Yes UK
It's making her smoke a bit she's having a good clear out my smokes a bit under stress nice to see her tho 👍👍👍👍
Hi David. Yes it is essential to work them harn now and then 😀
0:39 No sense of danger!
No sense no feeling is what they say. I have no problem with mechanical pto engagement. It is the ipto packs that i am not keen on when the engine is running.
fordson not power !
?
Is this tractor for you…? I am from Iraq 🇮🇶 ❤
Yes
Did I just see him put PTO shaft on with engine still running.
Yeh he is a naughty boy. On the plus side it is ny on impossible to engage the dog clutch without pressing the clutch. Trust mechanical dog clutches a lot nore than ipto packs
Definitely Ford 5000/7000 nothing else comes close, Sorry to disappoint you🇬🇧🇮🇪.
Be better if they were 4wd with the hills round here
Brought back some memories of our gang contract muck spreading with ten ford 5000 & Howard 6 ton rota spreaders in Norfolk 🇬🇧🇮🇪.
Any pics?
To my knowledge those Major's spun the PTO at a higher speed than the standard 540 putting more pressure on the engine. You are also working with a tractor that is now more than 60 years old. They weren't great at opening the load as they hadn't the torque. Power output would be if not below it about 45 horse power. If you traveled a good distance from the farmyard to the field you certainly could be in trouble opening the load. I recall it happening to my late father with a borrowed Major in the late '70's when filling with a Zetor 4511 on the loader. He had to go back to the farmyard and put the Zetor on the spreader as it had ground drive from the rear wheels of the tractor to the pto to open the load. After that he'd turn the load briefly before leaving the yard with the Major, wrapping the chains around the shaft making it easier to open. The comment about changing the upper sprocket is correct, Howard printed an advisory on the front guard (covering the driving chain) to use the correct sprocket for your tractor!! Slowing down the shaft working the chains. Memories from a time in my life long gone!! Stick to the tractor with the greater power.
Hi Pat. Thank you for your comment. I don't know if frazer offer different size sprockets like Howard did. Also as this is an old spreader i don't know if these are still available? The rotor shaft can be turned to wrap the chains like you say if there is a long way to travel. On this occasion we were loading in the same field. The pto speed is very low in the engine rev range and probably at the highest torque and not highest horse power? The frazer is a 4½ foot diameter barrel compared to the howard 100 typically used at a 3 foot back in the day 😀
@Lisa_Turner Yes you are correct, higher pto speed at lower engine revs leading to lower torque. I think Ford addressed this issue in the Super Major. Use the Major for smaller tasks and get more out of it. Enjoy what you're doing.
If your spreader is the same as a Howard rota spreader, you can change the sprockets at the front to alter the gearing, making it easier to drive
I don't know if Frazer do different sprockets?
Howard Machinery built several different sizes of rotor spreader starting from 100 up to the largest contractor 250 which were only sold to contractors and odd large farms.
@@michaellynskey7124that is interesting to know thst they only sold the bigger kit to contractors. I thought a sale was a sale but the farmer needs the tractor capable of powing it too
No they wasn't just for bigger farms & Contractor, The largest Howard was a 250 contractor for anyone to purchase, Sorry if I didn't explain it properly.
I see two things, one is you need a raised pto, the other is your barrel spreader is a little too big for your power major, sloppy manure takes more power to spread than farmyard manure anyway, as you found out when it was getting low.
Hi Glen. Yes the spreader is a bit big. It is ment for bigger tractors and we wanted to see how the major compared to the Ford 5000 i used on it earlier in the year. I thought it did quite well being a lot smaller.
Hi Lisa. Some 50 years ago I drove my father's Super Major working a Howard rotary spreader of a smaller diameter than you have there. It could manage it OK. But for the spreader similar to your size, we used a Ford 5000. So when the Major began to die at the end as the chains got greedy, I wasn't surprised.
Yes we have a 5000 on the farm and i used thst at the start of the year. It did cope a lot better than the major. I think a lot of people forget the Howard 100 is a lot smaller than the Frazer we have.
@@Lisa_Turner The Howard we used were the biggest 250 Contractor, With heavily modified barrels & hoods,
@Lisa_Turner The other issue with Diesel Majors of that era was that the standard 540 RPM PTO speed occurred at around 1200 RPM engine speed which is very low. There was a Raised PTO unit that could be fitted that physically raised the position of the PTO shaft and changed the Engine/PTO gearing ratio slightly so that 540 on the PTO was at higher engine revs. It also provide a disconnect between it's PTO output shaft and the original tractor PTO shaft so that the hydraulics could be run on the tractor while the PTO shaft of an implement would not turn if not required. Such units are impossible to find now.
@@michaellynskey7124What modifications were made?
