Hello Everyone, I'm Evita. My channel is all about my passion for gardening. I am a DIY gardener and love creating beautiful spaces in the garden. Flowering beds, hedges, topiary, herbs, fruit trees, berries, rockery, pond and a potager can be found in my garden. I like to create flower arrangements from the blooms I pick and make ceramic decorations. Since I have a few fruit trees and lots of berries, I frequently bake or do preserves. I sometimes incorporate some of my other hobbies like painting and doing glass artwork in connection with my gardening ideas. German travel will also be included sometimes.
I'm in Germany Zone 8A.
I hope I can inspire some of you to do gardening, wherever you may live.
Normally, I upload 2 times a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, German Time Zone but life happens, so I might miss my schedule once in awhile or upload more when I find some interesting contents on the way.

Autumn Chores/ Pruning the Red Tip Photinias and Clematis Vines
Hello everyone! Two 30 year old clematis vines need a hard prune. I learned something new....never let the clematis vines grow without trimming the old vines off every once in awhile:-). The good thing is, I have more organic material to decompose slowly and eventually make my soil better. Thank you for stopping by! - Evita

Please join us for a walk! Sunday was the only dry day last week and we decided to go to Mainz and take a walk along the Rhine River. Sunday is a rest and family day in Germany and all shops are closed. Restaurants, theaters, concert halls and most tourist attractions are open. I would love to visit your garden. Topiaries are my fave and I always look for specimens at that garden center that I can turn into topiaries. Recently I purchased a camellia to train into an espalier and a arborvitae into a spiral but I have to wait for it to grow.
I wouldn't mind showing you my garden, send me a message if you ever come close to Frankfurt:-). Buying topiaries are so expensive, that's why I ended up training my own. It's also a lot of fun doing it. A camellia espalier would look spectacular! I love arborvitae, they grow here too but some foliage turn brown in their later years and camellia would only grow and thrive in a Winter garden. Have a wonderful weekend! - Evita

Yes, the "Mönchpfeffer" as the Germans call it were used by the Monks to suppress their sex drive. They ate the fruit and slept on the leaves. Nowadays, it is used to treat hormonal imbalance for women:-).

I love creating cozy garden rooms and looking for rare plants is one of my hobbies, which is sometimes frustrating since most of the plants that I love needs acidic soil and we don't have that here:-). @@evitaslittleparadise Our soil here is sandy and very acidic . Not all plants similar on what you grow can’t grow on my garden, it’s very frustrating . I wasted lots of money buying perennials that did not even come back😂. Learned my lesson so I copied what my neighbor’s planted to make sure plants (perennials) that I buy will come back😀 . The rest I just buy annuals . My husband love junipers so we planted different kind, while I love something that will give me blooms and Colors but not so crazy of Red flowers . I love pink , purple, yellow and white Color’s of flowers . Have a good evening Evita 🌻
@@ebanggm I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I learned my lesson too. I read a lot of books about gardening and landscaping, and check what substrate a plant needs before I even buy them. Red flowers aren't my choice either but if I get one as a gift, I try to find a space for it in the garden.☺ Have a nice day! - Evita
