Hike The Parks
Добавлен 2 окт 2012
I’m a band director who loves hiking!
Backpacking Olympic National Park
This backpacking trip took us from Third Beach Trail head to Toleak Point in Olympic National Park. It was my wife’s first time backpacking. This 13.3 Mile round trip can be tedious. The hiking rout can be dependent upon the tide. Hitting it at the right time is important if you want to do some tide pooling. This hike includes forests, beaches, ladders, and rope climbing and plenty of wildlife!

Due to blisters on my big toes, I took the day off from hiking and enjoyed other attractions in Glacier National Park.
Glacier National Park Hiking, Cracker Lake

First weekend in June 2024 - Day 2 - I hiked from the Swift Current Lodge to Cracker lake. The hike is over 13 miles round trip and 1,712 feet of elevation gain. Because the hike was early in the season it required crossing several avalanche zones. There were many lengthy and deep snow crossings but because I left early in the morning, I was able to walk across the snow without post-holing with...
Glacier National Park Hiking - Two Medicine to Old Man Lake - Day 1

First weekend in June 2024 - I spent one night at Lake McDonald before going around the south side of the park and hiking from Two Medicine up to Old Man Lake. I experienced several feet of snow starting about a mile from the lake and eventually turned around as did not feel it was safe to attempt Pitamakin Pass. The Pitamakin Trail could not be found and was under several feet of snow.

Backpacking Mount Whitney on a High Snow Year with Dad Aug 2-5, 2023

Earlier this year my 67 year old dad (who has also had double knee repacement) asked if I could be his guide up Mt. Whitney since I climbed it last year. Mt Whitney is the highest Mountain in the contiguous United States at 14,505. The problem this year was the massive amount of snow. The area received over 300% of the normal snow it usually receives and it was still sticking around. We pushed ...

July 30 2023, Yosemite Surprisingly, the gate to the May Lake trail head was open and we were able to drive to the trailhead. After reaching May Lake, Dad and I continued to Mt. Hoffman. It was not in the original plans for the day, but it was a fun hike. Note… the trail to Mt. Hoffman is unmarked and not maintained by Yosemite National Park. It is often chose your own route.

I've never hiked the coast south of Third Beach, so this was fun to watch! I've hiked Rialto Beach north for several miles, as well as visited Second and Third Beach and Shi-Shi Beach. Beautiful with all of its tidepools, driftwood, and eagles. Thanks for bringing us along! Jenny Seattle, WA 🦅🐙🐡🐠🐟🦭🐬🌲🥀

Hi
This is one of the best videos of this trail. Thank you for sharing. Good job!
Spectacular peaks! Wow!
Lots of snow this year in Glacier. Thanks for sharing.
Lots of early season possibilities. I lived near and hiked/climbed Glacier for 35+ years. Some of my favorites include hiking across snowfields in June to access Granite Park Chalet, Scenic Point, Mt. Reynolds summit, and the Quartz loop from Bowman..... Usually see no one. And that's a huge plus.
Absolutely gorgeous work man, scenery is just spectacular! Absolutely spectacular 👏👏
