Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-890SFP | Beautiful Approach & Smooth Anchorage Landing ~ ANC
The spooling at start of takeoff gives me goose bumps , what a feeling the pilots must have flying these birds , awesome .
Oh yes- and even interacting with the pilots was awesome- they LOVE their job :)
Flew a United 757 earlier this year. Much enjoyable ride than on a 787
That’s awesome!
My favorite overpowered passenger aircraft.
Mine too!
3:58 "He's not even racing you" "Yes, he is!"
Haha it’s ALWAYS a competition in aviation
My first flight on a 757-200 was on a Saturday evening from Tampa to Atlanta in 1996 on Delta. There were only 17 passengers and the pilot in command was definitely in the mood for providing a thrill. He punched it on takeoff and I freaked out a little when he rotated in what seemed like just a few seconds, and then the climb out was just incredible. I was used to flying on early 737s and 727s which had long takeoff runs. Been my favorite aircraft ever since. Boeing dropped the ball not updating the 757 in favor of continuing to upgrade a design from the ‘60s.
Haha that’s awesome… I’ve got the captain to punch it for me before too. So cool ;) thanks for sharing
@ You bet! 👍
The short runway at the Washington airport has a frw problems! Anyone else remember the Air Florida crash on a very ,snowy winter day ? January 13??? Western Marylander here! That was a very bad winter snowstorm!
Tell me you know nothing about jet operations without telling me you know nothing about jet operations.
What are you implying I said incorrectly?
Beautiful 😻 full throttle hits a perfect octave above pre-takeoff pitch! 🙌🏼
Yes it does, I’m so happy someone else realized that ;)
Dang, I thought the area around the Capitol was far more restricted than that. lol
Well it’s restricted, but not to the River. That’s where all northerly departures fly outta DCA.
In 20 years flight sims and high powered systems and high quality add-ons will make the game nearly indistinguishable from sounds and visuals of reality…
Correct but this is real life
Yes it is … but at first I thought it was a sim until the 1:23 mark when I saw the parking lot and cld see some car tops driving behind , through the trees
@townsendheal8471 oh haha very good eye!
Supercritical wing and more power than it knows what to do with....😎
Oh yeah ;)
Hey, what camera do you use? Just an iPhone or something?
Yup, IPhone 14 with 2160P and 60FPS
@inflight_aviation Ah ok so action mode on I would assume? Also if I may ask, do you use the autofocus lock and if so, where do you focus on?? Thanks
@SWAFanPilot to be honest I’ve never paid attention to action mode. And yes I usually focus either on the winglet/tip of the wing itself or the engine just depending on the color I want and what makes the video look the best.
@SWAFanPilot and don’t worry about it- you can ask away, I’m always happy to answer questions ;)
@inflight_aviation Thanks again! Now I have to find a way to move files to my computer and delete them on my phone, since I only have 1GB left 😂
Exelente Vídeo 🇧🇷🛫
Thank you!
There should of been a 757NG program.
Oooh that’d be cool!
Nice.
21:00 That's Mount Storm coal fired power plant down there by the little blue lake. And the cute white picket fences on top the ridges are wind turbines, not sure how tall they are - huge!
Oh that’s awesome! I’m delighted that the weather this day was perfect for a flawless view of the area. Stunning
@inflight_aviation For a sense of scale: The lake is about 6 miles long and 3 wide near the power station. Allegheny front is about 3500 ft above sea level. Each tower.turbine roughly the height of Washington Monument. ...50+ mile view from 6 miles up
@jim9930 yes it’s insane. Driving through California the other day I saw some of the propellers up close- it’s amazing
These titles are ridiculous
Then stop watching
Wow. That was amazing. DC is a beautiful city. Parts of it, anyway. It’s the perfect city to cycle in. The best bike paths I’ve ever ridden and they go on and on and on. LOVE it!
Agreed, I’ve only been there twice now and it’s up with my favorites. Gorgeous city
Just stay west of the anacostia 😅
Haha thanks for the heads up!
