Wild Field Mouse - Tame But Speedy!
Просмотров 385Год назад
I captured this video footage of a wild wood mouse/field mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus) while out on a walk near my house in southern Scotland in the United Kingdom. They are quite common but it is unusual for any wildlife to hang around while you film them which makes this encounter special. Here are some facts from The Woodland Trust (www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/blog/2022/03/types-of-uk-mice/): The...

Cornwall, located in the south west of England is one of the most popular destinations for domestic and foreign tourists in the United Kingdom. It is a peninsula jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean with the English Channel to the south and Bristol Channel to the north. Oysters from Cornwall, Buying, Shucking, Eating
Просмотров 113Год назад
Cornwall (Kernow) in the United Kingdom has some of the best seafood, fish and shellfish anywhere. Oysters are farmed at Porthilly or can be found wild in the Atlantic Ocean. In this short video I buy six locally caught oysters from "Fresh From The Sea" in Port Isaac and shuck them at home. This is trickier than it looks. You need a knife with a non-flexible blade. Inser the tip into the gap in...

BNFL: World Winning Solutions for the Nuclear Industry
Hi Doug. I’m the Heritage Officer at Sellafield and would dearly love to obtain a professional copy of this film for preservation in our Nuclear Archive. Would you be able assist? Keep well. Phil
Hello Phil. Thanks for getting in touch. I am surprised that you don't already have the content in your archive because I took it from the CD-ROM included with the BNFL 1999 graduate recruitment pack entitled: “BNFL: World Winning Solutions for the Nuclear Industry”. I still have the original CD-ROM and you're welcome to it. Let me know the address to ship it. Regards. Doug
How many hours did you spend there? Looks like lots to do
We entered at 3.30 p.m. and I think we left by 5.30 p.m. so around two hours including 10-15 minutes at the driving simulators. We could have stayed much longer if we had read more of the display information so I would allow two hours minimum. I was more focussed on filming the cars, components, etc. for this video than reading written information.
I actually visited the F1 Exhibition today it was definitely worth it
Great. Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great video Doug. Looked like a great day out and made a great video 👍
That's nice but overdoing it a bit no? 😆
Nice video Doug. I like all the close up details of the cars.
@@KeethStapleton Thanks Keeth. I do try hard to get cinematic style footage. 👍🏻😀
Fantastic video man, great editing. It felt like I was actually there! 🙂
@@Adam_Halford Thank you so much. 🙏🏻😀
Goood music ❤
Long Train Runnin' instrumental tracks only by The Doobie Brothers. 👍🏻😀
@@itsdougslife I know 👍perfect for that clip.
Wow! What an amazing place and a great collection of cars.
It was a great day out. It sure exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to return and try one of the driving experiences myself. 👍🏻😀
Hey Doug, great videography and editing on this video! Very professional looking.
Thanks man! I do try to grab pro shots when I'm filming. 👍🏻😀
That's a really comprehensive video, thanks for sharing. I wasn't sure if this place was worth the journey but I'll probably check it out next time we're in London. 🙂
No problem Adam. Thanks for leaving a comment. It is certainly worth the journey from anywhere! 👍🏻😀
Turn view 180 degrees for an even better view if this video. Dr. K never fails to impress with his playing and personal.
Hi. Check out my long format video (4m 30s duration) of his performance today: ruclips.net/video/ejRNgVvB8tQ/видео.html
@@itsdougslife Ok will do. Thanks.
Great vid view/angle of camera !!
Thanks. I was on my way out after filming his performance and he was still going entertaining a 2 year old child so I got this footage too! 😁
Beautiful
Thank you. 😀
Was on this train last week it’s very cool
Nice! We gave Cornwall a miss this year to take the kids on their first trip abroad but we'll be back. 😀
I was at Charlotte Mason from 1969 to 1972 and stayed in Low Nook for my first year. Had a drink and a Rule roll in the pub nearby. My husband stayed at the Waterwheel Guest House for a short time as it was a bit rough in those days run by an Irish lady.
Lovely memories Denise, thanks for sharing. 😀
Love to visit Frigiliana!
It's beautiful.
We’re up here atm, it really is lovely.
Fantastic. Send my regards to Ambleside. 😀
well done 👏
Thank you! 😃
June - 2024: I have been using Boot Fix Glue for many years, for many items besides shoes and sandals, with a significant success rate. I've repaired many broken eye glass frames, broken "bridge" pieces of swim goggles, broken car glove box, broken drier lint remover, broken handles on ceramic cups, etc. The one thing different (from above) that I do, is to always hold the pieces tightly together for 90-120 seconds. Also, while I have not used alcohol to clean surfaces, I do use a rag to remove dirt, and where practical I use sandpaper to scratch the surfaces to be joined.
I always hold the two parts together too; I guess that didn't make the cut. 👍🏻😀
I figured out after all these years, and nobody knows this but... the bloody tower could have got its name from a yeoman Warder dealing with a hard of hearing merchant Merchant: where do you want this crate? Yeoman warder: just put it in the tower Merchant: sorry? Yeoman warder: I said put it in the tower Merchant: come again? Warder: I SAID PUT IT IN THE BLOODY TOWER!! ARE YOU DEAF?!
😂👍🏻
Beautiful place and village
Yes, we love it. 👍🏻😀
Fantastic little town.
It really is! 😀❤️
He's a great guide
He still has his old uniform on.
I went there last year and it was amazing
Little bro built like a chicken nugget.
Adorable little fella!
Here is another wood mouse fact: it is TOO CUTE! Look at that huge head and tiny body 🥺 Thank you for sharing! ☺
How do you setup the runs in google maps?
It has been about 9 months since I last looked at it but if I recall correctly, it's as straightforward as planning an A-B route. Google maps only allows a limited number of waypoints so on longer runs you have to make these count by strategically selecting them to force Google to calculate your preferred route over any it wants to suggest. It can be challenging. I have only managed to record one video on the first 16 runs so far but I planned out the first 80 Bluebook runs on Google Maps in preparation for recording more videos.
Can you take out the blade?
The blades are fixed on these Master Replicas edition sabers. I need to repair a Luke Skywalker version due to a failure in the LED strip but I'm apprehensive about attempting this myself because the blade is fixed in position.
Hi Doug! Fascinating. Where did you get this material?
I collected the vintage information booklets pictured in the video thumbnail during 23 years working in the U.K. nuclear industry; first for BNFL at Calder Hall and Chapelcross works from 2000 to 2007 which ultimately became British Nuclear Group. I then moved to British Energy at Torness nuclear power station which is now part of the EDF group.
I went here. Loved it.
Would LOVE to be there 😍😍😍 Like
Cool video which brings back memories. I also attended this exhibition.
Looks like old ones because update one 2022 totally different
I used an older reference I found online, set up the runs in Google Maps then made some adjustments based on permitted routes in November 2022. I then bought the WizAnn Blue Book updates in December and checked them. I didn't find too many differences so I dispute that these are "totally different" as you say. The basic runs haven't varied dramatically over the years as road layouts and permitted access has evolved. The video was not intended to be a study aid for anyone learning The Knowledge, just a taster for people like me who are casually interested in what is involved. 👍🏻😀

