Previously on Star Fox, an enemy supply base serving the Venom forces became the target of the Star Fox team. A train had just left for a supply depot delivering several munitions among its cargoes, and they had to use their Landmaster tank with its cannon to destroy it. Right as they found a way to destroy the train and take it off the line by sending it into a fuel bunker, a weapon was deployed that could very easily crush them all without a thought. This is our Fortnite back on the old days (not a fan of Fortnite. This is better than Fortnite).

No one appreciates how surprisingly intense this game is. Everyone you know, people you've fought alongside, get morphed and assimilated into an alien hivemind and emotionally manipulate you to assimilate. General Pepper literally begs for you to kill him because he couldn't mentally resist the Aparoid's control any longer, It shows just how more dangerous and destructive the Aparoids are and have done compared to Andross. I absolutely loved this game's concept. Underrated game for sure, I'm glad I randomly chose to play this in my teens so I could fully enjoy it. Let's not forget the fact that Star Fox Assault has one of the greatest soundtracks of all time.

I was looking for this when I played 2 for the first time. Not this exactly but information on the Queen's whereabouts because I spared her in 1. I still don't really understand the feelings I had when I learned that she learned from the mistakes of her ancestors. The closest thing I can come up with is relief that I didn’t have to correct a mistake. No one deserves genocide not even giant singing creepy crawlies who obviously understand that the mistakes of their past cannot be repeated.

Honestly, Star Fox Assault was the best Star Fox game audiovisually (Art Style, Music, and Sound Design) and mechanically (Overall Gameplay), but was just too short. It's honestly tragic, because Assault is probably one of my favorite games of all time. Imagine Star Fox: Assault if it had more missions, maybe even branching paths like SF64? I also imagine the controls would have been better received if it defaulted to twin-stick mode in on-foot missions.
