How to paint your rifle
Просмотров 64 тыс.4 месяца назад
In this video, I go over how I paint my rifles. In this example I am painting a AR15 but the techniques can be used to paint all firearms, you may just have to change up the taping for certain types. Remember, it’s spray paint and not meant to be perfect, if you want it to look exactly how you imagined you will probably want to get it Cerakoted instead. Magpul CTR cheek risers are too long
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.5 месяцев назад
In this video I go over the benefit of cutting down the CTR cheek riser to accommodate the charging handle when charging your AR. I’m not sure what Magpul was thinking making them this long but at least they left a nice cut line on the underside of the riser. Alternatively here are some other options if you don’t want to go through the hassle of cutting down the Magpul. Larue Tactical: www.laru...
Subrev Technologies Bag Rider and Pro Lever

In this video, I quickly review the installation of the Subrev Technologies Bag Rider and Pro Lever for the B5 Sopmod stock. This is a really quick and straightforward process that will greatly improve the usability of the stock when paired with a rear bag. I receive no kickbacks or anything from Subrev for sharing their products. Here is a link to their products: subrevtech.com/ #B5sopmod #B5s...
Lubricating your Staccato or other 2011/1911 platform
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.6 месяцев назад
In this video, I'll quickly demonstrate how Staccato wants the end user to lubricate their pistols. The same process can generally be used for other 2011 or 1911-type handguns. The Lucas Extreme duty gun oil is what Staccato recommends for their pistols but obviously, the end user can decide for themselves what oil works best for them. Cleaning carbon off your flashlight lens

@cttsolutionsllc had a good video showing how well Simple Green did at removing carbon from the lens of your flashlight. Overall it did a good job and was really quick. Ummm ya bro soooo ya.... Ya your buddy with a paint shop prob vomits when he sees ya pick up a rattle can
“The Kramer” 😂😂.
Gotta respect the classics, one of my favorite shows!
Beautiful job
How do YOU clean it off when you are done.
I run it through new reloading media to avoid any dirt getting stuck to the cases.
An exposed low pro gas block is wild lol
What type/brand of red dot mount you have on your scope? Timecode 4:24. THX in advance!
It's a Leupold Mk5 in a Badger Ordnance Condition one mount with their own red dot mount
Some of you paint because the rifle looks boring I paint because a black rod sticks out like a sore thumb in a natural environment. Army teaches us to paint our faces but the rifles are fine apparently😂
Great share
I use a 3d camouflage neting
I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet. Yes, you can use a matte finish to cover up a Satin, Semi-Gloss, or Gloss. The sheen of the finish you use on the final coat, will be the sheen you see.
For me I go khaki base layer followed by brown then the green layers with a final coat of brown next is the sponge and mix all your used colors and begin dabbing in between your colors with said sponge and your gonna end up with a dope paint scheme. Ps it’s much easier to paint a rifle than it looks just tape accordingly
Nice job!
DEI camo is crazy @ 21:07
I'd spray it down with brake cleaner to get rid of any oil or residue.
So does it come out sticky after it dries real good an does the paint come off after you put some rounds in it 😊
It will be tacky for a while, even after the paint dries. But once you get it out in the field and get some dirt on it the sticky/tacky feeling goes away. The paint will come off with use/carrying, I plan to do an update video in the near future showing the paint wear on it.
Shouldn’t be tacky if you don’t put it on so heavy and let each coat cure before applying another coat. He’s too close with the can.
DO NOT USE BRASSO! Ammonia based products are BAD FOR BRASS! you should take this video down. Or put an update about NOT USING BRASSO.
Watched the whole thing and I own no REAL guns. But when I do I’ll come back to this
Shock cord and some tore up sniper veils in different colors or dyed burlap wraps around scopes nicely and breaks it up that much more.
Thanks for the tips!
Thank you 😊 Is that the Harbor Freight fine or coarse walnut shell?
Where did you get that hand guard
It came on the rifle, it's a Knight's Armament FF RAS long rail. They quit making them years ago but will do a limited run every so often.
@@tevans0707 thank you been trying to find a nice picatiny rail system like this for a while
@@bgdyungnotchno problem! My other favorite is the Daniel Defense RIS II rail, they are readily available and much cheaper then the Knights rail.
You can use RED Bottle Heat which is super easy to find. It is 99% IPO. I use 1 bottle Heat RED bottle to 1 oz lanolin.
Thanks for the additional information!
Good info. I fell back on Crisco when my tub of lube ran out.
Official like the referee with the whistle my boy. THAT LOOKS REALLY GOOD! I wish that I could send you by rifles to it for me too. Nice!
