After watching this video you will be able to: 1. Describe the joints composing the elbow complex 2. Describe the degrees of freedom & movements available at the elbow complex 3. Described the arthrokinematics of the closed and open kinematic chain for humeroulnar and humeroradial joints
Running Analysis: Hip Drop
Просмотров 4,4 тыс.3 года назад
A runner presenting with a hip drop. A hip drop in runners can have an implication on their running mechanics, running energetics, and progression. It has been related to iliotibial band syndrome and patellofemoral pain.
Gait Deviations: Hip, Pelvis, Trunk
Просмотров 16 тыс.3 года назад
After watching this video you will learn about: 1. Trendelenburg Gait 2. Compensated Trendelenburg Gait 3. Multiple Trunk Leans: Forward Trunk Lean, Backward Trunk Lean and Trunk Lurching 4. Circumduction 5. Excessive Lumbar Lordosis during Gait
Gait Deviations: Compensatory Knee Joint Strategies
Просмотров 7 тыс.3 года назад
In this video you will observe the following gait abnormalities: 1. Flexed knee during the stance phase of the gait cycle 2. Knee hyperextension during the stance phase of the gait cycle 3. Antalgic Gait 4. Excessive knee flexion during the swing phase of the gait cycle
Running Analysis: Heel Eversion a.k.a Pronation
Просмотров 1 тыс.3 года назад
In this video, you will learn about one reason why runners suffer from hip, knee, or ankle pain: excessive heel eversion. While normal heel eversion is part of our physiological movement, excessive heel eversion may create instabilities throughout the entire lower extremity chain. Here you will also learn about one simple exercise to address the heel eversion.
Running Analysis: Overstriding
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.3 года назад
In this video, you will learn about an examination of overstriding in runners and a technique to decrease the overstriding.
Gait Deviations: Knee Joint Complex Secondary to Knee Joint Dysfunction
Просмотров 6 тыс.3 года назад
In this video, I discuss five gait deviations related to the knee joint complex, secondary to a knee joint dysfunction. 1. Knee Extension after Initial Contact- Extensor Thrust 2. Knee Extension during Loading Response, No Extensor Thrust 3. Genu recurvatum 4. Flexed Knee Position during Stance 5. Reduced/Absent Knee Flexion during Swing

Great videos. But the music is quite distacting and unnecessary. Would be excellent to just present as you do, with no background noise.

You can bend your neck near the top of your neck when nodding but keep most of your lower neck neutral. You can also bend at the base of your neck without nodding. Each movement seems mostly independent yet the only terms I hear are flexion and extension. What are the medical terms for bending at the top (nodding) versus bending at the bottom (looking down/up)?

SA, along with lower traps and UPPER traps synergistically upwardly rotate the scapula during humeral elevation. Fibres of the middle traps retract the scapula.

Great video!!! one brief clarification with closed vs. open chain movement: difference is that the talus does not move in open chain motion due to rotation not being transferred from upper leg Vs. Closed chain motion will have the descriptions listed in the video.

In February 2011, I sustained a back injury while lifting a heavy object without proper form. My back was bent rather than straight, and as I lifted, I felt a severe cramp-like sensation, causing me to collapse onto a nearby bed. Since then, I've been unable to fully rotate or bend laterally without encountering a knot or stiffness around the bottom of my thoracic spine. While watching your video, I began to suspect that a disc might have been overstretched. Could you provide any advice on this? Would performing back stretches, such as the cat-cow stretch and arching my back, be beneficial, or should I consult a doctor first? Thank you for your help.
