Thanks for taking the time to listen! I actually wrote this piece right after listening to and getting inspired by Debussy's "La cathédrale engloutie". I loved the ambiance of that piece and wanted to try and recreate the same ambiance in my own way. As for the names of the pieces, the ones that aren't Greek/Latin and don't seem to be English are generally archaic English. Each title is an approximation of what the piece is trying to evoke. Allurance, for example, is archaic English referring to a feeling of mysterious fascination. I don't know how or why, but despite having played classical piano for ~10 years, I find writing for piano far harder and far more time consuming that writing for a whole orchestra. As a result, I've yet to write a solo piano piece. I do want to eventually write one though, so I'm adding solo piano sections to my pieces as practice. I've written the first minute of my next piece, and all I will say is that it I really like the solo piano parts in it so far (hopefully that holds up till it's done haha)

For starters, thank you for the kind words. I gave Majula's theme a listen, and really like the ambience of it. I've yet to play a Soulsborne game, but I always enjoy the tracks I hear from them, such as Gehrman's theme. As for your questions: 1: An icosaplex is a 4-dimensional polytope/geometric shape. I'm a bit of a math nerd, so when coming up with cool sounding terms which relate to my other hobbies, icosaplex is what came to mind haha 2: I don't have any formal training in music composition, but I was a self taught classical pianist for about 10 years, which gave me a huge leg up when learning composition, as it developed my "musical senses". In terms of how I learnt to compose, all I really did was continuously write music and pick up things as I went. It sounded bad at first, but I'd notice things like "the strings sound nice if I do this" or "the oboe sounds good in this register" and so on. The more I wrote, the more things I picked up, which led me to my current skill level. 3: The three biggest influences to my writing would be the classical piano I learnt, the OSTs of games I play, and RUclips channels like 8-Bit Music Theory. Beethoven, Bach, Erik Satie, Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich cover most of the pieces I learnt on piano, whilst the music from the Zelda series is the largest influence on my writing style in terms of games. 4: Apart from the video (which uses Piano-VFX), everything is done in MuseScore 4. I use both MuseSounds and Spitfire Labs VST for the instruments, and MuseFX for simple effects. The final product is simply the MuseScore file exported as mp3/wav.
