"All Lives Matter"? Are we there yet? #BLM
I hope I've made my meaning clear. I hope I've made my views easy to understand. I absolutely stand with the Black Lives Matter movement. That's my stance. I hope to explain why you should make the switch from saying "All lives matter" to "Black lives matter", and why it makes sense for our future.

Bad news, I'm afraid. Changes are happening, just not the good kind yet.

A bit of a ramble about honesty, living with people, and being alone. Sorry again for the quality, my camera change failed last night so I'm still with my phone! And I ran out of space for video too so there's a slightly abrupt departure...

A longer video but for a good reason. Again, sorry for the bad quality, I'm setting up a new camera tonight. It gets a bit personal halfway through and that's due to an apology I needed to make. This was a necessary step for me today.

It's time for change. Thank you ever so much to Sonja's Adventures on Facebook which I discovered today and which basically birthed this video. I just grabbed my phone and smacked record because it had to come out. That's why the quality isn't great and I look like death warmed up with a candle; I did not prepare in any way for this. If you have anything you would like to say, please do so in t...

I’m not the best at words but I’m going to try and explain my opinion on it all. I partially understand what the BLM movement is doing but it frustrates me how they’re going about it. I get wanting to be treated equally - I agree 100%. But we’re not seeing that. I can’t help but feel like we’re becoming more divided - separating into groups of what we are rather. So many people are talking but so few are actually listening. As in really listening and understanding other points of view. I got told in my groups of friends that I wouldn’t understand because I’m a white girl...but isn’t that kind of statement what we’re trying to get away from? To get away from labelling based on our skin or gender? Yet I’m seeing more and more hate. Tags such as ACAB - All Cops Are Bastards...that kind of mentality is neither helpful or healthy. All people should be treated equally. What happened was that there was a lapse in the system that allowed a sick man to continue working in an area where we needed someone of a more sound mind. Regular mental welfare checks on our forces, stop witch hunting one another...to focus on a goal and achieve that goal. To start treating each other as people on equal footing. I’m sorry if this came across as aggressive or anything - definitely not my intention, Just my two cents. I apologise if it upsets anyone at all as I’m not the greatest with words. Hope everyone is safe and well in this hard time x

That lapse in the system has been going on for years though. This is what things have come to. Those words got ignored for so long that this situation has come out of desperation over wanting to be heard when people weren't listening. I do agree that people who should be coming together are dividing themselves, but not in the same way I think. I don't believe that the distance between us racially has grown due to this, so many have come together to stand united against oppression. But I do think that some people are getting bogged down by other arguments when really, working together is what is going to solve this.

Lergle Life My issue is that if we want to stop racism then we need to stop making everything about race. It doesn’t make sense to me to say that we shouldn’t be racist and yet a great number of black lives matter supporters use it as a platform to bash non black people. There are a number who don’t do that of course and use it for what it should be used for - being a voice for those who do face racism and creating an equal platform for all colours. We should be able to to do that without putting down another race. Combating racism with racism isn’t the answer for me. I say all lives matter not as a way to diminish what black lives matter do - but because I want all races to be treated equal and get the same attention. We also need a better system for police officers because they do have to deal with so much - when there’s a murder, a domestic, a break in, a kidnapping : they’re the ones on the line. A better system needs to be in place to not only keep them in check mentally and physically but deal with officers who abuse their power properly. The guy that killed George Floyd clearly had issues that weren’t properly addressed and dealt with. But his shitty actions shouldn’t then equate to all cops being like that. There needs to be a better system in place.

@@LittleMsJester01 I agree that a better system does need to be in place to stop this from happening. There needs to be reform. Rigorous background checks, close mental health monitoring. And a change in attitude where bad cops don't get protected because "cops don't tell on other cops" as well.

Sorry if you can hear a weird tapping sound throughout the video, I don't know where that's come from and I don't know how to fix it. It's not on the original video.
