Interesting topic. Many of my channel's listeners are in their 30s or 40s, just like me. I myself used to like pop music with lyrics and techno and house music with clear rhythms when I was younger, but lately I have been gravitating towards these "ambient" oriented tracks with vague rhythms and melodies. In my opinion, it takes a certain period of intentional listening to music for people to come to like this kind of music (not that everyone will like it, of course). However, not all people listen to music "intentionally," so I suspect that the number of people who like this kind of music has not increased much. That makes it sound like it's unlikely to become mainstream in the future. I too would like to hear this kind of music in more places, though.

Thanks for the comment! I have the following setup: T1 pickup, T2 flex, T3 flex, T4 flex, T6 through. All external piano sounds were routed through T6, with lofi effects added. Recorded on-the-fly to recording buffers 1-4 and looped. transitions between T1-4 and T6 were done using the scene function. I hope this helps.