@@dellhell8842 the were raterd for 1600 rpm morebinline with prak hp and 1200 rpm is more in lone with peak torque. Raised pto units are still available but people want stupid money and collectors seem to be willing to pay it
proper job! have you ever dad a Massey 35? I spread on our small holding with one. Great little tractors
No i have never had a 35. Driven a 135 a few times and have a ted20
the massey
She's a babe to drive. So stable on a slope
I know the major was on her knees but love to hear a major bark under load.
Around here that stuff is liquefied and then sprayed around the fields a week or so before seeding. Lovely time of year that.
Do you mean slurry spreading as it is called in the Uk
Hi Lisa, I like the way the Massey 3075 handled the muck wagon, the 4-wheel drive seems to give it more stability. All the best, Ken
Hi Ken. Yes the massey is a lot safer on the hilss. 4wd and over 1000kg heavier to be in charge of the spreader too
Hi Lisa , when the muckspreader chains get longer poor ole Bessie is on her knees , she wouldnt be long getting hot , you may get a six cylinder and shoehorn it into it
Hi john. I am not keen on the length of a 6 pot major. To be fair she does not run hot on the gague but a higher hp 4 pot is more the asthetics i like.
Ohh.. the Massey obviously.😊
Yes i have to admit the massey is very nice to pilot.

@@user-cp4zf9cq2qyes i have chamged the fueling inside the pump on the rack as the adjuster screw did not give enough fuel increase.
Is that a coal powered tractor?
Might as well be 🤣 is coal cheaper than diesel?
Did you get the front axle re-pined and bushed Lisa ? I've been driving a one year old 5S 105 on grain carting duties, but I still prefer the 3095 but they won't let me because it's semi retired.😊 IMHO the 5S 105 is wayyy too light for the trailer, especially it pushed a loaded 12 ton plus trailer down hill at speed, that was a s#!TTY pants scary moment yesterday.😳💩👍
Hi Calum. There has been some work done on the front axle. But not the pivot pin. There will be a full 3075 series of videos comming soon. I am very behind with editing but have lots of fottage to do over the winter.
😊👍
This what I found, the pressure gauge mealy registering 200 lbs, too, too low due to what, severe worn on the pump?
That is very low. Are the valves closing satusfactory? Can oil get into the pump? Is the lift piston sealing satisfactory? Is the oil tube sealing into the pump casting and top casting? Is the relief valve ok? All things to check when you rebuild it.
How is your rebuilt hydraulic pump doing? I ordered a T20 pump kit, hoping it will give me better PSI to my front loader.
Hydrauloc pump is doing ok. The conteol valve stcks at high pressure but it is as the highest setting. If the system pressure is lower the valve works fine.
I'm really glad my 35x has a CAV DPA pump. The Simms looks fearsome!
The simms pump is just like an engine really. Piston goes up and pressurizes the diesel. Welcome to the channel
My wrapper is remote controled and has magnets and sensors underneath the turntable that register when the turntable has done a rotation and been tipped ect... does yours purely rely on you letting go of the spool lever at just the right time? No automated stoppng place? There coukdnt be a broken roll pin or loose bolt on the drive too the turntable thsts still gripping enough to turn the turntable but not having it in the correct position.. like for a better way of saying it. Out of time?
It just relys ont the lever being let go in the correct position. We had a remote control one but it was a static wrapper and we needed a mobile one.
Super, Lisa is lovely! My 58 Fergie runs good but front loader goes up slowly, thinking it is a worn out pump like yours. Just fear of rebuilding it...
The pump is quite straight forwards. Plenty of videos online to help these days. If i was to do it again i would try another supplier and hope for better quality parts but it is always a gamble.
I should do a pressure test before taking the pump out. The 3 point hatch is up and down well, control is working as well. Do you know what lbs is for a good pump?
Very good vid! What did you find? My 58 Fergie is lack of hydraulic power, took 10 min. to lift front bucket, yet 3 point moves up and down fine. I suspect the pump is warn so bad or leaky, not produce enough pressure.
Are you sure there is no restriction in the system if the 3pt works ok. Have seen pipes delaminate inside and block one way but still free flow the other way. If the linkage is fine i would be looking elsewhere than the pump for a problem. Best to do a pressure and flow test to narrow the problem down.
Hi Lisa, The steam powered tractor did a real good job of pulling. It looked like there were some other nice tractors at the event also. All the best, Ken
Hi Ken. When the stamers pulled the sledge was a rolling weight and the skid plate was not on the ground. Still effortless as a standard fordson major had ago and sis not even move the 14 ton rolling weight.
I'll have to say, I'm getting more fascinated with Steam powered engines especially the skill and craftsmanship from the bygone age 😊, although.. I'll never afford it or be able to go back in time for it, Thank you Lisa. 🙂👍
I find it amazing the accuracy they could work to back then, and the equipme t they had to make and move everything from the foundry to manufacture. The scale of the machinery used was immense.
