Jazz Fill Using Five _amp_ Seven Stroke Rolls
Man he had to be deaf AF…
Dudes talking on his drums but not saying a thing.
Is that John Williams conducting the Orchestra?
Obrigado pela consideração abraço meus amigos
It looked like a Ludwig Bronze Supersentitive snare..14x5”
which one is Buddy Rich?
Talent unmeasurable too bad he was a Diva.
Buddy confined himself to just down beat. every note in strokes in the measure and for everything including accents. When you do this there is only so much you can do, and you can only go faster . so that's what he did. He never grasped the playing of up notes. Not in anything.
The great John Williams loving every minute of it.
...you feel like you are basking n the ' Fountain of Youth ' every time Buddy Rich plays- ' His ' Drum Compositions ' are truly the ' Elixir of Life ' - when you really think about it- Makes you want to enjoy every mili-second of every moment - ' WAKES you up in a special way ' Humans are hard wired to respond to the sacred drum beats of ' Ancient Time and Space '
hectic and frantic
Brilliant!!
Buddy gave me a practice pad, pair of sticks and a sheet with the 26 essential rudiments (that's all there was back then) He told me to master them and I will be able to play any style music.
Buddy was simply the best drummer who ever lived. To this day, he still is.
Most drummers beat (bang) the drums. Buddy plays them. Which sets him apart.
The Greatest. Pete sr 😊😮
Magistral 👋👋👋
n. 1.....STOP
Buddy la locomotive !
🥶👍
John Williams conducting!
I met him very arrogant, although great he was not all he thought
Unbelievable Buddy but nothing but the best.
Buddy Rich was a freak of nature. The speed - no one has never been able to match that.
Speed AND Endurance! Amazing! Question.......Did Buddy play the rudiments, or did someone write the rudiments from his playing?
The one and only RIP! Gotta love this bass player!
Yep
Two giants....
Great indeed. But, all this stuff that nobody else is, was, or ever will be as good is pure fantasy. Yes, really!
The best ever❤
Not my particular style of music, but I must say Buddy Rich had fast hands. As a person, his personality left a lot to be desired. But you can all worship him if you want.
Mrs. Rich. The best "pale" drummer of all times. He got some groove on those hands.
He was good for his time, but modern drummers blow him away. Also he was a really terrible person. I don’t care how good you think you are, if you’re a shitty person, you’re a shitty drummer. He’s okay. Def not the greatest of all time. I can play rudiments like this and I’m not a giant asshole. To me, he’s no where near top drummers of all time. He’s just a jerk who got lucky and was on tv and with being on tv he convinced people he’s the best when in reality he was just the first on tv. He just a jerk
I do not find him to be extraordinarily gifted when it come to musical interpretation. He is fast no doubt with great stick control. But how he expresses percussion is rather mundane. No syncopation just blazing speed repetitiously. His single stroke rolls with his left hand are difficult but can be mastered by most talented drummers. But nothing outside the box in his performances. I feel it may be the result of the fact he is not a formally trained percussionist lacking the ability to read music, unaccustomed to off time beats or syncopation. Maybe it’s because he was Buddy Rich, everyone who played with him had to conform to his style of play and his limitations. Plus no one wanted to be on the receiving end of his vile temper. I doubt he could ever understand what John Bonham and Led Zeppelin played. He would have considered it garbage in comparison to what he did though I doubt he could sit in for Bonham. He played music his way, in his time and in his genre. And to him that’s all that counted.
All I can say is Amazing..RIP Buddy
Smile more.
Beyond a doubt, the G.O.A.T
The Master!
With John Williams conducting. This is a masterpiece!! I'm saving this to show what musicianship really is!!
Lord god!!!!!!!!!!! Supernatural
Incredible Rich! !!/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111
Even though there are the occasional examples of drummers who play exceptionally well in the style of Buddy no one but no one can duplicate his polish, drive, explosiveness and imagination. Just like there will never be another Picasso.
Bassist looks a lot like Buddy’s most prominent bassist from his big band, Tommy Warrington. All I can say is that Buddy probably gave him a good chewing out after that performance for playing the wrong genre. This is prehistoric Les Claypool right here.
Buddy Rich in John Williams' orchestra? Good lord, this is the perfect combination!!!
Wow, what year was this....
Soooooo sick
What composition are they playing on here? I actually thought it was the full West Side Story but a different composition
THE greatest drummer to EVER walk planet earth...Bernard "Buddy" Rich
When the late Johnny Carson had Buddy Rich on, you knew he had the best solo performer on a set of drums 🥁. No one even comes close.
Simply the biggest
What in the he'll is going on?
