    Thank you so much for this!! Seriously, I am a total newbie to routers and needed this table for smaller projects (I have limited space). You do a great job explaining. Curious, did you ever make the follow up video on how to use it?

      No I never had a chance to do a video on how to use it. My job has kept me busy for the last 6 months or so, and the only thing I have really done is round over edges and round corners with a template I found. amzn.to/3ACkcTB Hoping things slow down a little so I can spend some more time in the "shop" soon.

    Mine aren't straight at all!!!! The table is NOT square to the chuck and can't be adjusted because it's not side to side - it's front to back. WEN basically told me to pack sand. Cheap Chineasium crap.

      No it should have come with a small allen key with a handle on it. in the front left side should be a hole, you unlock the router, insert the key and turn it up and down.

    Just ordered one of these on amazon and figured i'd look for a video. Yours was the only one I found that actually was 1. about the correct model (regardless of what video titles said) and 2. was comprehensive enough to actually understand the situation! Sadly I think this is still a "bare minimum" router table, and all the plastic is concerning, but my needs are pretty simple, and I think it'll work well enough for what I'm needing. Thanks for taking the time to make the full video!

  • @BrendanKBuckley

    Nice workbench, just what I'm looking for. I think I will copy your design but will install castors on it as I have to move things around the garage to accommodate my lawn tractor etc.

    • @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re
      @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re Месяц назад

      Completely understand that, I think every other tool I have in the garage is on wheels feel like I spend half the time working just rolling things from one side to the other. Thanks for dropping a comment, and the bench top after 2 years is still intact. Has a few dents, dings and other things on it, but still a solid top solution for the price if you have no way of clamping a large top and leveling it yourself. My other choice was a butcher block top, but price was outrageous at the time, may have come down a little.

  • @moToPow3r
    @moToPow3r 2 месяца назад

    thanks for the video! was there a reason you didn't blow the fan etc. first with the low pressure air to remove some of the debris before wetting it with the alcohol?

    • @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re
      @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re 2 месяца назад

      I personally do not like blowing small motor fans out with compressed air. When you blow the air in it spins the fan and the motor, to fast may cause some failure, my compressor doesn't really get that low unless I drained it first. You could use a "can of air" and blow it out, just don't want to spin it up to 10000 RPM's. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.

    hi! would love updates on the structure? whats the strongest wind gusts it's lived up to? did you stain? could I attach a swing to it?

    • @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re
      @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re 3 месяца назад

      Still standing strong, cat2 hurricane so around 110mph sustained winds. Have not stained it came that color and is pretty much still the same color. I don't think I would attach a swing to it unless you re-enforce whichever beam you want to put it on and maybe add a little stability somewhere. The structure is not designed to really "swing" on,, its more of a free standing square vs something like an A-frame, you could hang it there for looks possibly sit on but I'm about 6' 240 would not try to swing on it. Maybe if I were 5'6 and 120 I wouldn't think twice about it. lol

    Been using cold galvanising compound on stainless tumblers for a while now. Thought it was working great till I put one through the dishwasher and the image faded badly. Found it doesn't seem to be to permanent on metals. I use it on glass to be able to engrav with the blue light and seems to work well though.

    Would you please give a link to which metal footing you used? I am thinking of pouring 18-inch deep and 8” diameter concrete cylinder for those 4 posts and like to use metal footings. Your help will save me a lot. I appreciate your help. Thank you 😊

    • @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re

      Mine is on a flat concrete surface so I did not use any footing, just the wood to the concrete. Been there a year and a half now, still looks good. Starting to fade a little, but is in full Myrtle Beach sun all day. If you were just pouring footings in the ground I would use www.lowes.com/pd/Simpson-Strong-Tie-Steel-Painted-Post-Base-Common-4-in-Actual-3-in/3030292 to bolt to the footings and you would need www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-1-2-in-x-8-in-Anchor-Bolt/4395613 to put in the concrete it sets to line up with the posts. Hope that helps or gives you some Ideas, been quite happy with the purchase and the company stands behind their product well, had that one damaged part made a call and 2 days later had a replacement.

    I was told to Never use Purple Heart wood in cutting boards. The grain is too porous and bacteria will grow there even after washing. Sucks bc it is a gorgeous wood but ppl will get sick if you do this.

    • @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re
      @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re 7 месяцев назад

      It defiantly has more issues than other woods, even after running thru a planer you have to take off a lot of wood. If I use it I usually just use like 1/2" strips for some looks but since this is just a how to put a board together video I didn't. I have been using home made boards for years, haven't got sick yet knock on wood, but I try to not cut things like raw meat on them and when waxing the boards, I work it down into any grooves as good as possible. I have a 1-1/2" Walnut and Maple board I cut meat on. I have noticed also many of the people I make them for don't even cut on them afraid they will damage them and use them more for displaying food. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment, I appreciate the feedback.
