Best game of my childhood. I would play with my dad as a kid... And often tormented him by cutting his ear off and then dropping it, picking it back up only to continue the cycle to get the gross sound effect for the ear hitting the floor. Ahh, lil 8 year old psycho me.

The Catacombs was probably the most quintessential dungeon crawl in a game EVER. The ambiance of this game is unparalleled to this day. So dark and goth. Topped off with this amazing soundtrack, it is really the pinnacle of an RPG.

A good game is like a short story, compact, quickly in quickly out, but deep and impactful. It doesn't have to be short, just concise.

Diablo 1 is a true horror game. Diablo 2 or 3, (not played 4, but can pretty confidently say it is not horror) Diablo 2 and 3 have gore sure, but it's not the same. Diablo 1 actually made you scared, it was gritty, dark, foreboding, diablo 2 was kinda gruesome but it didn't have the same terror. I think the concept of diablo 1 was better, going down 1 dark dungeon, deeper and deeper; whereas diablo 2 you're running over endless fields, 3 tried to copy 1, but it wasn't scary at all

my family had an electronics store in the late 90s/early00s, I wanted this game but they wouldnt take product off the shelf for me, so they ended up making a bootleg copy of it for me and I never remembered it having music. it wasn't until it became freeware that I heard any music on it.

Какое музло, атмосфера😊 прямо кайф. Помню сидели с корешом по ночам играли, в таком напряжении. А с заставки и музыки, когда Лазаруса показывали, она ближе к концу, аж мурашки пробегали, каков злодей. Сейчас так не сделают, увы. Мультик и розовые пони, вот их курс. Д4 не далеко ушел от д3. Эмоций ноль, нет такого погружения в мир. Всё неестественно и наигранно, мультяшно. Я хотел бы видеть тёмные, кровавые коридоры, с отрубленными конечностями, стоны и крики из-за углов, насаженные на пики людишки, их головы, распятые младенцы и такое вот музло. Чтобы от страха, плакать почти хотелось. Ладно, мечты.

It's the best Diablo game of the series. Dark, depressive, bone-chilling music. The storyline and storytelling are inspiringly damned. Blizzard would do well to re-release this game with just updated graphics - all else exactly the same.

I listen this every night, and at work. It gives me the feeling of being in a post nuclear war world in the far future where ecerything has deteriorated. Wearing a hoodie gives me such stalker and Fallout and Interstellar Vibes. I really like the slight sadness in the first track. Its like it's mourning over the world. Then the second (for me) is struggle, surviving, fighting, enduring...and then the final track sound like pure hope! Its like the new dawn of men, after all this and the believing in humanities progress comes back. You have no idea what masterpiece you composed.

The series ended with diablo 2 LOD for me, the 3 is meh at best and 4 is....

If they did it right, these would make the greatest trilogy known to man as a movie. Itd be up there with Star Wars or Lord of The Rings

This game was extremely ahead of it's time for sure - the soundtrack was fantastic, the enemy AI was decent, the unit rank ups, and design ended up being a staple of future RTS games. What a classic.
