    I’ve noticed a lot of ppl call measures “bars”-I learned that between the bars is a measure and in that space you count whatever the time signature tells you, and the bars are the dividing lines as shown here in your video.

    Being a musician, I have a pair of custom molded ones for nearly 20 years and only just found out from earplug reviews that I should have had them redone every 5 years because the anatomy of ears change as we get older and my old earplugs sometimes leak sound in because of poorer fit. I am looking for new musician's earplugs because I'm going into my 3rd year playing Taiko, and I'm strongly considering Earasers.

    I took percussion fundamentals a couple of years ago -- this was a very good refresher! I'm a preservice educator doing practicum right now. Could you talk about Orff instruments? Like how they correlate to standard instruments, how they're different, what their purpose is, etc?

    In december I will be giving a concert where I have to play 3 marimba solo (on my 4.3 octave marimba). The theme of the concert is 'from dark to light'. Does anyone have a recommendation for pieces to play (preferably in a specifik order). Thanks in advance!! (The pieces I already have played are; Yellow after the rain, rain dance, suite mexicana, waves, katamiya, Ghaiana (and michi, but I haven't finished this one yet)).

    What is missing from this story is that while Armand was the face of Zildjian in the US, Robert worked behind the scenes, keeping the company's overseas reputation intact and establishing new markets. The New Brunswick factory was created to handle the overflow of cymbal orders and to make the more difficult and time consuming models. Robert was also the one who got the K Zildjian trademark back from Gretsch. Then, he moved all of the craftsmen from the Istanbul factory and had them making Ks in Canada. So yeah, I could see how he'd be a bit bitter.

    Most likely, the French horn part is placed closer to the woodwinds in the symphony score because traditionally it's part of the woodwind quintet, thanks to its mellow tone. This way it can be considered a medium between woodwinds and brass instruments, being able to be relevant to both groups.

    Because of each brother trying to "one-up" each other, I believe they made both Zildjian and Sabian better and hence, the two best cymbal manufacturers in the world! Competition does that...brotherly rivalry takes it to the new heights!

    Hi! My school just had a gift from some local organization and we got a few instruments for our School's marching band. One of them is a Marimba, around 3 octaves long i think? Just had them a few months ago, and i was soo happy to have the skill for it, since our marching band officers told me that I was the one who's gonna play the marimba from now on. Just came across your video and thought it was very helpful, since i still feel new around my Marimba despite using it for many band practices. I didn't know that a Marimba was basically a percussion instrument so i guess that makes me a percussionist? Still have no idea about that one. Just wanna say thank you for creating a video about these cool instruments, definitely will check out ur other vids man! -sending love from the Philippines 🎉

  • @mgsilverhead9636
    @mgsilverhead9636 8 месяцев назад

    Ummmmmmm yes, good info. But you put the cart b4 the horse. It's named (not nickname) "F clef" bc the SYMBOL ITSELF is a modified LETTER F!! (same with G clef, whoahhh)

  • @crystal.machinery
    @crystal.machinery 8 месяцев назад

    Mmmm bass clef is more the nickname for the F Clef, especially as the clefs can be moved along the staff to account for the ranges of various instruments. Treble clef is the nickname for the G Clef, and alto clef is the nickname for C Clef. This is basic music theory.

    • @BernardGreenberg
      @BernardGreenberg 8 месяцев назад

      The C-clef, too, can be put on any line, and in choral scores older than 1900 frequently is. It is "alto" only on the middle line (where violas, too, use it), but first line up for sopranos, second line down for tenors, etc. The G clef can be moved, too, in earlier music.
