My name is Michael Meitz. I enjoyed trains ever since I was a kid when I first saw Milwaukee Road Steam Locomotive 261. I watch trains a lot as they roll through even while I take pictures and videos. I also enjoyed car shows, car races especially drag racing, watching a lot of sports games at Westmont High School as well as other special events.
Metra BNSF Rush Hour At Westmont, IL 7/19/24 - 1,000 Subscriber Special
A great kickoff to my weekend by watching trains at the Westmont Metra Train Station during the evening rush hour on the BNSF Racetrack on Friday July 19th, 2024 with several Metra trains, 2 freight trains and an Amtrak Illinois Zephyr rolling through town. The Amtrak Illinois Zephyr was lead by a Dash 8 locomotive I saw by surprise. This video is to celebrate my milestone reaching up to 1,000 subscribers on my RUclips channel as well! My 4th trip of 2024 to the Illinois Railway Museum in the books! This time, I went to see the Day Out With Thomas event at the museum on Sunday July 14th, 2024 as I watched Thomas The Tank Engine, and Percy The Small Engine pull passenger train trips, and also went inside the model railroad museum where I saw a lot of Thomas trains running around the layouts as well. It was a great day!

A day at the Illinois Railway Museum On Sunday June 9th, 2024. This was my 3rd trip to IRM in 2024. The museum also had a steam engineer experience event running the Shay 5 on several throttle time running sessions while Frisco 1630 pulled a steam coach train. I thought 4506 would have that 4160 livery only for CNW day but I guess I was wrong cause I heard that they would take it off
There might be plans to repaint 4506 into her Chicago & Northwestern colors wearing her number of 4160, but they haven't gone public yet until now. Another told me a few months ago.

Why do they run shay 5 on the weekend all of a sudden
They run the shay when it's scheduled to run according to the schedule on the calendar on the IRM website.
