You mention finding significantly more nutrient-dense varieties. What varieties are the most nutrient dense? Is there a list of such varieties published anywhere? Should we be using these varieties to start our grexes?

Joseph thank you so much for sharing your findings. Im in central saskatchewan Canada where the climate is insanley harsh and short season. For so many years have the seed packets been failing me and finally you have set the record straight. I have 5 children now and i need to be able to grow more food not these silly seed packs. Ive watched all your videos and been all over your website. Ive checked the seed companies you mention and can only find a couple of your seed varieties. I figure your seeds are gonna be some of the only ones that have a chance of growing here first year without a bunch of failure years i cant have. Can you help me ?

Writing a popular book really interfered with my ability to grow seeds. To get my varieties, I recommend Giving Ground Seed, and Buffalo Seed Company as the most complete sources. Also, check out the Going To Seed Landrace Seed Share that starts February 1st for the general public. This year, we host a version in Canada.

@@landracegardening5631 thank you friend. I'm very interested in the seed share and did not know theres a Canadian one. I'd love to check that out! It looks like Buffalo would have the most of your seeds but I can never load thier site. Maybe its down.. its the only one I found to not be working from your list. Oh wow may you be blessed I love your work the plant traits that have been lost are fascinating. Im going to be taking your methods to no till and no water levels. I tried a hay mulch garden and got the most success I've ever had finally after like a decade of trying things. I didn't water this last season because i didnt see the leaves wilt. I use sheep now to lay the hay as they eat it in winter. They make it hold more water with thier sewing needle forked feet. Bless your efforts Joseph

My favorite flavored tomato is brandy wine. They don't so well where I live so I don't grow it. Cherokee Purple taste almost as good, is an heirloom, and produces great. What would be great is if I could get a classica (very thick, dry, grainy) with the flavor of a brandy wine for sauces

I didn't get the rationale on corn, are there resources on that? I mean, my understanding is, you can cross as many sweet corn varieties as you want and have a happy landrace of sweet corn. But the minute the neighbours dent corn blows over, you're done, start over.

I'm feeling drawn to sorghum. I like the strength of amaranth as a plant but the porridge has a weird texture since it's so tiny. Those nice big sorghum grains look more versatile. Saw some flatbread recipes using it that would be great, I want to grow bread in the garden but wheat looks like a pain in the ass. I wonder about a perennial grain of some kind.

You could also reach out to former guests and ask if they know anyone that is like them interested in sharing their gardening project. People like David the good and mark Shepard and mark reid surely have gardening friends with ideals and philosophies similar to theirs who would be willing to share their knowledge and experiences. Maybe a post interview survey to email over for guests so that they could get recommendations and thoughts on how it went. Always gathering data in order to improve.