Western Marylander here! I we puld like to suggest you take a rude on the Allegheny Great Passage from Pittsburgh to Cumberland ,Maryland. Then get on the C&O Canal and ride to Washington , DC. You can also start in DC and ride to Pittsburgh, PA, mostly uphill!
would / ride
I heard that vibrating sound for the first time my whole flight thought it was something bad at first why does it make that noise compared to other engines ?? The ongoing vibrating noise starts at 4:04
That’s the buzzsaw that has been there since spoolup but you only really start to hear it once the wheels leave the ground so the rumble stops.
@inflight_aviation But why does this engine do this only? What engine is it so I can do some research lol
@Herobe15 it’s the RB211 and the noise comes from each fan blade breaking the speed of sound.
I wondered that too. My Dad who designed the flight control systems on that plane said it was the “compressors”
Used to work at Boeing Field in Seattle in the 90's. When the 757's would take off for a test flight (mostly empty no doubt) they would literally leap into the air after rotation. It was quite a site. This is a nice video of DC. Thanks for posting.
Oh yeah thats awesome. Thanks for watching!
The 757 is the Ferrari of airplanes.😊
100%
is the ER or normal?
Standard
I still can hear those Boeing 707 engines screaming bloody murder (earworm for life?) when we used to fly Olympic or TWA nonstop to Athens, Greece from JFK, New York back in the 70's when I was a teen! Ever since, I enjoy watching videos like this!
Haha that’s awesome ;)
I never got to fly in the 707 and only in the 720 once -my parents worked for United so I grew up on DC-8s and 747s. For me, nothing beats the sound of an air cart start on those old JT4 turbojets.
@miket2120 ohhhh that’s awesome 🤙
Awesome! My last flight on a 57 used full length (Orlando to Atlanta in hot weather, full flight).
Oh neat! I’m sure the 757 thought that was easy though… it’s a short flight. The 752s outta LIH when Hawaii is in the 90s really show off the 75.
@ definitely one of the best sounds in commercial aviation 😊
The Airline Pilots favorite Aircraft…..
Oh yeah
Leaving on a jet plane . .
Lotta people don't realize how much most 757 flights just kinda gently ease themselves into the air. When you goose it, a 757 will *move*.
Haha
Boeing took the 757 out of service too soon.
I agree!
He rotated after maybe 29 seconds after throttling up.
It was pretty quick for sure
Nice Day
It was gorgeous
Love the takeoff!
Thanks for watching!
Hey, what is that change in pitch of sound at 04:32
Thrust reduction
All aircraft, from a ultrlight/ piper cub to the F-22 make "full throttle" take offs. What's with the title? Do people actually think partial throttle take offs happen? How ridiculas....
Not all aircraft make full power takeoffs, in fact 95% of all commercial jets take off with reduced power.
@inflight_aviation would like to hear some Boeing/Airbus captains respond to this. You a pilot? I am and have never heard such a thing from any pilot I know.
@garyyoung4074 yep! But next time you fly, go ahead and ask the flight crew- you would be as surprised as I was once I first found out! Whether the takeoff thrust is 20% or only 0.3% below full, it’s still a reduced power takeoff and the VAST majority of takeoffs are with reduced thrust. It is better on the engines to reduce the takeoff thrust and once done so, the VMCG (velocity of minimum control on ground) is also reduced allowing control of the aircraft using only rudder at a lower speed.
Everything about that takeoff was intense including ascent, no tail strike?
No tail strike
@inflight_aviation Whew, I’m always afraid of that with the 753.
@ChrisZoomER don’t blame you, the risk is higher in a 737-900 however. It’s lower to the ground and has similar proportions so pilots have to be careful.
Rolls-Royce RB-211’s - Fell in love with that sound in 1996 on a flight to Honolulu out of SFO, on a Lockheed L-1011 Tristar. Right at takeoff, when all three of those beauties spooled up, the sound was something I would never forget. Sure do miss the L-1011. 😢
Mhm…. There used to be an L-1011 at my home airport, TUS before they flew it to Kansas City. I saw it all the time and could get super close- it was a beast.
Dang. That thing was rotating in a matter of seconds. Amazing!
