Shotgun Dave Kustom Slot Cars
Добавлен 5 ноя 2013
I will be using this channel to teach and show people how to scratch build slot cars. We will be primarily doing 1/32 scale cars, but also venture into 1/25 scale. I will show how to make resin bodies and parts, how to mold your own urethane tires, and how to build custom chassis from brass and steel rod. We'll also be building a wood track. My favorite cars are jalopies and modifieds, and that's mostly what we'll be building.
I'l be adding videos regularly and I'll also be a doing some live broadcasts as well. That will give folks the opportunity to ask questions in real time.
I'm looking forward to hanging out and talking slot car!!

That was epic! End result looked mint! Also, great tip about cutting down a brush to create a hard brush....... Genius! 💯🔥🔥🔥
@@trackfanstv Thanks Pete!
SCC shows the bodies as "sold out" which confused me but then I read it was a placeholder for "coming soon". Do we know "when" SCC will have them available? I want to have my "George" budget ready to go! He has done some amazing work.
@@njappboy They are in fact sold out. They initially had 10 bodies to sell to see if there would be demand. They sold out in a matter of days! But have no fear, they are being restocked as we speak. SCC should have them back up in a few days. Keep checking the site to make sure you get one.
@@shotgundaveslotcars I was able to pickup 4 bodies. Already primed, sanded, and entering my Christmas gift assembly line. Thanks go to you, Jorge, Harry, and SCC!
@@njappboy That’s fantastic! Please post pics of your progress. We’d love to see some of these bodies come to life.
Awesome on the drivers and the Monte Carlo!
Missed it live, I was asleep with the tv on. Lol
@@Michael_63 😂
I was already asleep when you went live.. watching this morning..
I was looking for '69 or '70 125 scale Javelin to build from the TransAm series and all the models I found were $250 and up! Ridiculous!
@@Clearwater124 Some of those older kits are super expensive Greg.
Caught it Saturday morning. Do you have an stl file for pedestrian drivers Dave>? You know, without helmets?
@@Clearwater124 I’m looking for one. I’ve found a few that might work, but I’m trying to find a better one. I’ll let you know if I find one.
@@shotgundaveslotcars Great, thanks Dave.
Couldn’t join you live but I always like watching and listening in on Saturday mornings in my workshop. Thank you for doing these. B wishes from the UK.
Buona cena!
Enjoy bro!!
Such goodness....
Mmmmmm
Oh how nice 👌🏻. You going to show taste reaction?
@@SlotCarWildman That’s a good idea Eric.
The Rat would be on my list!!!!!
Great stuff bro!
@@twolinesslotcars Thanks Marty!

I want the rat, can you oblige?
Get a 3D Printer and print one!

Hi, Dave have you done any videos on how to mount a 1/32 factory chassis (Revell for example) to a 1/32 static Revell body? I am not sure what to use for mounting posts or how to get the correct height/alignment. Thanks.
@@carlocivita4940 Hey Carlo. I haven’t done a video on that. Slot Car Corner has a body post kit to help you mount bodies. You might look at that and see if it works for you.
Very cool Dave, what resin have you settled on for your bodies? I would like to follow you down this rabbit hole.
@@CiaranWhelan Thanks Ciaran. We’re just getting started. But I think we’re going to use Elegoo ABS 2.0 resin. So far it seems to be the most durable.
Definitely should wear a mask X) Good printing result ; )
I like to have a 1954 Dodge truck.
Very cool Dave. You guys are getting this sorted out well. I need a 65 belvedere shell!
Plenty tough
Thanks
Are they adding any flexible resin in the mix? Tenacious works well at 10 - 20 %. Much less brittle.
@@cdrseabee I don’t know about additives. But this resin is pretty flexible by itself.
Successful tests!
Dave, nice video. Do you recommend wearing a maskl? LOL
@@SpareRoomSlotCars 😂
This is now my favorite slot car video to date. 😂 Hammer to the body. 💥 Seriously though, thanks for the demonstration.
@@IrrerasCarrera I try to be entertaining as well as informative Joe! Thanks for watching!
Excellent video Dave !!
I guess they will glue up just like traditional resin? I figured they would just wonder how super glues and epoxies will react with this kind of resin. I would guess there would be no difference. ??
@@TADD29 you’re probably right Tadd. That’s the next tests I’m going to conduct.
@@shotgundaveslotcars Perfect
Super glue works great. You can also use the resin that you printed the body with and paint it on. Cure and good to go again.
Another thing is also saving some of that resin dust and mixing it with super glue to fix cracks, breaks etc….
They look fantastic
Thanks
These bodies look awesome!
@@twolinesslotcars Jorge is killing it Marty. It really is a game changer.
Just like your Jalopy, a nice and quick video. Good on ya mate! 😉
Awesome stuff all! Congratulations!
Hey Dave I did see that one but that's not the one I was thinking of I guess it was in the middle of one of your other ones thanks

Great Runner Dave ❤
Awesome build, Dave!
Man Dave. That thing is stuck to the track like glue !! Are you sure you don't have a magnet somewhere in that thing? LOL. Great build. Love it!!
@@gregguth845 The only magnets are in the motor Greg! 😂😂
