I call drum & bass "jungle" a lot of the time out of respect for the foundations, which if you look at the earliest drum & bass releases is entirely made up of the folk who worked the jungle scene, it's likle a family name. The guys who turned up after the term jungle perhaps don't know the origin story and by comparison to today it's evolved and sped up so fast that when young people listen to 1994 drum & bass at 160bpm, they can't relate it to this. UK rave music styles have always mutated but that will never change where it came from. Yes, when you mention jungle people may imagine 1994-1995 style drum & bass but it's up to them to do their homework and salute the generals, including Navigator and respect to Benny Page!
