Thanks for your comment and question. The word "tithe" means "10%. The answer to your question is found in Malachi 3:8-10: "8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." First I ask that you take this to Yah in prayer so that He will reveal to you the truth as that is indeed His desire when we seek Him with all our hearts! Second that scripture was about Israelites not bringing their offerings to the temple and because of their disobedience Yah judged them with a small harvest so Yah command them to give a full tithe in grain to see that He would bless them with an abundant harvest. And that is the context and it has absolutely nothing to do with the modern church. Yahusha(Jesus) came to fulfill the law has He said in Matthew and when the church began to grow instructions were given to the church in acts and tithing it’s not one among them. This is not to say that you should not give to the church, the contrary is actually instructed and many principles about giving are mentioned throughout the New Testament but never a specific amount is mentioned! Example when believers sold their homes and lands to meet the needs of the church. Furthermore what is required from us is to give according to what Yah as set in our heart but as many modern churches use such scriptures to demand that you give we have taken such as a command when it is not! Yah might ask for 1% or 100% or even ask that you give nothing and you are to do as you are directed by Him. I speak this in love because I was too certain of this until Yah Himself called me out of this lie! I ask that you take this in prayer and with a sincere heart ask Him for the truth! From my study of the Bible, here’s just a brief summary of why I believe the tithing system is still valid: 1. The Bible speaks much on how the tithe (meaning "a tenth") was used for the support of the ministers of God such as priests, etc. This is important to note. It is seen starting way back in the book of Genesis. Many people think tithing was specifically for Israel, but tithing was around even in Abraham’s day since he paid tithe to God's priest Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:1-2; Genesis 14:18-20). There was no nation of Israel (or law of Moses) at that time. Jacob also gave tithes to God (Genesis 28:20-22). There was no nation of Israel then either. So, if these Godly men knew to return tithe to God at that time, and God continued the tithing system with Israel in the commands given to Moses for supporting the priests and Levites, God's ministers (Numbers 18:24, 26), we have no reason to believe that tithes are not valid today. 2. Then I look at how Jesus referred to tithe. In Matthew 23:23, Jesus’ answer reveals His belief about tithe: “Woe to you Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you *pay tithe*​ of the mint and anise and cumin but you’ve omitted the weightier matters, justice, mercy, and faith.” Finally, he adds, “These you ought to have done, and *not leave the other undone*.” The “other” is paying the tithe. He’s not saying not to pay the tithe. Pay the tithe, He explains, but don’t forget about justice, mercy, and faith. Therefore Jesus upheld tithe paying. 3. Lastly, I look at Paul. He actually affirms the tithe in the NT: Paul writes about the tithe, and he never indicates that it is something we should not do anymore. Paul adds, “You should not muzzle the ox that treads the grain” (1 Timothy 5:18). Here he is quoting directly from the Old Testament laws (Deuteronomy 25:4) and connects it to the tithe which the ministers of the Old Testament sanctuary received from God's people (1 Corinthians 9:13-14). Even though he doesn’t explicitly call it tithing, he says, “Those that preach the gospel should be sustained by the gospel.” You can see how he specifically was referring to the Old Testament principle of supporting God's ministers. And he never says that tithing is nothing, unlike circumcision. For these reasons and others, I believe that God still asks us to give the tithe. @@PetraDotsonMaranatha tithing wasn’t required of everyone either but only from those who worked the land… tithing was never money but things they produced from the land and the first fruits that they took in a basket, was blessed by the priest and then they took it back and ate themselves at their houses! Like I said we are told to give but never a tenth! And when Abraham gave it was an isolated incident and wasn’t even from his own income! I desire not to keep going back in fort nor do I think of you any less because of this subject… this is one of many subjects the modern church has taken, manipulated and abused and many just blindly follow and it used to be me until I received revelation and so I pray the same happens to you and anyone who needs it! Yes, definitely! The Lord wants to speak to us through his Word the Bible and the Holy Spirit. He promised us: "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3 "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." Isaiah 30:21

Amen! We will always be successful when we follow God's directions and timing. He will let us know when to move and when to be still. Praise his name!

The best way is to know God for yourself and have a relationship with him for yourself. Spend time with him and read his Word, the Bible, so you know what he is saying to you and about you. Then when others use him incorrectly against you, you will be confident you are in his will. I hope this helps.

@@PetraDotsonMaranatha Hi Petra!!! I'm done with my water fast yesterday!!!!!! ALL the glories and praises are to our Lord. I didn't feel hungry or upset. Instead, God has given me much joy and endurance. He also revealed to me my sins and guided me gently back. I became humble, patient, loving, and forgiving. God has answered most of my prayers and I can't ask for more. I didn't deserve any to begin with!! He is very kind to me !! Also, I notice a miracle, I suffered from 2 major traumas and got severe anxiety for 15 years now. After the water fast, I found it harder for me to slip into anxiety and easier into prayer mode.
