Thank you for sharing such a great and interesting video. The Oneida Community was an interesting group to say the least. There were many "interesting" religions developing during those times (The Shakers, The Mormons, etc....) "Company towns" were also a big thing back in the 1900's. Hershey, Pa (still a decent tourist attraction) created by Milton Hershey and many others that faded away. J.C. Penney, created a private community here in N. Florida too (still there).

I remember that Spensers from the late sixties when they opened. The Arnot Mall has fallen on hard times like many other shopping centers.

Remember coming to Clarks Summit 1980 as a young lads from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 to visit relatives and tour around. Went to view mont mall and danced to some soul music outside record shop. I often wondered if it was still open but like here it looks very quiet sadly.

Next time you wanna do a tour of the area, you should get ahold of a local. I would enjoy showing you what it’s really like being around the finger lakes region!! Horseheads is all ran down and as is Elmira but there is so much history when it came to the Natives!! I grew up all over this area but I also moved away for many years!! I am back now battling cancer but I would like to actually show people what’s still half way decent to come and visit!!

It’s not about saving money on the eggs it’s about egg quality and freshness. Nothing beats a freshly laid egg omelette. Some pay a premium for truly fresh eggs.

Extremely small town no massive urban buildings best place to live if you want to live in ny

That was a nice nostalgia video to watch for someone who lived there from infant to graduating NHS in 86 and only visits on occasion for one remaining set of family members. It was interesting growing up there in the 70s & 80's and for my family since the 50's. Used to be thriving with the pharmaceutical company before being acquired and operations moved to Ohio. Dairy farms were decimated in the '80s and both that and the closure of the pharmaceutical company constituted a maturity of our economy particularly the upper middle class affluent. It's sad to see houses that were enviably gorgeous particularly on North broad Street on kept deteriorating because the generations have moved on out of the town. It's sad that there's not been funding or support for a major revitalization because downtown has such a potential of being so hallmark-esque It would be the perfect backdrop for those types of movies. But there's a reason why a lot of people left... from the economy to the close-mindedness to the lack of equity and diversity. So for now certain times of the year particularly in the fall in the gorgeous used to be cool Summers Now they're getting humidity like the rest of us. It is a nice place to visit but I never want to live there again.

Look up what Newark used to look like before 1975, when the Urban Renewal scam demolished literally entire blocks of Newarks beautiful grand historical buildings....Only South Main remains and the saddest part is even with big Government funding there's been ZERO attempt to simply rebuild what was lost downtown.

Check your history, my goodness. There was no merchant named "Weedsport." Lazy.

My mom relocated here for a few years and i joined her for a few years. We're from Buffalo. Its a cute little town. I wanna take my kids to see it My daughter was only 3 during that time, my son was born many years later. I went to a church in Sodus, NY. My mom dated a guy who had a lot of family there as well
