    Hello, How well is the patient able to clean/water floss between the prosthesis and the implants if it’s a concave base? Have read about lots of hygiene issues with this. Thanks

    Doc, I actually just went through this myself with #31. It had been fractured through the distal marginal ridge for YEARS, and due to ambiguous symptoms (could not see the fracture or localize symptoms in the chair to differentiate whether it was 30 or 31) and like you I had been stubborn to the idea of losing a tooth so, as an “experiment” to see how far I could get, I lived with it. Fast forward to one fateful Tuesday night and I was awoken from a dead sleep with the throbbing of the irreversible pulpitis I knew would one day come. For the record, I did NOT do the honors myself but rather my periodontist friend did. I can definitely say though that going through it myself has given me a unique perspective on the process and I have been able to use my own story repeatedly in consultation with my own surgery patients, and it has been helpful for them to see “oh, he’s recommending for me what he did for himself, this must be ok”

    I was one of those patients that this type of implant did not take. There was an infection underneath a root canal that was asymptomatic for many years that eventually the crown above fractured. Immediate implant was risky in my case. But an implant was put in, 13 mm, long enough to reach the good part of the bone below my bottom lateral incisor. The region did not heal correctly and the implant failed. This immediate implant does not work for all patients. I am in excellent health, I don't smoke, don't do drugs, but I am osteoporosis prone and do not have strong bones. I'm telling you all this so that you can avoid botching your patients' teeth like mine. To dentists and oral surgeons reading this : try not to be condescending to your patients. They might be very educated and able to understand a lot more than you give them credit for. Also my oral surgeon did not go over post op instructions and just handed me a print-out and expected me to follow the written document. So many factors that could have affected the outcome.

    this was not the best treatment possible for the patient, the patient had good gums and line, existent teeth had good bone fixation which was visible on extraction, this was another up sell of implant to a patient which did not needed or had this treatment has only and final option, probably his record will show that majority of the treatment he recommends to patients is exactly this one, one measure to fit all, a factory of implant insertion using an industrialised process, 99.99% of dentists are incapable (incompetent) of inserting implants and reconstruct gum triangle between teeth, this method has nothing to do with the best treatment for patients but its the best procedure that reduces their workload in installing the implants and guarantees the least cost in implementing the install since before this technology where implants by default were one per tooth, over 95% of dentist had a 40% fail rate on the 32 implants that he or she was required to install on the mouth, this technology was made to make possible any butcher fit implants with great margins of success on implants (by reducing the amount needed for a full arch ) this guy is a butcher everything is by eye balling, no digital technology is being applied, also this technology is outdated, he uses big and cheap implants, bad biting alignment and fitting

    What the hell was I watching at the start? A dentist trying to pull out his own tooth with pliers to see how it feels, like torturing himself whilst his team watch and laugh lmao

  • @rjvtechnologies
    @rjvtechnologies 5 дней назад

    procedure quite still rudimentary, they don't apply any digital technology, the dentist handles the patient mouth like a butcher, no monitor that check perforation as it goes in real time so all nerves can be avoided, the depth of perforation, guides and implant alignment all done by eye, even the mouth guides were standard and nod 3d printed according to patient skull and jaw line, that is why not all implants are centred in comparison to the middle bone space and they had to be "profiled" again after, also looks he is in a hurry to go somewhere

    🤔 Isn't every dentist an evidence based dentist??? What is not one? A dentist who works off their personal anecdotes or what?😂 so there are dentists who just do what they want??

      This is kind of like when dentists put on an air of superiority saying “I’m a biomimetic dentist”. Umm, we all are. We’re all attempting to restoring (ie mimic”) what grew naturally. Sometimes we just have differences of opinion on the best way to do it in a given case, but we all know what the end goal is. Unfortunately “biomimetic” as it is often used now has become a grift marketing buzzword.

    Inserting a metal implant replacing a tooth is like installing a permanent needle on an acupuncture point. Not advisable. All the Chinese medical meridians pass through the teeth. Another reason not to put in a root canal ; dead toxic tissue on an acupuncture point.

    Placing an immediate implant and a nonfunctioning provisional is the most gratifying procedure I've done in my career as a general dentist. I've done a couple dozen with great outcomes. However I've had one failure, a male, that in retrospect, probably wasn't listening when we went over post op instructions.
