As a follow up to the whole "Bully x good student" thing, you can even add flaws to both characters in order to have them mirror each other. It's a good idea when writing a rivalry dynamic to have traits that makes both characters a foil to one another. For example, the bully might be a very laid back social person, yet a callous person fond of dirty tactics, while the good student would be a kind dude who plays fair, but a socially awkward outcast with anxiety issues. You could work on how these two could put their differences aside, and learn to like eachother. For instance, the good student could directly teach the bully that her bad habits hurt people, and that she would have never been as confident as she is if she was victim of bullying, while the bully teaches the good student that it's okay to at least try. Basically, just treat bullying as a serious issue, treat all serious issues in general as serious too, and give a proper reason as for why they eventually become very close ones. Just spitting out traumatic backstories won't save the situation. Besides, it's going to be very hard to ship bullies and victims together. You may accidentally slip and give toxic messages to your story. *Know what you're doing and whether or not you can and should do it.*

Best thing I can say is a character trait is not a personality. If they are a bully that's a trait not their whole personality. If they're queer that's a character trait not a personality. (I'm also talking to you with this one big studio executive)

Here are stereotypes nobody talks about. The angels and demons. Angels always have blonde hair, yellow/blue eyes, white and yellow clothing, and are always mean And demons always have black/red hair, black/red eyes, black and red clothing, and they are nice. Please give them wear other colors and give them personalities that they are supposed to have.

I think these stereotypes happen because of the mindset that something must be dramaticized for you to catch on to the story or what someone is in the story. Like gay be people have to ALWAYS be shown that they are gay because the creator wants people to truly understand that HEY THIS PERSON IS GAY I NEED YOU TO KNOW THAT!!!! Same goes for relationships, like they want you to directly realize that This guy is a REALLY perverted, over protective boy who "may or may not" like the protagonist. HOWEVER THE HUMAN MIND CANNOT DEAL WITH MYSTERIOUS EVENTS SO THEIR CRUSH ON THE PROTAGONIST IS ALWAYS BEING FORCEFULLY SHOWN WITH THE PROTAGONIST BEING COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS, LIKE WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE "may or may not" WHEN YOU SHOW SO EXPLICITLY!!!!! >:{

Good video! I agree. I'm just going to add. Bullies are usually richer people, because their parents spoil them way too much. If they wouldn't do that, I'm sure a lot of rich people would be nicer. I'm not saying they're all spoiled and bullies, a lot of them are nice too, it's just that many of them are spoiled, and that's a fact.

Enemies to lovers: Characters A & B want each other dead (or expelled/rejected by society) eventually because of some type of conflict or common interest A & B start to tolerate each other and fall in love. (This is like Romeo and Juliet if they hated each other in the beginning and tried to kill each other) Rivals to lovers: Very similar to enemy’s to lovers except one key difference ENEMYS TO LOVERS MEANS THEY HATE EACH OTHER TO THE POINT WHERE THEY WANT THE OTHER DEAD OR HARMED rivals to lovers however can be two people in a friendly competition (like two strangers on a game show) Enemies to friends to lovers: A & B want each other dead (etc.) but after a conflict or common interest they become friends (platonic love do not forget to show the friends part or else it’s just Enemies to lovers) after being friends they eventually develop romance feelings for each other (softer version of Enemies to lovers). Enemies to friends: A & B hate each other but then slowly become closer and become friends. Lovers to enemy’s: A & B are in love but due to something unfortunate happening in their relationship (cheating, stressful situations, money issues, etc.) they start to dislike each other till they want them dead. Lovers to friends to enemies: A & B love each other but realize that they would be better off as friends, after becoming friends they realize how shitty the relationship was and start to hate each other. Childhood friends to lovers: A & B are close friends that eventually develop feelings for each other. A love triangle: A is in love with B but B is in love with C, and C is in love with A. (At least one has to be gay/bi/pan) A love square: A is in love with B but B is in love with C, C is in love with D, and D is in love with A. (Can be two guys two girls) The Love A: A is in love with B & C, but C & B are in love with A. (Can be polyamory or just a normal rivalry between B & C) Toxic relationships: A is an abusive partner to B. B doesn’t want to believe it because they got into a relationship (or have lived with B as their child/A is dependent on B) with A when A was kind and less abusive. Also -No real communication. -gaslighting, -“yeah but --- did “x” thing for me like a month ago so they must love me!” -Setting unrealistic expectations (“you can’t talk to other girls/guys because you might cheat on me!” [if you trust your partner and love them you can tell them it makes you a bit uncomfortable but wtf]) Heathy relationships: -Open communicate, -no fear of consequence when asking personal questions or setting boundaries, -Setting reasonable boundaries like (I’m willing to do this and this but I’m not comfortable with this type of intimacy.) Bad boy/girl: a rule breaking person that want to cause trouble. Gay guy: a guy that’s attracted to other guys Gay girl: a girl that is attracted to other girls Bisexual person: someone who is attracted to two or more genders.