I appreciate it!
I just turned mine around backwards and it doesn’t interfere with the charging handle when the stock is fully extended or one notch in where I prefer.
that's the way it's supposed to be. everyone else just put it on backwards lol
I spent way too long in the beginning of this video trying to figure out why you had such a thin wire shaped hand brake on your rifle just to realize it was your shirt... I need sleep.
Would have liked to have seen the finished product with optics, mags, light, lasers etc..
Hey what are those "cordless telephone" type devices with green LEDs ?
Aerove is my go to spray paint with light coats. Then I scotch bright the gun lightly with gray scotch bright to smooth it out.
Which bag do you recommend on a budget?
The gold standard of bags is the Armageddon Gear game changer, however I also really like the SAP Solo Sack. But when I first started in the game I was using old wool socks filled with airsoft BB's.
Here's the link to the solo sack. www.shortactionprecision.com/products/sap-wc-solo-sack
Lol You're supposed to go dark to light colors. Dark base & each new layer gets increasingly lighter. Kinda did it backwards, but you did it godamnit! I mean that bright-ass kahki will stand out in nature just like a regular, black rifle would lol The desert would be a good environment for that, tho. Black has no environment, other than a dark night, where it blends in well..
Cerakote is hundreds and hundreds of dollars Spray is $20-$30. 😊
Agree!!
Is that a tripod for construction or a telescope?
It's typically used for camera's but they can be retrofitted for shooting.
That looks dumb and you just destroyed that rifle 😂
Wasn't aware that putting temporary paint on something would ruin it 🤷🏻♂️ anywho, thanks for helping the algorithm!
Painting a rifle you use frequently gives you the freedom to make it look however you want. If you’re scared to paint your gun then you probably aren’t heavy using it in the first place.
Honestly We painted our rifles with paint from the motor pool and an old sock 😂 Wtf is this bullshit 😂
Good for you 👍🏻
Why don't you remove the BCG, charging handle, and mag.? The fill the recriver with paper towel to block out over spray.
I don't because I found it to be unnecessary, but if you want to go for it.
How to paint your rifle? Don't.
Live a little
Your stencils need more variation and they are all at the same angle, the repetition and symmetry is defeating the camouflage. You also need to break up the outline more particularly the top rail and but stock.
My only question is does the surface not get sticky then after being painted? Very interested in painting my rifle now
It will be slightly tacky afterwards, but once the paint fully cures and you take it out into the elements it will go away.
@@tevans0707 appreciate the response brother 🫡 gonna go head and paint my rifle this weekend
Great video add another light to the room if you can, please and thank you
Thank you for the feedback!
My rifle has that perfect patina of beat-up and used… no need to paint it seeing how I live in an urban environment…. But good job on the paint of yours..
I did the same exact thing with the camo med tape on my scope. :)
Neither of the rifles in the thumbnail look like this. That’s what I wanted
Different lighting makes the paint job look different, not trying to catfish anyone. Part 2 I'll go over painting the other rifle and giving a close up of each.
I was in the Army for 10 years, and was always told to spray the top with your darkest color because it absorbs the sunlight better than lighter colors. Think of it like an animal. They're always darker on top, then lighter on bottom. Other than that, you did a good job.
Kinda like a shark. Dark on top, light on the bottom.
I think all predators are built dark on top light on bottom its their camouflage!! i love sharks!
I always like people's examples of painting, especially for Utah. Good work!
Thanks for the feedback!
Who makes the bag rider for the stock?
The company is called Subrev Technologies, here is the link: subrevtech.com/product-category/stock-accessories/
I subscribed because you mentioned my favorite channel DC. 👍🏻🤙🏼🇺🇸
It's hard not too when they put out such good content. Thanks for the sub!
Word of thought, first base layer to match your surrounding foliage. Then use the vegetation of the area as your stenciling patterns. Ferns maple oak ash or whatever the woods in your area are. AM AN OLD MARINE AND WAS INFORMED OF THAT PROCESS BY VETERANS WHO USED THAT THINKING
Doing that makes very natural looking camoflage. As well as using light tans, and white in your color choices. That really makes the patterns look real.
Nice instructional video. One request, show the finished product with tape removed. 💪🏼☠️🫵🏼
Put full size magazines in there... should be painting them as well. Great vid man.
Thanks for the feedback!
Another option is a "RISR" made by Larue tactical. Its a reciprocating cheek riser but its also 60 bucks . I would rather chop up a 20 dollar part
fosco paint over all these rusto oleum and krylon shit
