Malay Dutch Family Visit Chinatown Kuala Lumpur | Trying classic food everyone should eat in KL
Mat Salleh Belanda, Malay wife and their daughter visit Chinatown together for the first time together. It's our last day in Malaysia. We stop at Erik's favorite thosai and roti canai restaurant place next to Pasar Seni to satisfy our food craving. We also stroll around in Chinatown for some shopping and sightseeing. What a way to end our last day in Malaysia.

We stand in line at the Malaysian food stand that is part of the ASEAN village at this festival and were patient enough, especially our baby, to buy a number of Malaysian food dishes. Is it worth visiting. We love wet/day/night markets. Are they many there as well as street hawker/ stalls? Many masjid? Affordable city? What area of the city should I be looking to rent a airbnb? Hopefully everything walking distance.
There is a large wet market in the centre of town. Night market down town and in other parts of the city as well. We like the city and it has a large and many small masjids. The prices in Kelantan are usually low. If you can afford it there is the humairya hotel in the centre where also the night market is. Have to choose the right days though. Other staying options also available but we have no experience staying in other hotels because we stay at family.

I actually have it marinating right now. Went with Chinese Cabbage instead of Pak Soi and left out the food coloring, since my supermarket lacked those. It smells amazing already. I will let you know how it turned out. Oh btw, how long should the chicken be in the oven for the second time? You mention 30 minutes. That's in total, including the first 10 minutes?
Awesome. No worries about no food coloring. It will turn out just fine, just less red. The chicken needs to be cooked till done for approximately 30 minutes. Depending how thick the meat is. For a boneless and skinless thigh filet 30 should be fine. Definitely keep an eye on it, you don't want them to turn black. Especially when you roast them in the end under the grill to get that perfect crispness on the outside. Happy cooking 👍
It was delicious! I made enough chicken for two days, and the second day's still was very tasty! Also the Chinese Cabbage was great. I think I will keep that in. This dish is definitely one that I will cook regularly.
