"Factory MUSEUM" is what it is, not the factory itself. Well the building location is what it was technically, but I was expecting to walk through a factory which seemed a bit deceiving. That's fine though. They no doubt worked hard in putting it all of this together and keeping the message alive so that more than makes up for it.

A good video! When visiting another city or country, every educated person must visit a museum. Visiting museums is very useful and fascinating. A love for the "eternal" and "beautiful" is awakened in a person, the beginnings of greatness and respect for history are inculcated. It is impossible to turn the excursion into something banal, ordinary and boring. The person should be a comprehensively developed person, cultured, educated, critically and analytically thinking, with knowledge of foreign languages. It is the knowledge of a foreign language that opens wide prospects for a person to realize his/her creative potential, career and financial growth. I would like to recommend the practical training course by Yuriy Ivantsiv "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language", where you can find lots of useful information how to learn a foreign language quickly. Learn a foreign language and realize your creative potential on an international scale! The international community needs creative ideas! Thanks to the author of the channel for a very fascinating tour!

Thanks for this program that debunks the pernicious myths about the 106th straightforwardly and with dramatic evidence, especially about how fiercely and courageously the surrounded members of the 422nd and 423rd Rgmts. fought the Germans -- in their first combat action! -- before honorably surrendering. And their bravery would go on while they were POW, most famously in the case of Master Sgt. Roddy Edmonds of the 422nd, who, at the risk of his life, refused, as ordered by the Nazis, to identify 200 Jewish American sergeants under his command as senior noncommissioned officer. In 2016, Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial in Israel, declared the late Master Sgt. Edmonds as Righteous Among the Nations, the first American soldier of World War 2 to be so honored. My father-in-law, the late PFC John Hughes Atsatt, served in the 81st Engineer Combat Battalion (ECB) of the 106th under Lt. Col. Thomas Riggs. During the Bunker Boys program, there is a piece of audio where a man speaks about being taken POW, then escaping from confinement and returning to his outfit about 23/28 days later. That's Lt. Col. Riggs, speaking in a postwar interview. Unfortunately, there is no caption identifying the speaker. Later on, Carl, you praise the gallantry of the 168th Engineer Combat Battalion in the vital Prumerberg ridge defense of the two roads into St. Vith; however, you forget to mention that elements of the 81st ECB, about 115 out of the 350 engineers Riggs commanded, were also part of the scratch force he assembled (John Atsatt was among them as a member of Headquarters and Service Company of the 81st ECB). According to a 1975 article by Thomas Riggs, he deployed the 168th along the skirmish line outside St. Vith to the north, and the 81st to the south. They held the Fifth Panzer Army for five days! (Riggs mentions in his article that the was forced to remain awake from the beginning the Bulge at 5:30 AM, Saturday, 16 December, until Tuesday, 19 December, when he finally was able to get some sleep. Thirty-six hours.) Carl, your admiration for their courage of the Golden Lions s obvious. The Stars and Stripes newspaper mentioned the St. Vith holding action on its front page on Thursday, 21 December 1944. And the men of the 81st and 168th ECBs were later recognized with a Distinguished Unit Citation for their gallant holding action, and Lt. Col. Riggs was awarded the Silver Star. May I suggest that Carl and Reg revisit the Battle of St. Vith but focus on the Prumerberg defense? It's a hell of a story, and Lt. Col. Riggs's adventures as a POW are a bonus. The diaries kept by various participants in the Prumerberg defense, available on the 106th website, are exciting resources.

My uncle, James Blythe was in D Co, 424th, 106th Division. From Tennessee, he got to visit home in LaGuardo while the Division trained in the Tennessee Maneuvers nearby. His company was heavy weapons, with members parceled out to support other infantry companies in the battalion. At the start of the Bulge, his unit was overrun with every single soldier killed... except my uncle. He ran and hid behind enemy lines for days until finding a friendly unit. The war never left him; for years afterward he received letters from KIA families wanting information about their loved ones.

@@TheBunkerBoysShow btw sirs, it was my father, William Zewe who accompanied the officer, when they surrendered. It was the English who liberated his POW camp. Dad weighed between 80 and 90 lbs. For whatever reason the Brits did not return Dad to the US. They kept him in England for 3 months...interrogating him....maybe our last name, Zewe? Thought he might have been a german....Anyway, Dad was angry about it. So much, he turned down a purple heart the US gave him. He also told me that before his liberation the Germans weren't doing so hot...food was scarce. He and other prisoners were fed water and bread made out of potato peels and sawdust. He vowed that any family, he'd have, would never go hungry. Dad and my godfather signed up together and were captured together. I'm not good remembering companies and such, like the gentlemen commenting here...if I find the info, I'll post...My mum's 94...maybe she can tell me...Thank you again for your video...Dad didn't like to talk much about his experience....He was a great dad and I miss him...All that trauma and he held it together...took good care of his large family...7 children.