I know right?!
In October was on this UA type from DEN to SFO for 15k points. Made me a $139 buy up to the front I couldn’t refuse . Fun jet .
Ooooh nice. It’s good to know that after purchasing with points, I can upgrade with dollars too. Thanks!!!
Beautiful aircraft! Did United complete its NEXT program with updated IFEs on the 757 fleet?
Nope, this bird didn’t have the NEXT interior however somehow all of the rest of my united flights this year (738+319) had it.
@inflight_aviation OK thanks!
@asafblasbergvideographer no problem ;)
@inflight_aviation So the current 752's feature the older IFE designs? I remember I flew on a UA 752 in 2020 and it had the older and much smaller IFE design.
Honestly I’m not too sure about the 752s… I’d like to say that some have the NEXT interior but it’s really not something to pay attention to. However, on the United app within a couple days of your flight it’ll tell the aircraft details and there should be a little symbol indicating the NEXT interior. You can also check that for any United flight on the flight status page.
7:05- I can see my house from here! DCA is my regular airport- love the river visual. Views of the DC area are fantastic.
Oh awesome! And yes the weather this day was gorgeous so I was able to nail the video detail for sure!
This is tremendous. This sounds near exactly the same as a 757 I was on this summer that full power was also applied to (dub-iad). The plane was max weight so they needed 100% N1 to achieve a safe stop margin (wet runway). Excellent catch
Yessir! Thanks for watching dude- I love your videos as well 🤙🤙
Rocket Fuel Malt Liquor Daaaaaaammmmmmmnnnnn.
Haha
Thanks!
Oh thank you so much!!!
Thanks!
You’re a legend. God bless ;)
Beautiful take off and scenery!
Thanks for watching!
not 'insane' and planes are always at full throttle at takeoff. More clickbait morons.
the 757-300 such an underrated plane!!
I agree!
@inflight_aviation and while they are cool too, the 757-200s are a bit overrated to me
Only 54 757-300s were built. United has 21 of them, originally delivered in the Continental livery, pre-merger. Delta has 16. Of the original 54 delivered, 52 are still actively registered. When you have an opportunity to fly on one, you’re flying on a rare gem. And just for fun, book a flight way in the back of the plane and choose an aisle seat. Watch the interior flex on takeoff roll. That airplane is REALLY long! On a side note, only 37 767-400ERs were built for the airlines. There was one built as test bed for a military project. That one was sold to a foreign country that used it as a VIP aircraft. United has 16 of these 767 variants, originally delivered to Continental. Delta has 21. So again, if you’re an airline geek and want to fly on another rare gem, book your flights now.
I believe it was 55, but yes it was a LUCKY gem. I totally love that idea of taking the back of the airplane and watching the interior flex… it’s not anything I’ve thought of so thank you for the input and I will 100% look into doing that soon. Thanks for watching!
@ I just pulled these numbers up prior to posting this. If there’s an issue with the actual number built, you can work to correct Wikipedia’s table of current operators. I’m not going to squabble about one more airplane. If less than 100 airframes of a variant are delivered before being canceled, it means that nobody was buying them. It keeps them rare. When you do decide to sacrifice service and legroom for a few seconds of experiencing this airplane from the back during the takeoff roll, be sure to capture some video. Also, it would be fun to show your audience how long it takes to get from entering the airplane at door 2 left (all of United’s 757s board through door 2 left) to get to rows 35-43 in a -300. For those with close connecting flights, those seats are a REALLY bad idea! That’s why I suggested, “just for fun.”
@TenMinuteTrips haha gotcha. Thanks for the idea!!!
This is one of the advantages of using DCA. . .We live about 1 mile NW of RWNY 19, so we see all kinds of traffic (even saw D. Trump's 757 depart a year or so ago). Sitting on the other side of the aircraft the view is Arlington National Cemetary and the Pentagon. When using RNWY 19 we even can see our condo.
@@scottmarquiss7941 that’s awesome!
Stunning views! Very nice.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What was this video recorded with?
I used my IPhone 14 standard with 4K and 60FPS