Grate video well done
Thank you. Go to try and get the job done 😀
Wow stuck hard
Yeh it was very stubbon to come off
New subscriber, fantastic work Lisa

THATS NOT A BEE GUYS
you havent shown most important part it was straight forward to connect the trailer to relay how you connected cables from relay to car wires ,??
Just spliced into the loom. Easy peasy. Nice and straight forward.
Ya it’s just a air hole so the shit will drain without overflow… how the hell do y’all not know that. 😂
Any chance of a demonstration of what you mean?
The hole will only let air in if the plastic tube is pushed all the way in. Then it will not pour properly.
I do it the proper way he does. But he's not releasing it right. All uou have to do is pull the tale you tie. Pull it up that will spin it open
Oh gosh he will have a big head now when he reads this 🤣
Hi Lisa; First let me congratulate you on reaching 1,000 subscribers. There were some beautiful views of the surrounding countryside at about the 10 minute mark. Ratchet straps have always been a challenge to me, just when I think I've got it right I have to redo it. As far as the extra mounting holes and brackets on the front of the tractor, I don't know what they are used for, but in time I'm sure their purpose will be revealed. All the best, Ken
Hi Ken. Thank you it has been a lot harder than i thought to reach 1000 subscribers. Yes i am very lucky to be in such a beautiful part of the world now. Take care.

He don't have time for that. He is go, go, go!

Roberty you mean?
Hi is the hydraulic motor controlled by those bowden cable levers i see lying on top of the rapper if so is the lever set to the neutral position as they are adjustable kind of a stupid suggestion or is the hydraulic direction spool valve the other end of those levers bypassing oil so its still sending oil to the motor even if it was in the neutral position normally a directional control valve normally controls the motor so i would say id be looking at that first before condemming the motor kind of difficult to diagnose without seeing all the components in the system.i always rule out and check all the simple stuff before i go replacing expensive components like a motor it could well be the motor but id have thought if it was the motor you'd have excessive oil coming out of the case drain pipe of the motor and it was knackered internally i would have thought it wouldn't have the power to turn the turn table anyway hope you find out what is wrong with it and hopefully its not to expensive good luck and can you do a video on what was actually causing the problem its not everyday people get to see what goes wrong with a hydraulic system. 😊
Hi yes bowden cables go to the spool block. The turntable has the power to spin a bale to wrap it and does vary slightly in speed. The table can be rotated by hand when the machine is in use and when it is parked up. This makea me think that it is more motor slip problem than a direction control valve not centering. Also the table will turn either way when it is in the raised position to eject the bale. It usually starts to turn the opposite way to what it wraps the bale when the lever is released. I wonder if there is corrosion stopping the spool returning to the neutral position and something we can look at. I would like to think that when the wrapper hydraulics are disconnected from the tractor the table will be extreemely hard to turn, but it turns very easily.
@@Lisa_Turner if the motor is failing and it is leaking internally I've found sometimes that if you run the machine for a short period of time from cold the motor will get a hot spot on the casing somewhere where the hydraulic oil is getting past the worn component internally sometimes you can feel it by hand or you could use a digital thermometer gun or thermal imaging camera a thermometer gun are only about £30 quid off Amazon which would give you a temperature reading and would show up the hot spot where the oil was leaking internally obviously over a long period of time the whole casing would become heat soaked so this test is best done from when the oil is cold as it will show the hotspot up more easily as the gap in the worn component of the motor will create the heat as the hydraulic oil is being forced by a small constriction causing friction and heat case drain is normally high as well if a motor is knackered also noise from the motor if it's cavitating.
Keep it pointing up let's air into the can
So the plastic spout that the hole is in stays on the can when you pour the fluid out of it. This makes it difficult to fill jugs as the oil will go all over the lip of the can.
Похоже данная установка используется для упаковки сена
We use it for silage. The grass is not dried enough for hay.
To let air back into the can . Keep it upwards when pouring
But it is outside of the can and cannot let air into the can if it is in an external position. It will only be possibly able to let air in if the plastic tube is left fully in and make it difficult to pour the fluid out.
@@Lisa_Turner good point, you got me there so 🤔
There is a plate in centre of the platform there is a hollow pin in the shaft. Open the plate and have a look at what is going on 😮
The plate on the top of the table where the pinion geras are,
Hi Lisa; I have found that some aftermarket parts are good enough for my needs and others are pure junk. It all depends upon who the manufacturer is. The price difference between genuine and aftermarket can sometimes be so great that it forces you to take a chance on the aftermarket part and hope it works out. All the best, Ken
Exactly Ken. Especially when you are doing swapnostics as everything else seems satisfactory for correct operation. Intermittent problems are the hardest to diagnose. Expecially when it is a squeal.
