I did reroll all the useful stats to the max and locked them imgur.com/a/rYnPu87. For tanking you simply care about HP and DEF. The toughness stat of your hero shows the final value of applying, so you can see which stat provides most impact.

While it is true that dropped fps and crashes lead to client induced lag, lag is not a condition limited to those. Lag is defined as the time it takes for something to react, and is usually applied to network conditions. Thus, what you can see here is me killing an enemy bomber, and three seconds later the tower behind me exploding. Why does this happen? My game client has recorded the enemy bomber kill, and then proceeds to send this information to the server (along other information like my position, if I'm dead, amount of life, etc). But due to network conditions the server did not get this information or it was somehow dropped, and thus seconds later the server "tells my client" that "the bomber (who according to the server wasn't dead) managed to destroy the tower", which can be seen in the video as the tower magically exploding alone without interaction. This is the nature of network oriented games, where you can have 120fps yet still experience lag due to bad/faulty network connection.
