Making Carolina Caviar: The Ultimate Pimento Cheese
Thank you! Now I know what to do when my propane runs out but my hamburgers not finished and its SHTF so I can't go to town & get more cause someone might eat my pets when I go in the store or steal the seat off my bike or somethin' ..anyhow, ..flower pot is brilliant & happy it only takes 3 coals, a dorito and a lighter to make it happen :)
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this!❤
Jesus. I don't think 40 years of shoveling Doritos down my gullet was such a great idea. Luckily, I can't afford them now. Cheers to a long life lol
I have a large flower pot and you can keep feeding it logs with a hole in the side thanks for the awesome idea
think you could have gotten buy with 2
❤I love you, cowboy!
Start a charcoal fire with a Dorito huh? It also may be possible to start your car with your butt cheeks, but I think for now, I'll stick with my fingers.
Before even watching the video I’ll say, “no, you can’t cook on 3 briquettes.” Now, guess why I said “no.”
Why?
@@carolinacowboycooking Betteridge’s Law of headlines
Looks amazing!! I’m not one of those guys who’s gonna say that meat is overcooked.
Hello there, I’ve just come across your channel through this video that I saw today. I’m actually blind and can't see anything on this video, so can you tell me what is holding the burger up above the charcoal please. I’m thinking that the charcoal is in the bottom of the flower pot, but let me know if I’m wrong. Or is the flower pot upside down?
@@blindsurvival8570 Hello Rego! Thanks so much for checking out my channel! The 3 briquettes are in the bottom of the flowerpot. I lit the Doritos and put the charcoal on top of them. After about 20 minutes I put a small round grill grate from my air fryer on top of the 4 inch flowerpot. The burger is sitting on the grill just like any other grill. I have two other small grill videos i hope you will enjoy. One is an even smaller flower pot where I cook with just one charcoal briquette that I start with a few Fritos! I cooked an egg in a super small 3 inch cast iron skillet. After the egg, I made a grill out of a single piece of copper wire that sits on top the tiny flowerpot and grilled another hamburger patty. The other video is a homemade grill that I made from two aluminum bread pans I purchased for a dollar at the dollar store. This time I used a coat hanger for the grill. I cut it into 5 inch sections and stuck it through the top lip of one of the pans after cutting an air vent in the side of the pan. I put lump charcoal in the bottom pan and cooked two huge chicken legs. I used the second pan as the grill top. I cut a vent hole in the top right corner which is opposite of the air intake on the bottom left. This created a cross draft and provided great smoke flavor. Thank you very much for reaching out! By the way, I watch your channel and subscribed!
@@carolinacowboycooking Okay cool, I understand. I must have missed the part where you said you used the small grill top piece. I’ll check out those other videos also. I actually haven’t posted anything on my page in years because of some health issues I’ve had. Here’s something I made though… I used an aluminum colander/strainer as a grill. I put clothes hanger wire through the bottom holes of the colander, close enough to hold charcoal or small pieces of wood off of the bottom of it, and I put longer pieces through the top holes to hold whatever I put up there. I’ve made bacon, burgers, hotdogs, and boiled some water in a small pot. It worked okay, well enough to make a small lunch or whatever. I also put aluminum foil under the legs to catch anything falling out of the holes, like the ashes & grease. Because it's aluminum, it cools down really fast.
@@blindsurvival8570 that is awesome. Keep it up. Hope you are doing better and start posting again soon.
Looks perfect to me.

That’s awesome Tom. Do you just move it around to cook since it is bigger than the can?
Wow are you Clark kent? You can bend steel!
With your thumb and forefinger!
💪😜🤠
That’s really impressive using the Doritos chip, never thought about that, the 1 thing l would do is set the hamburger patty off to the side a bit as to not burn it to a crisp, I’m definitely going to try the flower pot grill method, great video. Thanks

I’d do steak instead because the ground beef could still have bacteria inside. Steak on the other hand would be safer. I’m gonna try this.

In Japan there is something called a kandouko. Essentially a similar tiny charcoal pipe in a tank of water. You grill tiny bits of food over the charcoal and warm up a sake container in the surrounding hot water.
I googled it. Very interesting thanks for sharing
Great video. I thought the steak was a little overdone. My wife thinks it WAY overdone. She's a rare kind of woman. The highlight of the video was the tutorial in making the cowboy cocktail.

👍👍👍 .. compressed Charcoal Briquettes are very underrated as a heat source. They're light and burn a long time. I would stay clear of that crispy junk food though .. even as fire lighters.
@@thomasmusso1147 thanks for sharing Thomas 🤠
“I don’t want this to be overly cooked”, too late. However, you demonstrated a good point, the flower pot grill (cheaper) worked. It might be worth a look to compare it to a grill over three rocks, a grill over a hole in the ground or maybe a grill over a bean can…just a thought. Thanks…from east Tennessee.