Wow 😮that lightsaber looks amazing.
The Master Replicas lightsabers are well made and are highly regarded by enthusiasts. I have a Disney park Kylo Ren lightsaber and the quality is inferior to this in several respects.
Where can I get blue book thanks
The two main suppliers of Knowledge of London learning material are Taxi Trade Promotions and WizAnn Knowledge school: www.taxitradepromotions.co.uk/green-badge-blue-book-runs.html www.wizann.co.uk/runbooks
@@itsdougslife thanks
Nice
Thanks
My advice for Rise of the resistance would be say that you're space journalist I'm the first order would fall for that.
I'll be sure to try that if I ever return. I don't think any of those characters are giving interviews to be honest. 😆
Ha ha. I filmed it in cinematic mode on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I tried to replicate that warm, comforting soft focus style deployed to such great effect by Nigella's production team! 👍🏻😀
This is coffee, Nigella Lawson style! 😂👍🏻
It sure is!
The Galaxy's Edge theme park section of Disneyland Resort and Disneyworld are so cool. Did you see The Mandalorian and Grogu characters wandering around?
We sure enjoyed ourselves! No, we didn't see The Mandalorian and Grogu which was a shame. I have only just gotten into The Mandalorian. It's one of the best Star Wars stories ever! 👍🏻😀
Awesome video offering a good overview of the Rise of the Resistance ride. The Imperial Star Destroyer characters are mildly intimidating without being scary. 👍🏻😀
Star Wars Rise of the Resistance experience is so much more than a theme park ride, it's a truly immersive Star Wars experience. You genuinely feel like you are in a movie for the five minutes or so that the main ride sequence lasts. For sure, the guys and girls playing the characters on the Imperial Star Destroyer when we were captured were the perfect mix of helpful and intimidating! 👍🏻😀
What is the reason for avoiding Drury Lane in Run 4: Pages Walk SE1 to St. Martin's Theatre, WC2?
I planned out the runs using Google Maps in November 2022 and, at the time of doing this, no left turn was permitted off Aldwych into Drury Lane. Hence I chose to continue up Kingsway. The problem with recording Knowledge Run videos like this is that access to London streets and roads changes on a weekly and monthly basis so a video can be out of date very quickly.
O.k., thanks. I understand the problem. Thanks for making this video. It's a good insight into The Knowledge of London for people who are interested in what is required but are not actively studying. 👍🏻😀
