Cassettes have little going for them -- wow, flutter, misaligned heads, speed issues etc -- those of us who grew up with them know what a nightmare they are. However, the mass-produced Walkman-type converters can work if you add 80-200 hz bass (in moderation) with a shook-loose cassette (i.e. rewind and forward the tape a lot). That said, I'm surprised they haven't came up with a deck which does the equivalent. After all, there are those of us who have SERIOUS work on old cassettes and would greatly enjoy doing this without the hassles.

I have a 67 Dakota red mustang it has a brass nut but other than that it’s stock. It’s wonderful I love the playability and feel. It’s unlike any reissue I’ve ever seen.

It is not 600W, it is 600W peak/300W RMS. The marketing is misleading. The 600W Peak is a measure of how much strain the unit is rated for in the case of a surge. It is 300W max at constant input.

I can tell you the thought of grimey strings before and then clean after mentally makes a difference but after checking the time stamp as a listener ..not so much. But look at it this way. It will sound better after because you will be more comfortable playing and not thinking about how shitty your stale ass strings feel under your fingers sliding across tarnish and dirt and you will probaly play better and that will sound better. You will have less of that self concious thought of " these strings are dead at I sound like shit" . Idk, you be the judge. Dead strings actually give a negative vibration thru my body imo and playing is more of a burden rather than a theraputic practice. I swear I can feel it in the bones of my forearms when they are dead. I think this will def pull the grime off the bottom that builds up. If im playing a lot I like fresh strings at least once a month but I'm also self employed and playing has to take a back seat so I can eat. I am definitely buying this product so I can clean em' up when I get the impulse to play some Emil Enebro or Tommy Emmanual which is what let me to look up cleaning strings. For anyone else on that hunt just try bar keepers friend. Pull seran wrap beneath them down the fret board because it is a little messy but it works really well. I work on boats and keep my Guild on my little trojan motor yacht I work from and keep my tools on and the moisture in the air on the lake kills strings fast but that stuff shines them up they sound pretty great after. Combining it with this tool might be the real game changer. Also if your blue collar like me washing your hands and storing in it's case will make them last longer. I hang mine on the wall by my v-berth bed and also tend to pass it around the docks on friday nites like a slutty step sister so I go thru strings fast.

Someone gave these to me for free and I put them on for shits and giggles. Honestly I don’t mind the flaking as much as it ends up giving a cool sparkle effect to the guitar. I’ll keep them on til they break as per usual

Often times the light guitars have very very nice sustain, dense wood often sounds more snappy (maple nevk/fretboard)

They say out of the box on iPhones they work great . Just scored one for $105 on Ebay! Very stoked! It looks like 'a "medium" size, like champ size. I've been playing a 50 year old Kustom, and they are clean sounding like Vox is. They use great speakers too. Trying to juxtapose speakers. The pathfinder would have been perfect in my high school bedroom. This handy dandy computer flowchart Valvetronix nu-tube stuff with modeling and a headphone jack was inconceivable for young players in the 80's. Looks doable though, thanks for the demo.

I've been really frustrated with this amp - bought a demo from my local music store but came with no instructions and I can't seem to find a good tutorial showing me how to use the tone room software. Vox's website doesn't even offer a owner's manual I can download??? If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it!!! - Cheers!

If I want to bow a guitar, I'd buy an arpegionne or bowed guitar. It's a sort of cello with a 6 string guitar neck. Goes back to the days of the baroque era. There are some videos on RUclips of bowed guitars. Worth looking at, though

I got the same machine, but after doing 4 cassettes it started clicking. It is like it is trying to reverse the tape while playing. It is even doing it while rewinding. I think it is a useless piece of crap.

The Monel strings have no overtone so they sound really great for thumpy old timey country music like Hank Williams Senior.

From what I’ve seen on other videos where you could hear a difference, it should be under the strings closer to the nut, not at the top of the headstock.

I'd like to see the results on a better instrument and with a better testing method.
