Anymore videos?
Can we use bulbads?
Which garlic varieties make seeds?
There is no sound
Any comparison data on crop yields? (i.e. with and without under-sowing)
"If your neighbours pollen gets into your crops...whatever!" Unless your neighbour is monsanto, then they will sue you for growing genetics they OWN and take your farm as the settlement...
Not throwing shade, just talking about one genuine threat to humanity and nature I LOVE YOU JOSEPH!!
What are the “few varieties of garlic that are closely related to wild garlic” that haven’t lost the ability to make seeds?
funny ai images
No video this month?
Sean with edible acres And akiva silver with twisted tree farm as guests. You could also reach out to former guests and ask if they know anyone that is like them interested in sharing their gardening project. People like David the good and mark Shepard and mark reid surely have gardening friends with ideals and philosophies similar to theirs who would be willing to share their knowledge and experiences. Maybe a post interview survey to email over for guests so that they could get recommendations and thoughts on how it went. Always gathering data in order to improve.
Can we still get involved?
Try replanting cut off carrot tops to regrow: they will often go straight to seed. You may be able to get seed that way. 🦋
Thank you so much for this valuable information 😊
Could you discuss the differences between earth peanut lathyrus tuberosus and and apios america (any or improved varieties) ? When you would use one vs the other and in what context? Thank you !
People will harp on "genociding" plant varieties but turn a blind eye to slaughterhouses.
Now i hate mykfr even more. Gardening and building my soil was all i had in this life, and now youre telling me it was all a waste of work and time and effort? The tunnel of life keeps getting darker and darker...😢
How does Lathyrus tuberosus.compare to apios american? Thanks!
Amazing stuff, I would love to see a guest who has adapted crops to low rainfall areas (semi arid) with ~300-400mm annual rainfall
should bread onions and radish could grow anywhere any season end world hunger and could just drop seeds everywhere food would be everywhere
beautiful
The course on the going to seed website link isn't working in my email. It just goes to a blank page. I've tried several different browsers. Could we just get the course straight on the website?
One amendment I highly recommend for landrace gardening is Chitosan. You can thank me later.
Beautiful in every way!
Wonderful, inspiring!
Got the email, read the blog posts, joined the community, read the book, ordered the seeds, put some in the ground already, & watched a bunch of the videos. It’s been a whirlwind month of learning about landrace gardening. So excited to adapt to my high desert garden.
The meek shall inherit the Earth is in reference to the people who live simply and locally, not too weak people who do not stand up for themselves, but those don't like the Amish, who do everything that is needed for them to survive themselves.
Ive always avoided savjng seeds and breeding because i always thought it would take forveer to get results! Is it really this easy and quick?? Im so excited now
Epigenetics, not evolution. Love the content. Trying to create my own landrace has made gardening fun. It's even better when you learn it's better for your body, not only tasting better. Speaking of, does anyone know of a variety of moschata that is consistently yellow rather than green at the immature stage? I would like to have that trait for a summer squash.
That was a wonderful hour of poetry. Great to hear more about Revilles work after the occasional comment exchange on Scott Halls Syntropy platform. Good on you Shane for engaging with syntropy. We seem to ponder the same challenges and come up with regenerative ideas. BTW here in NZ I heard from further south that their inga goes deciduous in winter. K
A lot of time money and effort could be saved among gardeners and farmers if we got together and went back to the ways of the ancestors of the lands. It's wild how isolated and dependent we've become - I use a tractor alone at my place instead of friends family and neighbors all socializing and working together on common land.
Great talk! The audio makes it tough to listen to though
Thank you Julia! Always learning so much from you. :)
Here is the reource page which lists recommended books, podcasts, and studies goingtoseed.org/nutrients
Thanks for posting this update!
This is so important, thank you for insisting on it!
We need to test various varieties of all fruits and vegetables so we can begin breeding more nutritious crops.
Or do a class on using our senses to determine nutrient density-- color, smell, taste. Give me an idea, thank you :)
Brilliant .. but plz boost volume .. barely audible on iPhone maxed volume .. love Ur work .. prefer to work w Mother Nature not fight herb
Ur iphone must be shyte man
How wonderful to share. So much love for this incredible work helping us to understand how we can connect with these plant genetics
I learned so much listening to this podcast. Specifically, breeding crops for a particular purpose like biomass and deciduous plants so you can grow plants in the cold season. Things I'd never considered before. Thank you.
Is West Papua still under Indonesian military occupation?
Impressive work
Dude! Thank you so much! I cannot believe how hard it is to find info about garlic from seed. Thank you. I'm trying to produce seeds from my Red Chesnok garlic but until now I had no idea what I was doing. Thank you again!
People say magnesium is missing in our food from poor soils Would you say this would also be for potassium or is that not a problem Cart decide if to supplement with it or not as I cart find a natural one
What do you do about cross pollution? I save my seeds. I DONT want them to cross pollinate. My squash cross pollinated and the next generation of fruit tasted terrible so I want to keep true to the seed I plant.
Yah I am out when you refer to your own child as indo plasm
Aw man I want people carrots
Thank you for sharing all of your experience and knowledge with the world. Been recommending your channel and techniques to all of my gardening friends
I’ve been trying to take a more natural approach to my gardening since I first started a few years back. And I’m loving the landrace idea, I want to have a garden that thrives more each year and continuously changes and develops, rather than buying seeds year after year and struggling to get them to start in a foreign environment. I have a lot of respect for the gardeners that put hours of labor into replicating what plants want, but I’d rather get my plants to adapt to my environment.
Great to hear the progress in your projects, Richard. Wish we had a Sentinels here .
Great episode!
