    The PTO off the seat thing is a matter of order of operations. You are getting off the seat at the wrong time. 1) Tractor in neutral, parking brake set. 2) Start PTO normally, let go of switch once PTO is running. 3) While still in seat, hold the pto switch in again as if you were starting it (but it's already running) until the dash message appears. 4) While still holding down the switch, stand up out of the seat. 5) PTO should still be be running, and now you can release the switch and completely dismount the tractor.

    On my 2025R I added a loader bracket mounted step to the right side, so I now have a step on each side. Wasn’t hard to do- take out top bolt first, attach through the step’s top bolt hole, tighten 3/4 way or so, then remove the bottom 2 bolts while top bolt holds the assembly in place, swing the step down to line up the bottom holes, install the 2 bottom bolts and then final tighten up all 3. I also added ‘grab handles’ to the top of the loader arm brackets on each side. Easy now to get up to seat from either side, with secure hand hold for both hands while climbing up.

No mower as I don’t have enough open lawn space for it. The tractor has done everything I’ve asked of it. As for storage / tool carry, you have to create your own. In your back end 2” receiver hitch you can plug in a car type hitch carrier platform & stack milk crates, etc. on it for tools, chains, etc.

    I have also owned this chipper for three seasons. I chip a lot of branches and limbs. When chipping 2-3" branches, the unit will break the crankshaft on the motor. I would highly recommend getting the warranty for this chipper. That will save you the time of repairing the motor yourself. If you did not buy the warranty or it has expired, then the crankshaft breaks, replace the motor with a new one and buy the warranty. Replacing the crankshaft yourself only save a little money. You will need a new crankshaft, gaskets and seals plus about 90 mins to 2 hours to tear down and reassemble everything. time is money. I purchased a new 212cc for $129 with the $49 warranty. I will swap it out when ver the engine breaks down and return the broken motor for replacement.

    Love your hobie videos. I recently bought a used 2014 hobie wave and have watched your entire hobie play list. Keep them coming. I also use a jet ski boat lift for mine, the only difference being that I modified a double jet ski lift by joining or fusing the two cradles together to form one large cradle. I also removed one of the winches and ran the cable from the winch that remains across the entire span. It works great. To prevent it from blowing away I sunk 2 5' dock posts with augers into the bottom about 2' deep, centered on the hull and strap both the boat and lift to those posts. This past week we had a storm roll through with 70+ mph winds and it didn't blow away. Really happy with setup.

    The sail won't 'womp' (nice tribute to "Wind," btw) if you tighten the sheet to center as you gybe. Gybing is scary only if you neglect to handle the main. The womp becomes a snap of the battens, and then you release the sheet to your new point of sail.

    Do you have a link for the carbineer parts you are using for the bridle hooks? I think mine are pins. I had a hard time hooking in the forestay, and had to move the shroud pins up to get enough slack to hook the forestay. Seems like that would be easier with the beeners rather than trying to get a clevis pin and ring in. Also comment on what ring from top or bottom you are attaching for forestay, bridle hooks and the side shrouds if you would. Tks!

    • @upnorthguy
      @upnorthguy 4 месяца назад

      Hi! I don’t know where the bridle hooks came from, they were there when I bought it and per the prior owner they were an upgrade. It is definitely easier to attach the bridle with them. I think any similar size carabiner could work. Nothing special about the rings I am using, they are basic sailboat hardware.

    Is the padding on the leaning bar standard? I would love this boat but I would have to take it to the lake and take the mast down when I take it home. I grew up with a 9 foot cat yak that I couldn't get replacement parts for. I had so much fun on that boat.

      It came with mine- it is a 2015 model that I purchased used. The padding on the bars make it super comfortable! Thanks for the comment!

    I like the steps on your tractor. Who makes those?

      John Deere makes them, and it came standard on mine. Here is a video on my channel that explains more about the step! ruclips.net/video/-JWevPmYfhI/видео.htmlsi=o6fJAHTYqeZz_HF4

    Great video! I've sailed a Sunfish about a dozen times. Would you say the learning curve to a Wave is easy?

    • @upnorthguy
      @upnorthguy 5 месяцев назад

      Much easier to learn on a Wave. I started on a sunfish too, but it’s too small and difficult to manage the lines and rudder. Thanks for the comment!

    You can program the tractor to shut off that backup safety crap.

      I also have a 2025 and that drives me crazy. How do you shut that off?

    Can you drive in the other locking positions without it closing on it's own? Supplier says it's only meant for loading and unloading.

    • @upnorthguy
      @upnorthguy 5 месяцев назад

      Yes you can! That is the advantage of the multiple positions when you have loads of different sizes. Never heard it wasn’t for driving that way.

      Thanks for reply! Mine only stays closed when it’s all the way closed. If I leave in another position it rolls back into the canister shortly into the drive (tried multiple adjustments) Customer service from Real Truck told me it’s not meant to be driven in the other positions which I thought was weird and couldn’t figure out why you would have them otherwise. Thanks for letting me know yours operates how I thought it should.
