I can hear the wind a blowin' in my mind Just the way it used to sound through the Georgia pines You were there to answer when I called, yeah You and me we had it all Remember how I used to touch your hands While reachin' for the feeling that was always there You were the best thing in my life I can recall You and me we had it all I know that we can never live these times again So I'll let these dreams take me back to where we've been Then I stay there with you just as long as I can Oh, it was so good, oh, it was so good It was so good when I was your man And I never stop believin' in your smile Even though it didn't stay, it was all worthwhile You were the best thing in my life I can recall You and me we had it all You and me we had it all

To the Woke Jokes who want to ban this song because of controversial lyric lyrics. Some people think Brown Sugar refers to Mexican Brown Heroin. Songs can be about many things. Not just one subject. But the woke wish to cancel everything. They never heard of Artistic license apparently. Too bad!

"I heard so much about London" may have been a pun: the thoroughly excellent tune (whose melody is "Sister Morphine") is said to have been made as a deliberate deal-breaker aimed ("Oh yeah? Well, i dare YOU!") at tangles they were caught in, via their inopportune bargain with devil Allen Klein, with their record labels Decca (UK parent) and LONDON (US reseller). The idea, according to legend, is that a (ALWAYS solitary, in these stories) work was needed to satisfy an obligation and that "Schoolboy Blues" was the brilliant fuck-you, a fulfillment of contract completely unsellable. Doubtless apocryphal, but i like the story AND the song
