Brothers Clarence and Harold Blomberg from New Sweden, Texas, had preserved the Swedish language that were brought to them from their grand parents who had emigrated from Sweden in 1889.

Swedish immigrant to the United States, Hjalmar Peterson, was the big star among Swedish entertainers in the early 20th Century. He and his band toured America from coast to coast, year after year. His stage name was Olle i Skratthult.

The city of Kingsburg, California, has a strong Swedish heritage. Around 1900, most of the population were born in Sweden. Every year in May, the city organizes Swedish Festival to celebrate its heritage.

Musician Nils Lofgren was awarded the honorary title "Swedish American Of The Year" by the Swedish Vasa Order of America in 2016. Mr Lofgren was the 57th individual to receive the title. Among previous recipients are actress Ann-Margret, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and Supreme Court Chief Justice, William Rehnquist. Nils Lofgren received his title during a ceremony in Gothenburg.

The Swedish language was preserved in America among Swedish immigrant families for generations. But now it is vanishing. Very few Americans of Swedish descent speak "immigrant Swedish" in the 21st century.
