Hi Joe! It's nice to hear from you! How are things down under? Yes, ha ha, we go all out for Halloween in the US. It seems Halloween rolls out after the 4th of July!! It was fun making the video which was also my first attempt at editing! 😬😁

That's so cool that you are from Daytona Beach. It's such a great town. The Volusia Mall is a nice place to go to beat the heat. It's fun to walk around and check out the stores. Hopefully it will be around for many years to come. I hear housing is going to be built where Macy's is to help revitalize the Mall!

@@jwalker11 I heard that Macy's in the Volusia mall was out of business 4 years ago.

@@jwalker11 Wow! I've been there so long that I didn't go to sears or Macy's but me and my parents walked past it to go somewhere in the mall a few years ago.

Yeah, I agree, it is usually quite busy compared to many malls which are barely hanging on or have closed. It could be that Mall at Millenia and the Florida Mall get the theme park crowds and it is just a very busy area where people have the money to spend. I prefer the indoor malls which are more pleasant to shop in when it's hot or raining. I know online shopping has something to do with it, on the other hand, there are newer Outdoor malls being built and they seem to thrive. I have wondered if the cost of the up keep and not having to pay the extra $$ for air conditioning of an indoor mall are a factor with the Mall owners.

@@jwalker11 Those are all good points. One (former) mall that supports most of them is the old Colonial Mall. First founded in the late 50s, it was just a glorified strip mall with little interior. But the 2nd phase in the mid 60s turned it into Orlando's first "true" indoor mall. (Sorry, Winter Park mall fans. I know you think yours was first, but it wasn't.) Anyway, the 3rd expansion was the beginning of the end for Colonial. Having to walk through Jordan Marsh to access the other side of the mall was a bit off-putting to say the least. The real punch to the gut was the opening of the first phase of Fashion Square mall. In the end, Fashion Square did to Colonial mall what Colonial did to the old downtown businesses. And now, ironically, I think Millenia and South Florida mall have done pretty much the same thing to Fashion Square.

@@Vulpine407 That is very interesting! I don't believe I have ever been to any of these malls. I had forgotten about Jordan Marsh. I remember the Jordan Marsh store and Burdines at the Dadeland Mall in Miami. Side note- I used to live in the Virginia area and recently heard that the Tyson's Corner Mall in McLean is undergoing renovation and adding new stores...I guess where the money is, malls will live on and thrive! =)
