, but only gets one a week. This one was big enough to fit in his mouth, but a little too big to swallow whole.

9/3/2023: 60% done with this marathon project. Here's the stats for those that are interested: 97 colors 17.5" wide, currently 17.5" tall. At finish it'll be between 29 and 30 inches tall. 300 beads across, the finished project will be 430 rows high. So far, I've used 78,000 beads. The finished piece will use 129,000 beads. Watch me try to talk and weave at the same time. It doesn't really work, but you might find it fun. I'd already laid out the row and picked the beads up onto my needle/thread. I'm celebrating that I've passed 200 rows of beads installed. Most mistakes CAN be fixed, some are too much to think about. There's one mistake on this piece in one of the 1st rows done, but to take everything out to fix it just wont happen. Thanks for the comments and giving this a look!
I'm always fascinated by your videos. This is truly a unique art form. You are so talented and your patience is amazing. Do you make your own designs or work from a photo? Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mary. I do make my own patterns which mostly come from photos. The patterning process can take days as I decide how many colors I want to use, what colors may have to be substituted, etc. Then the process of finding all of those colors in stock can take weeks and possibly involves more substitutions. An average project involves buying for six or more vendors.
